What a horrible experience. I booked an appointment for a 90 minute session with myself and my soon to be mother-in-law who wanted to be a part of my dress shopping and buying experience. The store is in an old part of Mesa and states it's a discount bridal store and the dresses are purchased "off the rack" (gross and also probably damaged). The store itself is old and outdated. Therefore, nothing about this store says "bougie." The girl that we encountered upon entering the store and I approached at the front counter, didn't have herself put together (frumpy looking) and put no effort into making herself presentable. She also had zero enthusiasm in being our shopping guide. It was like I was interrupting what she was doing. Again, going along with the theme of "discount bridal." So, we get to the area where you sit by the dressing rooms, and she asks my budget. I was being funny and said $1. She then proceeded to immediately and condescendingly tell me the dresses start at $1,200 and I should go to the under $500 rack and look around but basically the (1 minute appointment) was over. She pointed to the $500 rack at the front of the store and got up and walked away. I wanted to walk out immediately but my mother in law wanted to be accommodating and look. There was like 5 dresses in my size on the rack and none even close to anything desirable (5'5", 130 pounds). I was trying to make my way to the door when the girl came over and in a tone that was patronizing and informed me I should consider a more appropriate store for my budget and to go to the superstition mall store that sells donated wedding dresses. I have never been or felt so disrespected and was extremely embarrassed. I actually make a very good living and I'm the "mom" you are used to seeing in there "paying" for the dresses. I will never bring my three daughters to your store. I can afford a dress at your store and probably could have been persuaded to get one. Complete fail on your part for making big assumptions and rash judgements. You've now lost a potential customer who has 3 unmarried daughters. read more

Finding my dress here was such a serendipitous experience! After an appointment at another bridal chain that went OK but not great, my family and I wanted to try one more spot...somewhere that felt more like boutique shopping than a chain/basic experience but wouldn't blow the budget out of the water. We happened upon Brilliant Bridal from a quick online search, called, and was able to get an appointment within 30 minutes! We drove over and I got set up with Gillian. We had an immediate connection and I already knew this appointment was going to go differently than the last. She even was very familiar with my venue that is in San Diego! What are the odds? Being that I am from out of town, I wasn't expecting to actually purchase anything on this day, but Gillian really understood me, put me in some amazing dresses, and helped me realize (without ANY pressure or pushing) which dress was right for me. I felt super comfortable being honest and vulnerable with her. When it finally came down to it and I was deciding whether or not to say YES, Taylor Swift's "Love Story" started playing over the speakers....BABY JUST SAY YES! So I did! It was a perfect moment. Paiton was amazing to work with to find my beautiful wedding dress! She was so patient and helpful and made me feel comfortable even when my nerves were high going in. She took her time with everything from the fitting room to the viewing area and was super helpful with the train, veil and hair accessories to help finalize the look. An amazing experience. I went to look at wedding gowns, not expecting to purchase anything that day. I had an appointment just as the store opened. My attendant took her time working me, discussing my likes/dislikes, budget, etc. I was able to pull dresses that appeared to me, and she pulled some as well. I was able to find a gorgeous wedding dress, happened to be on sale, then to find out it was slated for their $95 off the rack sale. I walked out with an originally priced $1500 gown for $82, which included a 20% discount for making the appointment at a bridal show. Wonderful experience. This was the first dress store I tried on my search for "the dress." Although I didn't leave with the one, I had a pleasant experience. Peyton was my dress consultant, she took time getting to know me and what my desires were in a dress. She even informed me on the alterations that could take place to give me the perfect dress. This store carries dresses that are nicely discounted. The downside of this, is the dresses are sold as is, no ordering of a new dress with individual measurements. My wedding has now passed and I have some further advice. Don't believe the attendant when they tell you what alterations can be done on a dress. Just getting the dress shortened and having a bustle added to the dress cost me almost $300. I ended up losing 9 pounds for the dress instead of the suggested letting out of the hem by half an inch. I can't imagine how much that would have added to the alteration cost. When I went to the seamstress the shop recommended she questioned if the dress even fit me. The attendant also said the seamstress could remove the cups in the dress and add new ones (see photo of mishaped cups). The #1 seamstress they recommended ignored me every time I complained about the cups, and 3 other seamstresses told me they couldn't fix them. Knowing what I know now I would have bought a different dress. read more

