Only took an hour and a half to get my oil changed which was the good news. Then I had to wait another 15 minutes while I watch my vehicle sit there after it was pulled around. I Had to go find a service tech to ask him if I could leave. He said sure it's no charge as long as you don't want your paperwork you could leave. Yep that's what I call customer service. Less anyone thinks it's just me, while I was waiting two separate people/customers made comments as to how they hated this dealerships service department. 6-12-17 Here for my last prepaid oil change and after 2 yrs this place is still terrible. I made an appointment to test drive the truck before signing the paperwork. My appointment was confirmed 3 hours beforehand. It took me over 8 hours at the dealership after I said "Yes" to the vehicle I wanted. In between dealing with other people he worked on my sale. I got pulled over a couple months later....Well long story short they never transfered my plates to my new truck or transfered the title on my new truck to me. You guys do this for a living right? The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because of how quickly the management worked to resolve this issue. I waited 1 week to write this review due to the shock of my recent experience with their service department. I took my work van for a rough running engine....after 1 full week in their hands and 7 different attempts to repair...I picked it up not wanting to rack up an even larger bill and the van was worse than when I brought it in. $4500.00 dollars and they only wanted to keep "trying" things. Insurance fraud happening here. Got an estimate for collision damage and it was crazy high for what needed to be done. The insurance adjuster was suspicious and required an additional quote. The second quote was $1,500 cheaper. I think they are ripping off insurance companies here, not to mention they were really rude to me and took 3 days to get the estimate completed. This review is for customer service in the service department. First my family and I have invested into 7 cars in the last five years. I will no longer do business with Brighton ford I purchased an 2016 Ford Escape in Jan of this year. Mike was great as a sales person. That is where customer service stop. There is no customer service after the sale. They got your money time to move onto the next person. My concern is I had a tire sensor go bad two weeks ago. I called Brighton ford to set an appointment to have my sensor replaced. First I was treated like a criminal and the appointment setter implied that I broke the sensor and would have to replace it myself. I called Mike and voice my concern. He straighten it out and informed me that the sensor would be covered he then made an appointment for 0800 to have it replaced. I took the day off work and arrived at0755. I was informed that it would be a four hour wait. There is nothing you can do about it. I tried to explain that four hours is a long time to wait and I don't have that much time to invest. He said oh well I guess you can reschedule. First I had an appointment. I should been in and out no longer than an hour. Second, the lack luster attitude the potter had toward me was borderline unprofessional My recommendation is that if you don't mind no customer service after the sale you will be fine. If you do I would go elsewhere to do business. I will no longer buy anything from Brighton ford. They lost a customer for life. I will also informed everyone I know. And, we had many. Lol He took his time and walked us through all of our questions. In the end we did wind up getting a new lease which we were very thrilled with. NOT A REVIEW OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT! I have never used them, as there is a Ford Dealer closer to my house. But car buying: I despise buying a new car. Dealing with these guys has been a god-send. They are open and upfront; even showing me the dealer invoice with X-plan and A-plan pricing. The first time I was there, I told them what I wanted (which I based on another dealer's offer) and they said they could do better than what I wanted (mind you I didn't just give them the other dealers offer) and they had showed my the dealer invoice, X-plan and A-plan pricing; so I could see exactly where their offer stood. A couple years later I went back since they were so upfront the first time--not really looking to buy a car that day and they showed me current Ford deals that I was unaware of and I walked away with a new car at the employee price. Using the same deal, they ended up selling me a second car (well, leased), which put my wife in a new car while decreasing my monthly payments. If you hate the game playing that goes on with buying a new car. Give these guys a chance. read more

