Buying a wedding dress here was like buying a used car. I thought I was buying 'the one' but soon realized I was buying something that required over 1200$ in repairs. I am a size 4 and the sales woman wouldn't put me in a dress smaller than a 10. Wouldn't even let me look at the dresses in my size and persuaded me that any dress could be altered to my size. Once I was contemplating buying a dress but wanted to think about it and come back later, she told me I would only get the discounted price if I bought it right then and there. So I caved, I bought a size 12 dress and was referred to an alterations place. I went to hem & her alterations and given an estimate of 1200$ (I spent 1400$ on the dress). She said she would have to completely reconstruct the dress to get it to my size. Making a whole new dress would have been easier. I called Brilliant Bridal and they refused to let me return it. A dress I cannot even wear on my wedding day. These sales women are just looking to capitalize on vulnerable brides and tell you anything you want to hear. How beautiful you look, how much money you'll be saving, etc. Save your money and order a dress in your size from a different bridal shop. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

After learning the hard way how gross sample dresses at regular boutiques/salons are, I thought Brilliant Bridal would be a better experience. Plus, all these great reviews, right? Yeah, no. Kassidy was so upsettingly rude. - I wasn't that excited about the dresses we found, and for some reason Kassidy thought it was a good idea to ask if I was sure I actually wanted to get married. Apparently she doesn't realize that a marriage and a wedding (and dress shopping) are not the same thing? It's like she felt the need to 'neg' me for not performing "correct feminine excitement" regarding bridal attire. - She told me in the dressing room, out of nowhere, that she would make sure to get me out of the store asap. I told her I wasn't looking to rush, and she said that I didn't seem like I enjoyed wedding dress shopping and that I must not want to be there. I don't really like shopping period, but I showed up with my best can-do attitude only to be told I basically wasn't welcome if I wasn't bubbly enough. I offered to leave if that was her preference and she backpedaled badly, pretending like she was trying to make sure I was comfortable (and fooling no one). It was unnecessary and patronizing. - Her note that she was trying to make sure I was comfortable was ironic, since she later zipped me into a dress that was clearly too small for me. I told her it wouldn't zip and was too small, but she took that as a challenge instead of listening to me. The fabric had no give and rigid boning, and while I was very upfront about how uncomfortable I was and how difficult it was to breathe, she walked off to get more dresses *leaving me zipped into a dress I could barely breathe in*. I had originally planned to come to my appointment alone, and good thing I didn't - I had to get my friend to unzip me so I could breathe. - I'm sure "is this a dress you can picture yourself getting married in?" is a normal question during these appointments, but she kept chastising me when my answers were "eh" "maybe" or even "no." Like it was an annoyance for her that I didn't like the dresses. - Kassidy was bluntly dismissive of my preference that a dress be comfortable, making a rude remark that she would try her best to find me something I "could do all the squats [I] want in". I didn't need some absurd range of motion, and have no plans for crazy dance moves that I needed to work around. I just wanted something I could stand, walk, and sit in comfortably, and I don't think that's a point that deserved criticism or snark. I should have walked out after the first comment asking if I actually wanted to get married, but it was one of those things where you don't quite realize how messed up it all was until after the fact. She also had a generally very pushy vibe. The entire thing was so bad that I'd never advise anyone to come here, but since I'm sure plenty of ladies are looking forward to seeing what this place has in stock, here's a helpful tip: call ahead and make sure you don't get Kassidy for your appointment, especially if you have any apprehensions about dress shopping. read more

