This is a very cute brewery located in Mebane, NC. They have a small parking lot along with an outdoor beer garden. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. They have a wide variety of beer and seltzers. I ordered the County Line which was light and refreshing. I also ordered a flight of deviled eggs. I got the Josephine, Madge, and Doreen. Josephine was by far my favorite but all three were good. I had already eaten brunch or I would have gotten a pizza. I saw several on neighboring tables which looked amazing. Stopped in for a late lunch. I am so glad we did! It's so nice to find a brewery with a food menu. We ordered 2 kinds of the deviled eggs. Wow! Josephine's were my favorite! Who knew that pepper jelly and eggs would be a match made in heaven!?! The Magdelena eggs were also amazing! I highly recommend both. I ordered the barbecue chicken pizza. (The 4-1-2) it was perfect. (I did say hold the jalapeño). There were at least 20 of Bright Penny beers to choose from. They even had their own lemon / lime soda and root beer. The bar tenders were great. We visited Tanger Outlets and hubby located this gem. From the moment we entered it was exhilarating. The waitress - Susan was so happy and jolly. She recommended a great cider (we had 3)! We were hungry and she stated that they don't serve food at this location however , 2 miles up is the brewery. There we went.... Again...the servers there were Top Notch!!! Pizza (steak and cheese and pepperoni / Crab Dip / a variety of deviled eggs were all amazing!! We stopped in here on a Sunday as we were traveling home from the beach. This was a wonderful surprise! Their brunch was absolutely delicious! My youngest son and I shared the breakfast pizza - maybe one of the best "pizzas" I've ever had! My other son order the bacon waffles. I had the mimosa flight and couldn't decide which was my favorite because they were all delicious! The boys had the homemade root beer and cream sodas. It was more of a chicken salad added and not grilled chicken pieces. It was a good salad, but I wouldn't add chicken again. It came with a side of raspberry vinaigrette, which was good. Nothing to brag about. The buffalo chicken dip was ok. I would get the lobster dip next time. The pita bread that came with it was not that great. It was cold and hard. I wish they were hot & fresh. The wine was good, I know there's a slice of pizza missing in my picture but I didn't have a slice, a friend did. He usually orders it so I'm assuming it's good, might try it next time. HUGE shout out to y'all today! I stopped by on a mission to purchase a case of beer for my beer advent calendar and y'all came through big time! I was intrigued by the sweet tea sour ale-was given a sample and ordered myself one and a loaded baked potato pizza, sat outside on this beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. One of the staff offered to drive to the Tanger location to get me the case of beer that I wanted for my advent calendar! He also insisted on carrying the case to my car when I checked out. I'd definitely go back to Bright Penny to try some more of their pizzas! That said, I was expecting the usual menu of burgers and sandwiches, but their gig is pizza. There is also an entire page dedicated to deviled eggs. That was a first! I was starvational at that point so I went with it...and wasn't disappointed. Given COVID, and live music was setting up (don't enjoy very loud noise), we opted to sit on the back (covered) patio. Large fans were on but they didn't keep away the annoying flies. Ask for Sue when you go; she's been there a long time and you can tell she really loves her job. She knows locals' names and how their families are doing. She was so nice, helpful, attentive and fast. That goes a long way these days. The 4-1-2 pizza was really good. A heads up that they leave the seeds in the jalapeños, so if you don't like really hot things I'd recommend you ask for them to be left off. This pizza has a BBQ sauce base topped with diced chicken, diced bacon, shaved red onion, sliced jalapeño, cheddar cheese, and is finished with rosemary honey drizzle. Tasty! I ate the entire thing (boom!) and, frankly, didn't have room left for the blonde ale I'd gotten. I hope to return if I'm in the area. read more