I really enjoyed my time here! My fiancé and I are getting married in May 2023 so I needed something off the rack to help speed the process up. I was told that a seamstress could do the list of things I wish the dress had and even the recommendations made by Brilliant Bridal couldn't do them. I was left with a useless dress. Short review: This was my first day dress shopping and Kendra made it an amazing experience. I highly recommend checking here for your dress. Detailed review: I loved every dress I tried on which was a good problem to have! We were all able to pull dresses off the rack and the stylist added some based on my selections and my described style. As I was trying on the ones I picked, she was mixing in her selections based on what I liked and didn't like about dresses. She kept them coming and each time they got better and better. Kendra hand selected my top 2 dresses and I had my "THIS IS THE DRESS" moment. Huge pro #1: I fit in the dresses they had on the floor!!! There were so many unique beautiful dresses in every size. I wasn't even drawn to any tiny sizes wishing they were in my size because they had plenty of options for my body. I know that I am above the average wedding dress size and that was one of the things I feared most about shopping. I didn't even think about it while I was here because I was too busy feeling amazing!! Huge pro #2: They had a large viewing area for me and everybody (mom, dad, and 2 sisters and 2 of my bridesmaids) that was with me. I saw dresses ranging from as low as $600 up to $2500+. Most of the dresses were around $1200. I found my dress and within my budget! She made the entire process from checking in, trying on dresses, and finally finding the one, simple and fun! Her bubbly and confident personality radiated the entire appointment and was so contagious. I've been to a few shops already and was grateful I came across this one. All of the ladies were so kind and complimentary. I didn't feel pressured or made to feel uncomfortable regarding my price range, and in fact, they did the best job at working with me and assisting to find a dress in my budget. I had the absolute best experience at Brilliant Bridal!! I swear, my stylist, Melody, must be a fairy godmother because after only a brief conversation about the vibe of my wedding, she was able to find my perfect dress!! Truly a magical moment. The one she chose for me was the first one I tried on and the dress I will wear on my wedding day! The dress she pulled was not what I had originally thought I was going to get when I researched dresses, but the second I put it on I immediately had that WOW moment (and so did my mom and sister when they saw it, too!!) it matched my personality and my energy and I couldn't imagine wearing any other dress. I had an absolutely amazing experience at Brilliant Bridal, I cannot recommend them enough!! Don't let the strange location deter you - I live nearby and pass it every day and never thought twice about shopping here until I read all the great reviews online and that they sell off the rack! I was so pleasantly surprised when I walked inside, the place is HUGE and you get a private changing room with a viewing area for your tribe which was so amazing. Plus, they're very responsible when it comes to COVID measures (limited appointments, number of guests at a time, cleanliness, etc all 100% on point). My stylist Kendra was super sweet and very helpful in narrowing down my style - after helping me try on a bunch of gowns I picked myself, she really got to know my style and exactly what I was looking for and ended up pulling the PERFECT dress for me!! I learned later that they don't work off commission so it's a very non-pressured experience and the stylists genuinely care about helping you find the one no matter where that might be. I interacted with a few different ladies in my handful of visits there and they were all SO warm and welcoming. Their dresses are all brand new but still sold off the rack (designer overstocks, discontinued styles, even Private Labels that sell directly to Brilliant Bridal!) so not only do you get a smokin deal on designer gowns (typically 30-80% off!), but you're highly unlikely to see anyone else in your dress ANNND you get to take it home with you that day (which is awesome for SOS situations like mine! ). I can't say enough good things about this place - if you're considering checking them out for your dress, book an appointment!!! You're gonna love it. read more

I almost never write reviews but everyone needs to know about Kendra at Brilliant Bridal. I was in Phoenix for a work trip, had some down time, and randomly decided to book an appointment because I had been having a hard time finding a dress for my wedding in September and thought more research couldn't hurt. For context, I had already been to a few bridal shops including Amsale in NYC, where I live, and all of them made me feel weird and rushed and just like, not at ease in general. And then I walked into Brilliant Bridal in Mesa, Arizona, a place I had never been in my life, and met Kendra who has got to be the chillest stylist on planet earth. She immediately got me and what I was going for. She let me shop around on the racks (the dresses are in thick plastic dress bags) and then we just went from there. I tried on six or seven dresses but I ended up buying the first dress I tried on. It was perfect. Kendra talked me through what I might need for alterations etc. She had great advice, she was funny and personable, and she wasn't pushy at all. It was honestly so awesome. Get your dress here. The prices are reasonable (at least compared to New York), the stylists don't work on commission, and for a brief second you won't feel like yet another cog in the wedding industrial complex. Talk about the most serendipitous place and experience! Came here randomly while at a conference (referred by my friend from Arizona) because I was struggling to find a dress I loved and had been to SO many places. For some background, I've already gone to ~3 boutiques in LA but still hadn't found a dress. This boutique is amazing because it has designer dresses at discount prices, and the stylists here help you figure out how to customize it with alterations to really help your vision come to life. Now... my girl MICKEY. She so genuinely loves and is good at what she does. From the get-go she was so kind, warm, and helpful. She is upfront about everything down to what is or isn't possible with alterations, and is super knowledgeable. It's clear that the managers, Liz and Darla, set the tone and vibe. They're both so wonderful and clearly know their stuff. Rhee came over and gave me tons of tips and tricks for getting my dress exactly how I would want it. What makes this place a true GEM: - Calm, peaceful experience. I never felt pressured or like I was being "sold" something. Truly reflected by Mickey, Liz and Darla - Off the rack prices without sacrificing quality of customer service, the dress shopping experience, or dresses themselves AMAZING. 10/10 recommend to any bride out there!! read more

I walked in with no appointment looking for a veil, and Kendra helped me immediately. She showed me the collection, gave me some time to browse on my own, then discussed some other options for me afterwards. They have many dress racks and a lot of space for you to try on and hang out with your crew. Kendra was incredibly sweet, as were Peyton and Morgan (I think?).
