[[HIGHLIGHT]]Bringer Inn is an absolutely gem of a community meeting space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked in on a Friday night and it was packed and lively with plenty of people![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had some fish fries, pizza and cold drinks while enjoying some of the games on. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. Gotta say, I'm really envious of all the people who live within walking distance, I'd be here every weekend!

This is really more of the food review since we didn't avail ourselves to the bar this time. I got the Reuben sandwich cause it had the star on the menu. It was alright but could've used a little (a lot?) more dressing. A lot of the others in the group ordered wraps so maybe that's the way to go? They have so many potato options (fries, chips, crinkle, curly, tots, etc) - and the chips, at least for me, was really fresh. Also, the prices are still pretty competitive - at least nowadays. It is one of the older establishments in town and it kinda is a little run down. I mean, some of it is character and some of it just a lot of loose extension cords running around.

This place is ok - nothing special. The food was good. The drinks were priced right, and I would go back. Afternoon burgers are tasty.

Pequod's Pizza is in my home town of Morton Grove, and I hadn't been there in over 50 years! I…read moreremembered the pizza as being exceptional, and had been talking about going back forever. It was a long standing joke between my husband and myself...could this pizza possibly live up to my expectations? And the answer is.... Yup! It is as good as I remembered it to be. The carmelized pan crust looks burnt (they even warn you on the menu that it's supposed to be black), but it's the best part of the pizza. The pizza/tomato sauce was extremely flavorful (not just plain tomatoes like Lou Malnatis or Rosatis). The sausage was delicious, and the onions were sweet. There was a ton of sausage, and lots of onions on the pizza--very generous portions. The mozzarella cheese appetizer was served very hot, and was pretty good. Basically...your typical frozen moz sticks. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. Service was very good. The only negative I can point out is there was an overwhelming mildewy smell when you approach and enter the restaurant. It was very off putting. Overall, this is the best pan pizza I've ever eaten, and as such, I highly recommend Pequod's.

Getting there wasn't the best start. Parking was a challenge, and since there were no available…read morespaces nearby, I had to park about a block away. It was a little frustrating, but I figured the walk would be good exercise before a big meal. The restaurant itself is small and has an older, cozy feel. The dining area is quite compact, so I wouldn't recommend it for large groups or parties. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We only saw our server three times: to take our order, deliver our food, and bring the check. In between, he was nowhere to be found. The lack of attentiveness and hospitality was disappointing. Thankfully, the deep dish pizza completely turned things around. The crust was crispy with a nice char, giving it excellent flavor and texture. The gooey cheese was evenly distributed throughout the pizza, and I appreciated that the sausage came in generous chunks instead of small crumbles. The tomato sauce was well balanced, neither too sweet nor too acidic which tied everything together beautifully. Despite the disappointing service, the pizza alone is worth coming back for. Next time, though, I'll probably order takeout. With service like this, leaving a tip didn't feel well deserved.

Make sure you read the signs since they can be confusing. Also, they accept any payment except for checks. Do people even bring their checkbooks into restaurants these days? lol. You can dine inside or outside. I believe they have a heated patio outside. We dined inside, it was a shame that we couldn't sit at the booth where Anthony Bourdain's picture is. It was occupied. We ordered cheese curds and a medium sized pizza. For toppings, we chose sausage, mushrooms, and fresh garlic. This is not deep dish pizza, I would say it's more of a pan style. It's not heavy like at Gino's East or Giordano's. It has that famous caramelized crust and that airy dough. The toppings were super fresh. We immediately tasted the garlic. Burt's own special blend of the sausage tasted homemade. If you dine in, they cut it for you. If you take it home, you should already have a pizza cutter in your kitchen. Don't be lazy, it's very inexpensive. The cheese curds were generous and very tasty. They're like bite size mozzarella sticks. Service was great and attentive. Prices were cheap.

The thicker, buttery pan-style crust and caramelized edges were delicious, and the cheese curds were some of the best I've ever had. The staff was great very friendly and attentive which made the experience even better. Service was quick, and everyone made us feel welcome. The patio was also a really nice touch and a perfect spot to enjoy a meal on a nice day. No wonder Anthony Bourdain called this the only deep dish pizza he ever loved. I would definitely go back.

I'm not sure why: maybe because…read moretheir menu was pretty extensive, and I was wondering if a place could do that many specials well. They definitely exceeded my expectations for all the items we ordered. I was particularly partial to their roasted brussel sprout appetizer and the thin crust Old School Italian pizza. It really hit the spot with Italian beef, sweet peppers, giardinera mix, and even two containers of au joux on the side. Honestly it was perfect to dip the crust into at the end of every slice. We ordered out, so I can't speak to the crowds or wait time inside, but the carry out experience was super efficient and no nonsense.