I had the pleasure of checking out Bright Penny this evening. We shared a gluten-free pizza which was better than any other gluten-free pizza. I've eaten in the past. A large selection of deviled eggs to tempt your taste buds, but I was a little disappointed. The lovely descriptions were merely a topping for half of a hard-boiled egg not a deviled egg as we've become a custom to. Service was quick and friendly, an outstanding beer garden is tucked away behind the brewery. I'm sure it's a great place for a solo musician, late night conversation, and low lit shenanigans. Stopped here after a soccer tournament game in Raleigh. Lots of pizza combinations - including a thanksgiving special with Turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry drizzle! My parents found this little gem and highly recommended it so we met them for dinner as a half way point between Durham & GSO. So good!!!! It is a bit off the highway so I'd highly recommend whether coming from east or west to take the Buckhorn exit because it's only 5 minutes down the road from there otherwise if you take the Mebane exit we originally took coming from GSO per the GPS takes like 10 minutes off the highway. Plenty of parking - their own lot and on the street. And they have indoor & outdoor seating plus a big nice tent with heaters for even more seating! It was a group of 5 of us and we shared 3 pizzas and 2 salads! Their Caesar was awesome - super fresh Parmesan and great tasting dressing on the side with homemade croutons made out of their pizza dough. The bright Penny salad looked good too if you're a fan of a fully based arugula salad. We enjoyed the pizzas, enough to feed 5 too with still a few slices to take home. Super cool story about their wood fire oven brought all the way from Italy which apparently cost more than their actual brewing machines! The Wellington pizza - would've enjoyed without the Dijon mustard, steak was amazing on it but didn't love the mustard however if you like Dijon mustard you have to give this unique pie a try! Bbq Sausage - local thin sliced sausage was amazing on it and loved the cremini mushrooms and Parmesan cheese based pizza drizzled with BBQ sauce made it super tasty - this was my boyfriend and my fav! 4-1-2 - the guy at the counter recommends this between this and the Buffalo chicken pizza so we got it. Was a bit similar to the bbq sausage but with chicken and bacon, jalapeños, onions and cheddar cheese. Felt the BBQ was a little too much on it but probably because we already had the one with BBQ above! Tasted great tho and was definitely rich and filling. Service was awesome - it's just counter service and they bring your food out with your table # and are quick and keep your table cleaned. There was one extremely sweet lady working rounds checking on all the tables, making sure we were good too! Great local beer, homemade seltzer and wine options too! Sounds like they have all kinds of events as well with painting & wine even going on that tonight as well as live music and Trivia on other nights! Will definitely be back - Due to short staff that night we didn't get to try their assortment of deviled egg options which I was really looking forward too after my parents told us all about them! He Said: This is our second visit, but this one was on purpose! We came through this way once before and found Bright Penny by chance, hunting for food as we drove through the area. This time we returned knowing a quick and tasty pizza would be just the thing we needed. Once again, we were not disappointed. Great and attentive staff, a very local vibe, and a satisfying meal. Visited here for the first time with a party of 20+ and we had a GREAT experience! I speak for everyone when I say we will definitely be returning! The outdoor seating under the tent was great for our large party and it was heated too which was great as it was a little chilly today. The staff was so friendly and the food was AMAZING! Long line for beer and food and the female employee would come up to men in the line to pull them to the other bar line but totally disregarded other women. What's that about? Even men 2-3 groups behind us. Very ridiculous. It would make more sense if she pulled according to order in line. But guess this is how they do it in Mebane. Not a fan of this place. Usually do work meetings at Filament so we were excited to find a great lunch spot in walking distance. I tried the Bright Penny Hefeweizen and it was great! It's the lightest beer so it's very refreshing and a great beer for someone who is a light beer or cider drinker. We couldn't decide between pizza and salad so we shared the apple and goat cheese salad and the little Italy pizza (without capers). We loved the salad, the dressing is a great compliment to the ingredients and it was definitely a great size. The pizza was also great, especially the sauce and had a unique flavor that was great with toppings. The waitresses were also very nice and checked on us several times throughout our meal. They allowed me to try the beer before I ordered. I honestly didn't expect much because not all brewery food is good so this exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for a place with good food this is the place. They have pizza, salad and a few appetizers. However, if you're looking for a place with friendly staff and an environment that doesn't include other customers belittling you while staff members observe and laugh this isn't the place for you. First time visitor here, from the moment I walked in the door i immediately caught an "I don't care about your feelings, I just want your money" vibe from this place. I hardly ever leave bad reviews on places unless I have a reason to do so and this is one of those situations. My friend and I entered the establishment and was rudely greeted by two gentlemen at the counter. The staff member at the counter rudely asked if we were having food too, after us trying to figure out which beer we wanted because we've never been there before. As we were walking out to the patio to sit we were greeted very kindly by an elderly woman with a smile on her face and kindness in her eyes. It's Easter Sunday and she was wearing bunny ears and just seemed like she actually cared about her job. After grabbing our beer and going to the patio we waited to order food, placed our order with the kind staff member noted above which ended up being our server. She waited on us during our time here. My friend and I discussed how the staff treated us upon entry and debated whether or not we would return as the staff member approached. She told us that she is sorry for how the other people acted but we told her it was not her fault, it's a management issue. After we finished our food and paid for our order. We got into our vehicle and as we started driving away we were confronted by another customer and was advised we were wrong, complainers and used some cross words towards us. As this was happening a staff member who was standing outside lowered his mask and began smiling at the situation and allowed this other customer to continue belittling myself and my friend. We drove off and we probably won't be back to this place until some things change. I visited this place even though I've heard from multiple people it's a mediocre place with staff who don't care and today was a great example. Cool spot, unique find in little Mebane. They have at least 10 of their own brews on tap, which is cool so you can try lots of them. The food menu is a little bit limited, just pizzas, salads, and deviled eggs. I would love to see a burger or something like that as an option. Pizza was very good though and if you like deviled eggs, it's cool to try all the options.. if you're in Mebane, give them a visit. read more

What a great experience! I had a great blood orange wheat beer. Then we ordered a flight of Grandma's Eggs. It was tough deciding which to choose because they all sounded so good. The wine selection is limited. It is a brewery, after all. The Cab I had was very tasty and our pizza was really good. Deviled eggs come in many flavors with goat cheese used in place of mayo for most varieties. You can order one kind and get 5 of that type. Or you can pay little more and have 6, 2 of any 3 flavors. I HIGHLY recommend the ones with crab. My husband is a fan of the Buffalo chicken variety. The beers are astonishingly good. I'm not a big beer drinker. However, I like the taste of stouts and porters. I just can't ever seem to finish one. I'm coming back here for a flight, though. read more

The head brewer, Scott, has genuine passion and the knowledge to brew some damn good beer. The head chef and general manager, Tory, creates incredible menu items that you won't be able to find anywhere else and definitely don't expect to find at your local brewery.