I dropped my Ford Edge off Monday after work for a Tuesday appointment to look at two issues. As of Thursday afternoon, nobody had even looked at my vehicle. This the fourth separate issue we've had with this service department: burying a car after oil change and not being able to find the keys for the car in front; didn't tighten lug nuts after a tire rotation; dropped another car off for next day appointment and it took 3 days to find that nobody had even looked at the vehicle. Summary: I have purchased over a dozen new cars in the past 15 years. These 2 new cars were the dirtiest new cars I've ever been given the keys to! Details: We bought 2 new cars within a month of each other from Brighton Ford. Our Salesman John Bradbury is great but Brighton Ford's service department is not so great. Our first car was delivered to us dirty in the interior. There was dirt ground into the pedals and a little in the carpet on the driver side. Worst of all it had dark dust and smears in the interior near the headliner. Like it sat with the windows open for too long and was never cleaned. John Bradbury made service clean it again though while we waited. Our second car was delivered dirty as well but this time much worse. Crumbs in the cup holder, scuff marks on the center console and again dirt ground into the floor driver side pedal area. There were even crumbs mashed between the panels in the center console! The windows were dirtier than my used car I traded! No joke. I don't know how a new car dealer can manage to get smudges all over the windows of a new vehicle. We also had a minor repair to an electric folding seat which required our new car to be brought in for service. The service department was not friendly. There was even a guy who sat at his desk and ignored me. When someone asked him to help me he said, "I'm outta here, I can't". Luckily a newer, younger kid came along and helped me. John Bradbury told me to tell Kelli about our experiences when she called. I did. I explained it fully to her. She told me a manager/owner would be contacting me to see what they can do. Nobody called. Brighton Ford will never see our business again. They will never see our vehicles again either. But I do hope they see this review and know the consumer will see this as well anywhere I can copy/paste it. P.S. I also have proof your service didn't clean my car well at all. I found something very valuable under the passenger seat a week or so later. I'm assuming it belongs to me since it came with the car. read more

I had compared pricing and payments with other Ford dealerships in the area and Brighton Ford offered me the best payments by far. The dealership is huge and they have lots of choices. BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!!! As others have stated bait and switch lives!!! Saw a vehicle on line advertised at a great price, so I contacted Brighton Ford, confirmed that the car was available and the price was accurate, filled out a credit application and was ready to move forward with the sale when, whoops, the actual price of the car was now $6000 higher than advertised! During the process the salesman also shared our income information from our credit application with a family member who had no business knowing what we make. When we found out the salesman had done this and called him out on it, he swore at my wife on the phone, called her expletive names a woman should never be called, and hung up on her. I sent a lengthy email to the general manager and the owner as well as leaving messages with them explaining the situation (I don't believe the salesman was even disciplined), but have heard nothing back. Our family has previously purchased over 5 vehicles from this dealer, but will never be back again. This after the air conditioning compressor blew out, took the belts with it. The brakes had to be replaced. This was by no means a "certified vehicle". Purchases Ford Escape in March 2013. Worst experience I have ever had purchasing a new car. Salesman, unprofessional and dishonest. Tried to do a bait and switch by switching invoices to one which had more options. I noticed it after the transaction was nearly complete. Sales guy was very rude and said he couldn't understand why $400 should make any difference. Lost our paperwork for the down payment. Told us how to fill out the customer satisfaction survey 3 times and showed us a laminated example with "completely satisfied" marked. Told us that that is how we needed to fill it out. It's been a few months, but my most recent visit still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I arrived on a weekday morning right when they opened to have my vehicle serviced (oil change and an alignment since I had just purchased new tires days earlier). I waited over 20 minutes to be checked in, and there were only about 3 people ahead of me in line. The reason for the wait was because the customer service reps were using iPads that were slow and buggy. They had to wait for screens to load and then were required to take multiple pictures of every vehicle, which slowed them down significantly. One guy took 5+ minutes to check in a customer only to have the iPad crash and have to start over again on paper (funny enough, the paper method was much faster). The people behind me in line had been waiting for half an hour before someone finally got to them. The alignment and oil change were completed in twice the amount of time I was quoted on the phone the day before and when I had shown up that morning. "A couple hours," I was