Let me get out of the way that I, an out-of-stater, love me some Chicago deep dish pizza thus giving additional life to the stereotype it's basically a tourist thing. But for my first visit here since two days after WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic three years ago, I felt like the pie(s) here lost a step or so. I don't know whether it was because I was somewhat full from lunch earlier yesterday or that my allergies were kicking my [expletive]; I just didn't enjoy my personal deep dish of pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and giardiniera peppers. I still managed to consume two out of the four slices. Maybe on a good day, I'd wolf it down in the blink of an eye. Just to make sure I was tripping about the pizza, I decided to box it. I'd probably may like it in its leftover state. The sampler my cousin got was a great way to start our visit. I really dug the boneless chicken and the sauces that accompanied it. It's rare for me to issue three stars, but when I do, it's to say the place has what it takes to redeem itself in my eyes. read more

About a 1-1.5: Not sure what happened, but Giordano's has been really missing the mark the past few times we've ordered the pizza here. This place has always been our go-to for deep dish, but the past few experiences made us realize that we need to find a replacement, stat! We came here for an earlier dinner, and we ordered: +the Giordano's Sampler - this came with boneless chicken nuggets, mozzarella triangles, and cheesy garlic bread; instead of choosing between the two, both the Buffalo and the BBQ sauce came with for dipping; the chicken nuggets were okay, and the mozzarella triangles were fine; the cheesy garlic bread had a weird green tinge to it - I thought it was just overly burnt bread and the lighting, but something strange was going on with this item; it just did not taste good, and the cheese tasted like toilet water! +a Fresh Spinach deep dish - the pizza seemed to not have come out piping out - it had the string pull, but the pizza was lukewarm as best, and it does get cold quickly, regardless of how quickly you eat your slice; the cheese could have been more melty Service was friendly, and we were checked in constantly throughout; it was to the point where it's like, come on, let us enjoy catching up. We felt as they were trying to turn over the table, but it wasn't a busy night. The booth seating is also extremely tight; the seating are movable, and I feel as if they try to pack as much of these in this part of the dining area and the normal chair-and-table would have been more comfortable. I usually order pizzas to go from Giordano's but came dined in recently. There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived (5 PM) but it filled up after about an hour. I asked for a booster chair for our child but it was filthy and wanted some napkins to wipe it down. After I asked our waitress for napkins she disappeared but didn't reappear until our pizza came out. We ordered deep dish pizza and it took over an hour for it to cook. She seemed to have forgotten about the napkins and we were missing dishware/plates so had to ask her for those items as well. I will acknowledge that it was busy but our waitress was hardly anywhere to be seen so we had to keep flagging down another waitress/waiter for more water, to go boxes, and the check. Ordered Parmesian fries, fries were not done enough. Ordered chicken wings, not to my liking but my son whos bday we were celebrating enjoyed the wings. Ordered 2 deep dish pizzas. Ordered chicken sausage,mushroom and spinach. Came out with cut up chicken breast. Requested the restaurant remake. Ordered Spinach sausage deep dish. There was a minimal amount of cheese and a minimal amout of sausage. I have pictures. We ask the waitress and she said ut was the standard amount which clearly was untrue. I tired this location for the first time and it will also be the last time. Two stars inly because they got the pan pizza right, but the customer service and the entree salad we ordered were unsatisfactory... I entered the restaurant where the ambiance was a bit concerning as it was void of patrons except for a table of elderly women playing a card game, but not eating any food. It was very lonely inside. I walked to the counter where there were no employees to be found. I stood there for a while until the hostess walked out from the kitchen area and coldly asked me what i needed. No "hello! Welcome to Giordanos" or "hey there how can i help you?" something along those lines. Even a kind smile would have sufficed, but no smile found here, just a cold blank stare... yikes. So I informed the hostess that i had ordered online, and she told me to wait because it wasn't ready yet.. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I received my order. I noticed that the entree salad was not packaged in the normal container, but a paper box and it was noticeably smaller. I informed the hostess that the salad looked smaller and was not in its normal carryout packaging. She just said that that is what I ordered and began to walk away. I reminded her that i also asked for plates, utensils and red pepper/ parmesan packets. She turned back to me and rolled her eyes and only gave me the packets... at this point i didn't want to deal with her any longer. So i walked out confused by the hostess's attitude wondering if she was just that way or if she was offended somehow, although i remained cordial throughout the interaction. I arrived to my car and was still perplexed by the salad so I opened it to make sure it was the correct order. When I opened it I noticed that the crispy chicken tenders were not crispy or tender but cold wet pieces of chicken. I went back inside and informed them that the order was wrong. She took the salad back and ask me to wait until the chicken was ready. I sat down again. Finally the salad was ready. I checked it before i left and noticed that the chicken tenders looked like cut up fried chicken instead of the usual chicken. When i arrived home the salad wasn't even prepared correctly as it had different vegetables in it. What happened to Giordanos?? Best ever pizza?? Typically, if I wanted Giordanos, I would try the downtown or Rosemont location which have always been consistently delicious. Honestly, I prefer authentic Chicago tavern style pizza from old school pizza places downtown. Sadly, I was in the suburbs but still happy when I saw Giordanos. And due to a keto healthy kick, I do not have pizza often. When I do, I savor