One of the best spots in the Pembroke Gardens Plaza. Brimstone Woodfire Grill is your upscale casual spot that has the best outdoor patio and lounge vibe. Great for celebrations, work happy hour and date nights. They have the best appetizers and excellent seafood. Can't go wrong with Brimstone. The ahi tuna nachos are one of my favorite appetizers. Three stars not four and I will tell you why. Reservation was ready when we got there, however, they had us in a noisy area so the seven of us decided to move to a quiet corner, which they accommodated. Server was lovely and maybe should've come back a few more times, when I asked the passing server for water, I got none. And the table was dirty. That is the three stars and not four. Additionally, my son went to the restroom, saw the bartender use the restroom, then proceed to leave without washing his hands. I could've taken another star off for that, however, since all the food was delicious i've left it at three stars. Every single person cleaned their plate. No leftovers to take home. Burger was perfectly cooked, flavorful, juicy, and my husband loved it. The star of the night was the marsala beef tips with mashed potatoes and asparagus, perfect soft, flavorful meat, delicious mashed potatoes. Chicken sandwich was delicious. I had the Ahi tuna mango salad, I thought the dressing was great and the tuna was flavorful and soft. Sometimes you get a ribbon through it, but there was none. Flatbed margarita Pizza was a hit with my daughter-in-law and the mahi with mashed potatoes for my son was perfect. He especially loved the plantain. I go up to Pembroke Pines pretty frequently for business lunches and I've been to Brimstone before. It was always above average, served it's purpose with a solid salad and sushi roll. I love the entree Kale salad they serve, it's flavor and texture is exceptional. The fried salmon roll is hit or miss, it's either perfectly rolled crisp outside and freshly firm in the middle or a torn up greasy disaster falling apart and mushy. The most uncomfortable part about eating here is that you never know what you're going to get. But let's talk about my first dinner experience here. Wow, I was not ready for this chaos. I've actually never seen or met a manager at this restaurant which is odd, but maybe because I was mostly a lunch client. But on a busy evening shift, you not only see them, you feel them and it is not pleasant. They are frantic, a little aggressive and lacking in the professional decorum and polish that you would expect from a high end steak house, and not only with guests, but with their own staff, which shouldn't be seen or heard by guests. The whole dinner experience felt hectic and rushed and while the server was kind, he was not very well versed about the menu and his lack of knowledge doesn't instill confidence when ordering. He would also get lost for long periods of time and when you have simple requests that are needed to enjoy your meal, you end up just eating it so the food won't get cold. In our case we were missing items that we ordered and would have liked another round of drinks. This restaurant is odd, it's certainly beautiful but there is an astonishing lack of preparation and professionalism by both the staff and management. The food was above average, we had a ribeye steak that was decent, not outstanding, and a tropical Mahi dish which was both original and delicious. The table next to us told us to get the Mahi because they were regulars, and their server, who is their friend told them not to never order the Salmon because the chefs microwave it to make sure that it's well done because it's on a plank of wood and usually comes out raw if they don't microwave it. Again, a totally uncomfortable dining experience. We wanted to try the bread pudding, but since so many things were missing, delayed or over all lack luster, we just cut our losses and asked for the check...which took another 10 minutes. We left pretty inconspicuous. No one said good night, but I can tell the staff are very good friends with each other because I could see several groups of them laughing and hanging out with their bartender friends down below the entrance at the big center bar. Nothing against friends and socializing but again, maybe not the best look in front of guests, during business hours and especially when there are potentially guests in limbo all around them like we were. read more