told both times. They found rusted brake rotors which I opted to have replaced, and I realize that that adds time; however, I had brought my vehicle in at 7:00 AM and they had taken it into the garage right away, and they had the rotors in stock. I don't feel I should have had to wait until almost noon (nearly 5 hours) for three relatively simple, straightforward, routine operations. There seemed to be plenty of techs in their garage. Things went from annoying to bad when I got in the vehicle to leave, and the steering wheel was a good 15 degrees off center. I drove down Grand River to downtown Brighton before turning around and heading back. I was told by the customer service rep that he would get a manager. Instead, he got the technician who worked on the vehicle. He explained that this was normal and would fix itself in time. I insisted that the wheel was dramatically off-center and asked him to take a look. He test drove it around the parking lot and agreed with me, and took it back in. Another 45 minutes later, the car was ready. To this day, months later, the wheel is still not centered, although it is better than it was. Before the alignment, the wheel had always been perfectly centered. For me, this cosmetic detail adds a lot to the ergonomics and driving experience. It bothers me every time I drive the car now. Things went from bad to worse when a worman called the next day to check up on my service experience. I explained everything to her. She told me she would have a service manager call me soon. Instead, she had the same customer service rep call me back. He's a nice guy, but was not a manager. So, that made two times that I was told a manager would help me and then did not. After a couple more phone conversations with the woman and the customer service rep, I ended up not taking the car back in to have the wheel adjusted. I read on several websites that a wheel can be crooked and the alignment can still be just fine, and I didn't want to deal with these people anymore. The people who helped me are nice people who (mostly) seem to know how to do their jobs, but they are just not working in concert with each other. And the work I had done was fine and has not given me any problems (except the crooked wheel). But the buggy iPads, the crooked wheel, the very long wait, the twice-promised-and-never-delivered opportunity to speak with a manager all added up to too much for me. On top of that, they had the worst daytime dreck blaring on the TVs in their waiting room. I grew up in Michigan, and although I now live and go to school in another state, I like to spend my money there when possible. Next time I am in town, however, I will take my car to Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor and see how things compare. Brighton Ford just doesn't have their game together, and I am reminded of that every time I drive. read more

After working with a sales rep for more than a month, going on a journey from "not sure what make/model I will purchase" to "I decided to buy a new Ford Escape", he and I reached an agreement over email for the car I had test driven. When I arrived to finalize the purchase, less than a day later, I was told they had sold that car the night before, but lucky for me they had another one that cost only a few thousand more... I wish there was a zero star option. When I think of the way this dealership treated my mother it makes me physically sick. My mom, who is up there in years, went there and came home proudly with a Ford Escape. It was the next day that she realized the simple things she required of a car simply weren't true. These are things like an in dash compass and thermometer. Simple but I know my mom would be particular about these things and said she was told there was a way to find it. Why they didn't show her right there is beyond me. She decided she didn't enjoy the car THE NEXT DAY. She tried to bring it back that day but was told sale was final. This was all done in February of 2015 and I am taking her to Hyundai in New Hudson, a place where I can trust the people to not only give it to her straight but stand behind their products. I hear the commercials for Brighton Ford and it says it is the biggest dealership blah blah blah, well if they are they got there through underhanded deals and slimy sales-lie tactics. read more

First off, I have to say I have been a fan of the Brighton Ford Used Car department for a few years now. I have bought three vehicles from them. When purchasing them, I received a lifetime discount on oil changes so I have always taken my vehicles there for service even though they are over 30 miles away. I even have a ford dealership down the road from me but my loyalty has been with Brighton..... until this year. I have had one questionable and 2 terrible experiences with the service department. I understand having one and maybe even two but the third one tells me it's become common place to mislead their customers. First Experience - They over charged me for the oil change. They charged me full price even though I showed them my discount card given to me when I purchased the car. It was partly my fault for not catching it until I got home but you would think since my vehicle has ONLY been serviced by them, that they would automatically be able to apply the discount with or without my card now. This one was the questionable experience. 