We started off with a flight of grandmas eggs which allows you to choose three different ones. My personal favorite was the Buffalo chicken which makes me want that was an appetizer next time I'm in town. The chimcherri one was okay. And not fully sure the other but it was decent. I had the Bad Henny with potato salad. Everything was tasty. My only complaint would be the bread kept sliding off. But that potato was one my favorites ever. So tasty. We stopped by on a Sunday for lunch. They had a brunch menu as well as their regular menu. We opted for lunch since it was after 12. All the wait staff was super friendly and helpful. Some of the best we have encountered in a while. I had the Apple and goat cheese salad (added grilled chicken) and hubby had the Italian stallion sandwich. We both had a beer that was on tap. Bright Penny Brewing is what I love in a brew pub: First of all, ya gotta have great beer or the rest doesn't matter. I tried the Mebane Skyline which is one of the better wheat beers I've experienced. Bright and crisp with blood orange in the finish. Atmosphere counts a lot and the rustic, industrial vibe in Bright Penny creates a relaxed atmosphere. Ample TV's provide good views of sporting events and dog shows (just kidding I think). Outside seating is abundant for warmer weather along with corn hole games. Finally, the food has to be decent and the food at Bright Penny is far beyond decent, it's damn good! (There's also a cool garden patio area with Adirondack chairs that we lounged in with after dinner drinks.) We started by ordering at the counter. I sampled several beers and liked them all. They were super smooth and had great taste profiles (I'm not a big drinker, so I don't know if that's the right verbiage, but they were great.) We had the "Madge" deviled eggs, which were so good, then went on to salad, Apple Goat, so fresh and perfect, then the pizza. I tried the Lasagna Pizza and the Sloppy Joe Pizza. There are actually 2 locations in Mebane, one by the outlets and this one. This place is fantastic. They have seating inside, but the main attraction is outside at the beer garden. It was packed today so no pictures because it's always creepy to take photos or strangers to post online. My husband, the introverts' favorite part is you can grab a table outside, scan the QR code, order from your phone and they bring it to your table. In all honesty, you could go here with never entering the place. We had the Oktoberfest and the Buffalo chicken dip with pitas. Service was great and we greatly enjoyed the beer and food! Definitely a cool place, check it out if you are in the area. The parking lot is small but there is a lot right across the street when you can park and walk over. We decided to venture out to Mebane based on some great reviews from Yelp and some other investigations. Bright Penny Brewing was our main destination for coming to Mebane and we weren't disappointed with the stop. The brewery has over 20 beers on tap and after tasting a few both my wife and I decided on the Chocolate Covered Pistachio, according to the website (Imperial Stout brewed with over 50 pounds of real pistachio and 25 pounds of Dutch cocoa powder.) and according to my tastebuds WOW, frickin' awesome...! We also ordered a flight of deviled eggs, something that Bright Penny is known for and you get three choices with six half total. All were excellent, but our favorite we thought was Doreen's which was topped with dill weed, dill relish, and paprika, but Harriet's came in a close second. I think no matter what you choose you will be happy. Now, for the main we ordered the Sweet & Salty pizza (sort of like me and my wife...I will not say who is which), this is the description from the website again (Garlic oil base, topped with shaved prosciutto, sliced black mission figs, and goat cheese, finished with fresh arugula and balsamic glaze). I do this so you will know what was on the pizza. Okay, Bright Penny, there is WAY TOO MUCH GOAT CHEESE, you need to either dial it back or increase the fig or my suggestion would be to add a caramelized onion to the pizza to balance out the cheese. My wife thought a cream base would be better. A couple who sat next to us ordered the same pizza and on our way out I asked them what they thought of the pizza and they said the same thing. So, please take note, it was good but could be over-the-top good. My wife and I both agreed we would come back because this place is a gem. read more

Hubby wanted to get out and explore so we chose Mebane last Saturday. We picked this lovely establishment and enjoyed a beer called "chocolate covered pistachio". A smooth imperial Stout. Very luscious. We then picked our flight of eggs and split them. We enjoyed all of them but I have to say...I could eat a whole plate of just the "Doreens"..that relish dill weed and paprika combo was unforgettable and addicting. Now the pizza. Hmmm...our pick fell a little short. We ordered the "Sweet & Salty " and I basically feel we had a goat cheese flatbread. Soooo much goat cheese. It was a bit much. Not much of a base to it...that's why it felt like a flat bread. I'd say add a creamy fatty base to it...less goat cheese..and you got yourself a winner. What a nice Saturday afternoon. We were traveling through Mebane when the hunger hit so we stopped in to this brewery with food. The menu was pretty extensive so we needed time to go through it before ordering at the counter. We ordered a couple beers, I had the #2 which I think was Skyline and an order of Karen's deviled eggs (topped with seafood dip). I was surprised to find deviled eggs on the menu and they offer several different toppings for them so I look forward to trying some others in the future because they were very good. We sat outside in a shady spot and then ordered the buffalo chicken dip which came with pita chips and the Korean bbq pizza (flavor of the month). It was a thin crust and had very good flavor but I thought it could have had more toppings because several spots were just dough. Atmosphere is quaint, with indoor and outdoor options. Indoors can be a little loud when full but not so bad you cannot carry on a conversation. The craft beer has a nice selection and is very tasty. Started with Sal's pretzel, which was an excellent choice. Arrived hot, soft but not chewy, butter and grated parmesan, with a tomato based dipping sauce. Meal was pizza, Family Friendly. I enjoy wood fired "bar" style pizza so this was excellent. The sausage is locally sourced and some of the best I have tasted. Perfect size for two. Manager stopped by to clear the plates and asked how things were, and when found out our first visit, stayed and explained about the restaurant, going ons throughout the week. There are probably eight different varieties of deviled eggs to start with and I love that they have a sampler allowing you to choose three flavors. The harvest salad was fresh and gave us the veggies we needed for the day and then onto that incredible lasagna pizza! It really does taste just like lasagna! Only two critiques, knives included with the silverware would make all the difference. We also asked for a side of sauce for the crust but never saw the server again. It happens. Shockingly I do enjoy their system of ordering at the table from your phone.