We had such a great experience at Brimstone for Bark & Brunch! It's refreshing to find a restaurant that doesn't just allow dogs, but actually makes them part of the experience. The covered patio is spacious and comfortable, the staff is incredibly welcoming to both the pups and their humans, and they offer a dog menu so the pups can have their own meal while everyone brunches. We especially appreciate Brimstone for continuing to create a space where the local dog community can get together. Came here on a Monday for their happy hour and honestly it was super good and worth the price! I sat pretty quickly as there was not too many people. Both apps were 10$ each they had a decent selection I got the tequenos and the steak bruschetta and the bottle of wine was Pinot Grigio and it was half off for their Monday wine special! I've been to Brimstone several times, and the food has always been consistently good--never disappointing. This visit, however, fell short of what I've come to expect. We were there for the office holiday party, and unfortunately several of the dishes, including the steaks, were noticeably over-salted--especially disappointing given the $70 price point per steak. The crab soup was also quite salty. I checked in with a few coworkers, and they shared the same experience. The Mexican corn side was overly salty as well, and the corn itself was watery. The crab cake portion was surprisingly small for the price. That said, the service was excellent. I hope this was just an off night in the kitchen, as Brimstone has set a much higher standard in the past. read more

I've stopped at this location a couple of times a while back for Yorkie meet ups and other dinners, and last night I had a chance to go with a friend for dinner. With the live music and casual vibe of the patio, it is perfect for an end of the week Friday date night! I enjoyed a glass of Merlot and she her usual Pinot Grigio. Mine had the right balance of refreshing a robust, and even though I am not a hard-core PG drinker. This one was actually not too dry. For an appetizer, we started with their perfectly crisp tostones topped with yummy well seasoned short rib. For an appetizer, the meat portion was actually pretty generous as far as the main, I ordered their BRG burger and added bacon and cheese having ordered medium well. Although it had a change of salt, their sweet barbecue sauce I ordered balance that out. The portion is large enough that half of it serves as my lunch this afternoon. We shared a basket of their sweet potato fries that came perfectly hot and fresh made. As I mentioned before they have a live, DJ ranging everything from hip-hop to freestyle Classics. Our server was pretty attentive and helpful, especially on the drink refills. Try to go early, as it does get packed as the evening wears on. read more

It's it also in the Pembroke gardens shops which is such a nice location. To drink I had a cucumbertini and it was strong and refreshing, so good! For appetizers we had the ceviche, spinach dip and tostones and my favorite was the ceviche! Yum! I got the mahi for my entree and it was ok. I probably should have gotten a steak but it the fish wasn't too bad but not my favorite. Also the service was awesome. They were on top of us and super nice. He checked in at all the right moments and made us feel truly taken care of. Food, Service, & Ambience were 5 star !!! Traveling from UM cancer center- Miami back to Fort Lauderdale ( after full body scans) we stopped to have lunch here. My nerves are usually on edge during this time (bi-annually) and my bestie had been here before- knowing I needed a serious "brighten my spirits" atmosphere- we dined here. Jesus- our waiter was SUPERB. His attentiveness was unmatched. He even got the manager to comp my dessert ( the bread pudding with raspberry glaze)... what a huge surprise- made my day. Outstanding!!! My wife and I sat at the bar on Friday night and were waited on by George and Yasha! George has waited on us before and is one of the best bartenders we've had! My wife says the Cosmopolitan he makes is the best she's ever had. I ordered the New York strip with a kale salad and loaded baked potato, and my wife ordered the jambalaya with rice. The steak was spot on perfect cooked and the kale salad is one of my favorites. My wife couldn't stop talking about the jambalaya and how happy she was with it. This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants. Another surprising thing that happened. As we were sitting eating and having a conversation with the bartenders, the general manager Bianca came out. She was absolutely the most friendly person. She talked to us about the restaurant and how they're moving forward and it was clear to me that she understands the importance of being supportive of the people that work for her. The bartenders could not stop saying enough nice things about her. It is so easy to understand how the restaurant moves so smoothly with a general manager like Bianca. Came in for happy hour to celebrate a co-workers promotion. It was my first time here so I didn't know what to expect. Now we were a big group and we didn't have reservations since for happy hour they didn't accept one. Happy hour is only outside and only in the high tops so it was really hard to get accommodation. The service was great and the staff helped us get tables together as they were getting empty. Happy hour menu was from 4-7 and there was a little bit of everything. I enjoyed the barbacoa chicken tacos , the steak bruschetta, the margarita flatbread and the royal peach drink. A couple of friends and myself stopped in for a quick lunch. I have been to brimstone for a happy hour, but never sat down to eat. It was lunchtime and we were seated pretty quickly. I ordered the chicken salad. My friend also ordered salads. The serving sizes are big and full of different