Shay was so helpful. I came with my mom, grandma, & a bridesmaid and we had a wonderful time. Shopping has been hard so far, but Shay was so loving and patient with me; she made me feel like a bride & a beautiful one at that. Absolutely amazing experience! I was put in such an unfortunate situation no bride would want to be put in, but honestly, it was all for the better. Long story short, I ordered a custom dress from another bridal boutique back in March. Come to find out the week of the dress delivery, my dress wasn't coming. So back to square one. And that's when I did some research on best places to get a wedding dress with short notice. Brilliant Bridal does off-the-rack designer wedding gowns. I was hesitant with the idea of walking home with a dress off-the-rack. I truly wanted something unique and custom. However, there are still these options when purchasing off the rack. I did find my dream dress, which was a designer dress, when I shopped at this store, and they gave me several options for how we could add some customization to the dress, such as adding beaded appliques to hair pieces and veils. I felt more happy walking away with this dress than I did when I found my "dream dress" back in March. AND THE PRICE!!! I couldn't believe the price I got my dress for, even with all my accessories, the whole purchase was half the price of my previous custom dress from another store. This experience was amazing and I was truly lucky to be given the chance to come to Brilliant Bridal and find my wedding dress. The world works itself is mysterious ways! This was a fantastic dress shopping experience. Angela was my consultant, and she was awesome. She was very knowledgeable and professional but also caring and fun with a great sense of humor. She made me very comfortable, asked the right questions to narrow down what I was looking for, and she was so very reassuring when I was doubting my choice of dress. She was somewhat of a refuge and helped me balance my own personal wants with my family's advice. She also had a tremendous amount of patience in letting me try on some of the dresses two or three times, and we kept her past my appointment time (I came in at 4:30 and we left at closing, 7 p.m.). I'm sure the other consultants are great, but I would advise anyone looking for her wedding dress to specifically request her. Ask for Angela!!! I introduced my "entourage" to her, and we were off! Angela gave us clothespins to attach to the dresses I wanted to try on, and then she pulled them for me. I have only shopped for wedding dresses in one other store, so I don't have much to compare this experience to, but Brilliant Bridal had many more dresses that matched my vision. I did not have a rigid idea of what I wanted. Basically, I expressed I'd prefer a fitted silhouette, no ball gown or anything puffy, preferably not strapless, and I'd like sleeves for my fall Flagstaff wedding but it definitely wasn't mandatory. Many dresses they had fit the bill. And it was a HARD decision to narrow it down to two and then choose the one. The other boutique I went to was also off-the-rack, and it was difficult for me to find anything I liked. They had one dress I considered, which was really out of my price range. Brilliant Bridal had a great variety of beautiful dresses. And many seemed to be in that style sweet spot which, to me, meant timeless in that your grandkids won't be laughing at your wedding photos, but also edgy enough that they weren't boring or like everyone else's wedding dress at the time. Check in on Yelp, and you get 10% off your purchase! This whole experience was really wonderful. The staff and store are just very approachable, and they know what they're doing. They don't have in-house alterations, but they will give you several recommendations. That wasn't a big deal to me, because I live in Tucson so I can get someone local. read more

My mom flew in just for this weekend, and I was so worried I wouldn't find "the one" while she was here. I booked 6 back-to-back appointments across the Valley and just in case! The absolute last thing I was expecting was to find my dress at the very first place I looked, and it's truly because of my consultant, Kendra. I've never been one to "dream" about my dress and while I had some general ideas, I was a bit overwhelmed. Kendra made me feel so at ease! I loved being able to pick out one or two dresses first, and Kendra did an amazing job carefully listening to mine, my mom, and future MIL's comments on each dress in order to pull better and better ones - all significantly under budget. The dress ended up being a perfect mix of all the best things about the previous dresses, and while it was a bit over budget Kendra shared she would see what she could do to get us there. What I most appreciated about Kendra was her genuine investment in helping me feel beautiful, supported, and giving kind but direct feedback when needed based on my wishes - I loved that she was able to say "I don't think that works with what you want" SO helpful. When we found the one, Kendra even suggested wearing different veils and adjusting the lighting. In the end, we were all in happy tears and went a bit over our time - again, I can't thank Brilliant Bridal enough for your patience and grace! When we got to the front, every consultant seemed to know about the dress and were just as happy! I will say their waiting area is small but our consultant was matched up with us in less than 10 minutes. She explained how Brilliant Bridal is different and showed me to my size where I could pick out some dresses to try on. They had quite the variety, and each dress in the store was unique. My consultant was very nice and helpful. She felt very genuine and made my experience wonderful. This store has great deals on dresses and mine was about $400 less than retail price. However, I had to take off a star because they really hooked us on a veil and it ended up being almost $300! And we didn't know about the price until checkout! Ladies, I encourage you to go to Brilliant Bridal, but make sure you check the price on the accessories before getting too excited about them. I wish I had some more research into an alteration place because I did not have a great experience with the one they recommended.