2nd Experience - My wife bought a vehicle from them and I was taking it in for it's first oil change since we bought it. Within 30 minutes, I received a call from the service rep telling me "Your battery is dead, will not take a charge and needs to be replaced." I give the ok to replace the battery and inquired how could my battery be dead shortly after I bought it. I also inquired about having Brighton partially compensate me since I just recently bought that vehicle form them. They looked at me like I had 2 heads. I got the representative that sold me the car on the phone and he came over to help out. It turns out that the battery was NOT dead and that it WAS taking a charge but at a lower level than what Ford expects. I had them put the old battery back in and went home. I was told the maintenance rep was new and that he was still in training. OK, I understand how this played out ands willing to still give them the benefit of the doubt. 3rd Experience - I got a check engine light on my 2011 F-150 the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend. I had the code read and did some research. The code was for cylinder3 mis-firing and there are many bulletins explaining it as being an issue and what Ford would do to take care of it. The work time for the fix was an hour and is covered under the 6 year/60,000 mile base warranty. Knowing there is only 55,500 mile on my truck, my only concern was the build date on since it is a 2011. I called Brighton ford immediately and asked about making an appointment. The earliest they could get me in was a week out at 7:30 AM. I felt comfortable with that and brought it in this morning at 7:30 AM. I explain the issue and get the write-up for the estimation. He had it written up as $100 deductible and over charged me for the oil change once again. After questioning him about the build date on my truck, he tells me it would only be covered by the 3 year/30,000 warranty which expired many years ago. I did the research and know what I was talking about. Once he caught on, he totally changed his tune by saying he could not accurately estimate the cost until it was troubleshot. Red flag - Why would you give me an estimate if you cannot accurately give me one. I decide to go to breakfast shaking my head all the way there. After breakfast, my service reps notices me walking into the waiting area. He walks in and says my truck would not even be looked at until late afternoon. I ask him why my appointment was made for 7:30 if my truck was not going to be looked at until late afternoon. His response was "That was the drop-off time, not the appointment time. I had the Brighton Ford that said my appointment time was 7:30. His response then was that he had asked if I needed a ride somewhere. I did not realize asking me if I needed a ride somewhere equated to "Your truck is gong to sit in my parking lot until late afternoon." I took my truck NEVER to return to Brighton Ford for maintenance. My suggestion to anyone who is hell bent on getting your vehicle maintained by Brighton Ford is to do the research ahead of time. They will not have your best interest in mind and will gladly bill you for things you do not need to should not have done. read more

WORST DEALERSHIP AND SALESMAN EVER!!!Specifically the salesman scott in new car sales. Do not trust this guy. I went in and ordered a specific truck. I gave a deposit check that Brighton Ford cashed immediately. I got a call for weeks later expecting to here my truck was ready but instead was told the truck could not be ordered. After speaking with the manager I was informed the salesman did not verify the truck could be ordered even though he guaranteed me it was not a problem and the truck would be there in 4 weeks. Fast forward a few weeks and I still have not received my refund for my down payment. I went to another dealership and got exactly what I wanted. I again call Brighton Ford to get my refund and get the pin number for my A plan since I was now using it at another dealership. I asked for the manager Dominic who refused to answer my call. So I was transferred to Scott. He said they locked my pin and I needed a new one and then hung up on me. DO NOT GO TO BRIGHTON FORD FOR ANY REASON!!!!!!! read more

I scheduled a 7:30am service on my 2014 Ford F-150 . Oil change Tire rotation Squeak from back seat They also informed me of a re-call on the master break cylinder . Arrived on time and met service adviser and a technician. I explained that I would like them to be careful with the tire rotation and not knock the shoulders off of the lugs or scratch my new after market rims. Technician said it was their policy not work on after market rims and could not guarantee what I was requesting. I said have you never rotated tires on a Ford truck with aftermarket rims? He said "well we don't have the proper spline." I said ok maybe you should. Then I said just do the other service requested. I asked the service writer when the vehicle would be ready and he said later this afternoon. So why did I have to bring it in at 7:30? So I guess really didn't have a 7:30 appt. I bought this vehicle (used ) at this dealership. Took it to Maxey Ford in Howell and they said there was no master brake recall. They also took the time to explain to me how to get the right spline I needed. The spline is registered for safety purposes and the customer is the only one who can order it. Completely logical explanation without the policy defense. Went in at 10:30 and he said he would call me at noon with status update Leased a Taurus at Maxey and they will get all of our business now. read more