toppings. The chicken was very tasteful. Brimstone birthday in a private room was the first time I ever came here, really different feel than the restaurant. This time I had to order the Tuna Tartar. It was fresh and layered high in a ponzu sauce. I would get this again! My girl had the vegetable sushi and it had spring salad in the center a little different than the sushi she has had before. She didn't like it. I had the short rib and I thought it was tender. There was a mushroom sauce around it reminded me of Marsala . My husband ordered the bone in ribeye. Came here for their puppy brunch which they host every first saturday of the month, and they did not disappoint!! The staff was so nice and attentive, the pups felt right at home! They even provided us with free dog food for our pups, how nice! We chose to eat in the patio sunce our fur babies were with us and the ambiance was amazing. The vibes were great! There is nothing not to love about Brimstone. It's a beautiful restaurant with amazing staff and even better food (and drinks). The menu has gotten so much more diverse over the years and yet it is equally as delicious. Their brunch is lovely, happy hour is great. I am hard pressed to find something I don't like about it. There is something for everyone and so many options just for you, too! The white chocolate bread pudding is to die for - seriously. It is that good. I also dream about the tuna tartare and jalapeño mac often! The passionfruit martini is sinful and I make mine spicy so it's so perfect. We got the crème brûlée last time and I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of it! Of course it was delicious. We moved to Georgia and brimstone is always the first on my list when I come back into town. The love runs real deep for this place and I look forward to many many more meals there. This was the worst dining experience I've had in years. The restaurant was not full, but it took 20 minutes for a server to greet us. The food took forever. My well done burger was almost raw and my dry asparagus was covered in oil. It took a very long time for the server to come back so I could ask him to fix it. A manager brought the food back out sbout 20 minutes later, but they didn't replate it. They threw the dry asparagus onto the oil already there from before and the burger was so well done it was like a hockey puck. I ate the burned burger and left the oily asparagus because both of my friends were done eating and annoyed that they couldn't get another drink. A fresh burger came out about 30 minutes after the hockey puck, which we said must not be ours because we already had our check. However, there was an extra burger on our check. Truthfully, there should have been no burger on our check instead of an extra burger. This place should be embarrassed! We will NEVER be back! I am editing this TO ADDRESS VITTORIA'S REPLY: 1) NO gift card was offered to us. In fact, if you look at the check I attached, you tried to bill us for an EXTRA burger. We weren't looking for anything free, just a nice meal. We drove 45 minutes to get there to meet family and have a nice meal. 2) You may have re-cooked the burger, and that's possibly what we turned away that arrived after we paid our bill, but what was given to me as a replacement was my meat patty reheated into a hockey puck with some oil-free asparagus thrown on the original oily plate. That lame fix should have been fast. Yes, if you cooked me a new burger with oil-free asparagus and plated it all on a fresh non-oily plate, it should have taken longer, but that's NOT what you did. 3) A manager did come to the table to say the burger would be out shortly, but NO manager came by the table after the hockey puck arrived on the to make sure everything was okay.... never. In fact, the server didn't even check back to see if it was okay until we were ready for the check. 4) Either you are a liar or have confused us with another table. read more

I came here on Friday for a work holiday celebration and I thought it was great as they were able to accommodate a few large parties on the same day. The staff was very helpful in setting up. To drink, I tried the passion fruit martini and it was delicious, you can barely taste the alcohol, which can be dangerous. As an appetizer, we tried the spinach dip, which tasted healthy and fresh. We also tried the picada board and everything was tasty. The sliced sirloin was a bit cold but it was still flavorful. My favorite thing from the board was the shrimp and andouille sausage. They were both delicious. The fried yuca was also crunchy and tasty. As the main entree, I tried the mahi napoleon and I was shocked big the mahi was. The passion fruit butter sauce elevated the fish and mash potatoes. This plate is definitely a great option for two people to share or have enough leftover for another meal. The service was okay. The food came out around the same time for everyone. However, my water was not refilled when I finished it; but, I understood why as the restaurant was full. I would still return to this establishment to try other entrees as it was hard for me to just choose one. read more
