Michael called and gave a 30 mins heads up before he arrived. Took a look at both systems in my house, thoroughly walked me through each system and answered every question I had. He fixed the hot zones I had in my master bedroom, and explained how to best leverage my existing systems to maximize air flow throughout the house to make it more comfortable. He also provided some future recommendations on upgrades once I'm ready. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable, friendly and honest HVAC company.

Thea, the owner / service manager, came out to inspect our AC system and immediately noticed something dangerous: the previous installer had set up the outdoor disconnect without a fuse, which is a major safety issue. Because of that, the wiring had burned and nearly made its way into the house. T patiently explained everything to me--what went wrong, why it was dangerous, and what the proper setup should be. He recommended replacing the disconnect with a fused version, and clearly laid out the potential risks and what to expect. When we turned the system back on, we were holding our breath... and to our relief, the 10-year-old compressor kicked on just fine. T could have easily told me I needed a whole new unit, but instead, he was honest, transparent, and incredibly knowledgeable. I even looked up everything he explained afterward--and it all checked out. By the way, the communication was excellent--I reached out through Yelp and was kept in the loop with email reminders and messaging right through the app. Everything felt smooth and professional from start to finish. In the attached photos, you can see the burnt wiring and connector from before, and the new fused disconnect they installed. The difference is night and day. The installation guys were also very nice and did a great job, It's only been a few days so the system is running fine. The only gripe is that they left a lot of trash and residual foil and scrap pieces of the old ac up there. It was a pretty tidy space so it was noticeable and a little disappointed that they would leave parts and trash up there. I would say give them a call for service or new installation, but ask them to remove any trash and leave the place somewhat cleaned up. You pay a lot of money to replace a whole system and to find the space messy left a poor taste. It could've been an excellent service, but an oversight in minor details made it mediocre.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Mannix Heating & Cooling. I contacted the…read morecompany regarding an Aprilaire humidifier recall because my humidifier was not working. As a homeowner, I don't know whether the issue is the recalled electrode, the humidifier itself, the wiring, or the HVAC controls. That's exactly why I hired an HVAC company--to diagnose the problem. Instead, technician Silvio Guerrero immediately stated there would be two separate charges before inspecting a single component. I even suggested we set the recall aside and simply use the visit to diagnose why my humidifier wasn't working. Rather than inspecting anything or explaining what the charges covered, he repeatedly said, "It's two charges," stated he was very busy with other service calls and didn't have time to deal with this, told me to call the office, suggested I hire another company, and left. My HVAC system itself is brand new and working perfectly. My humidifier, however, is wired into the HVAC control board. I was not asking for an HVAC repair--I was asking for my humidifier to be diagnosed. If checking the HVAC control board as part of diagnosing the humidifier required an additional charge, that should have been explained after inspecting the system. Instead, the moment the discussion involved the HVAC control board, it seemed to automatically become a separate charge without anyone even looking at the equipment. What made the experience even worse was management's response. Instead of listening to my concerns, I was told I was "argumentative" and accused of "double dipping." That accusation was both unfair and insulting. I never asked for free work or refused to pay for legitimate diagnostics. I simply expected the technician to inspect the problem, explain what he found, identify what was covered by the recall, explain any additional charges, and then let me decide how to proceed. This entire experience reflected poor communication, impatience, and a lack of professionalism from both the technician and management. Customers deserve a proper diagnosis and a clear explanation before being asked to authorize additional charges--not assumptions, accusations, and a technician who walks away without inspecting the problem. I have completely lost confidence in Mannix Heating & Cooling and will never use this company again.

He suggested a method that would save me cost and aggravation in the installation process (viz., the closet housing one of the units had a narrow opening and some other estimators wanted to rip out the door frame, which Mr. Kapur determined was unnecessary.) The pricing of replacement HVACs was competitive and the installation crew was respectful, hard-working and very competent, finishing all of the project in under one day. I am very satisfied with everything Mannix did on my property.