To begin with, my sister called this dealership because she was having a problem with her car. She called on Tuesday and made an appointment to bring in the car on Thursday. Well, she brought the car in on Thursday morning and left it there. When she dropped it off, she told the service technician that the car would not start unless it was jumped. Now, I know nothing about cars, but in my mind if a car needs a jump every time to start it then it is probably a bad battery. Well they asked my sister if she wanted them to run diagnostics and my sister not knowing what to say and not knowing if this was standard procedure told them to run the diagnostics. The cost of the diagnostic was $115.00. To me this was clearly taking advantage of a female who did know very much about cars and was putting her trust in what she thought were the experts . Finally, on Friday morning the service department said the diagnostics indicated that the battery was bad. So now the total cost to get the car running was quoted at $345.00!!! My sister told them that she would pick up the car and get a battery somewhere else and then she was told that they misquoted the price and gave a comparable price of other locations to replace the battery but she was also informed that she was still responsible for paying for the diagnostic fee of $115.00. When my sister picked up the car she had to pay $301.00 total and all she needed was a battery. The service manager now claims that my sister gave the O.K. to run the diagnostics (which is true) but the dealership says that what she should have done was just requested that they check the battery and then they would not have run the diagnostics. I am claiming any reputable technician would have recognized that it was a bad battery initially and not had suggested to run diagnostics and because my sister did not use the "right" words they took it upon themselves to suggest running the diagnostic knowing full well that the car only needed a new battery. The technician clearly took advantage of a helpless female in order to pad the bill and this is wrong. I have never heard of anyone else paying $301.00 for a car that only needed a new battery. Buyer beware! Brighton Ford will not honor the extended warranty they sold me for $1655. My signed contract says the warranty is good for 125k miles or until 9/3/2017, which ever comes first. I have only 115k miles and today is 01/23/2015, however they insist it expired in August 2014. They will not honor the contract nor will they refund my money read more

Lets start by having a bad rotor 2 weeks after driving away, the rotor gets turned and put back on, a couple months goes by and same problem, I was told that is because I don't take care of my truck that I needed to grease the calipers. Why would I grease something that they should have greased when they did the repair, not to mention I realized the rotor got messed up due to the caliper being bad in the 1st place. Next the truck had to be towed to them at 35000 for a no start, seems a flex fuel system should not be ran on flex fuel, I was told it is a flop, but it was flex fuel system they hit on during the sale. I paid $2000 for a extended warranty yet I realize my paper work showed to my bank $1510 where did the rest of the $2000 go. Last I find out even though its not in writing you can only take your car or truck to some 1 else in case of an emergency only if a dealer is more than 20 miles away, and that mean FORD, LINCOIN, MERCURY. worse part I realized I do a lot of my own work in the past as I would buy cars etc with say 127,000 miles or more. I would buy and put on good parts that could be serviced such as a tie rod end that has a grease fitting. My 2014 f 150 has recently had $1200 work of parts in labor put into to it and has never been off road. I have 62,000 miles on it and should not need shocks /struts, tie rod, etc. I took it to some 1 other than ford because I was 70 miles from home, and did not know how to contact about my warranty, plus the shop I took it to worked on it the next day on a Saturday. Last my paper work was tossed out the door and I was told to get off the property after I told Brighton Ford they are cons. Now my oil gauge is messing up and my dash says my door is open when it is not, 62,000 miles on the truck. Now I have to see if they once again tell me its not covered under my 75,000 warranty, or I get the GOOD OLE ITS NORN WEAR AND TEAR. Which is not covered under the warranty. read more