it. This particular day, my keto diet didn't suffer. The pizza was awful. I know, is any pizza bad? Usually I would say no. But honestly it wasn't edible. It was truly the worst pizza I have ever had. I feel a little ripped off even. Like taking money and just throwing it away. Which in this economy isn't ideal. Anyway, go to a different location or a different place all together. Or try it and report back- maybe it was an off day. You will see from the photos it looks like they ran out of ingredients. The cheese is usually the best part. Not this time. Sparse cheese on a cheese pizza. Sauce only in the middle towards one side. We loved the food here we ordered the sampler and thin crust pizza to make sure we tried a bit of everything, the triangle squares were delicious and the thin crust pizza was cooked perfectly. We also loved the bruschetta. The space was nice and big and plenty of parking, we were seated quickly and the place started to get packed soon after we arrived around 6:30. Our server Carmen was super nice and explained the menu and options for the first timers in the group, she was handling what seemed the whole restaurant, that woman deserves a raise. We had two servers one experienced one in training and they both did a great job. We had leftovers for three days. I have been eating here for well over 40 years, so its about time to review. 5 stars consistantly, I highly recommend. I have never had a bad experience. I have to say, when ordering online, it never seems to be correct. I've ordered stuffed with half cheese and half mushroom, onion, green pepper and it always seems to be full toppings on the whole thing not half cheese. Whenever this happened, I spoke to management and they were always accommodating and made it right. I now only order on the phone. I've gotten only their pizzas and calamari. I always get, and prefer their stuffed pizza over all, but their thin and extra thin are good also. Cheesy, delicious, goodness consistantly. Calamari was also good, but I wish they had half orders. COVID-19 UPDATED 5/13/21 Only 6 people to a table at a time...You can sit 2 tables of 6 together but with a 3 foot gap between tables. Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes are given in packet form per request. No paper menus, only digital menus. Had the Chicago Special Deep Dish and Thin Crust, and they were both amazing! Iwe used to order from this location all the time even during COVID, but the last 2 orders we received, the house salad with parmesan cheese and choice of grilled chicken or crispy chicken I ordered never came with any chicken of any kind. The entire salad was made up of only arugula and not the normal mixture. They gave me 1/2 as much salad as usual, no chicken at all. I called and they compd me. But now left eating nothing for dinner. I have dressings from the last messed up order still in the fridge and now I've put the second set of dressings next to them. Hopefully I'll be able to use them before they go bad. I don't know what happened with the salad so I don't want to eat it. I'll just dump it. It's worthless without any ingredients. Good food, really hit or miss (mostly miss) service at this location. The food was what I expect from Giordano's, a delicious pizza that you know is going to hit your tummy like a flavor bomb. The restaurant itself is really nice, roomier than others I've been to but with the spirit of the chain - you know where you are right away. This was my kids' first visit, and they loved it. But the service was terrible. We had to ask multiple times for simple things, and one of my kids spilled their whole drink and she brought two little napkins to clean it up and we had to ask for more. This happened with other things like silverware and clean plates . She kept wandering off, and it took longer to get our food than it should have because she kept putting off taking the order. That made things take a lot longer than it should have. Maybe there was a language barrier, but I don't think so - one of the other servers seemed to notice and was trying to prod her. So I'd definitely come here again, but I'd stay away from that server.. read more

Some things don't change! Seven years later, and I still recommend that stuffed spinach, sausage, and mushroom combo! Ya got your veggies, your protein, the dairy... it's a pretty balanced meal if you ask me. Most recently, we tried fresh garlic and got our money's worth there. Be gone, vampires! Online ordering makes it easy to place a pick up or delivery meal! Flaky, buttery crust with gooey mozzarella cheese. It's a hearty meal you have to eat with a fork and knife. How could dinner at 5pm go so wrong? The ratings are accurate. This is place is the pits. It took 20 minutes to get water and someone to take our order. It took 70 minutes from the tine we ordered to get a small pizza and even then, the wrong pizza was brought to our table. Luckily, we did not dig in as soon as it arrived because everyone's order had not arrived. 3-5 minutes later, the server, Anastasia stopped back not to bring the other food, but to say she brought us the wrong pizza. She took it back, of course and gave it to the other table. A few minutes more passed before "our" pizza arrived still without the rest of the food. After waiting minutes or more, we were convinced to start eating the pizza before before the others food arrived to avoid eating it cold. The pizza was very cheesy which I liked but the veggies on the pizza were the largest veggies I have ever witnessed on pizza. Too big. :/ Nothing was done without being asked. We had to ask for refills when glasses were visibly empty. And even then, it took ten minutes longer for water. There was never any apology or recognition of the poor service provided, which made the experience all the more disappointing. We ended up ordering our pizza about 10 minutes after we got onto the wait list. We ordered 2 deep dish pizzas and a thin crust pizza. about an hour after waiting we still hadn't been sat We asked the manager at the front when we were going to be sat and we also asked how much longer on our pizzas just went into the oven 5 minutes prior to asking. I called on a Sunday . talked to a gentleman named Steve. I asked about the size of the pizzas . He seemed to not want to answer but we got the order placed .42 plus dollars. he said a hour tops but probably a lot quicker. I don't mind waiting as long as my food is hot. called over a hour later to get status . The young man said on the way. I asked him to be more specific. He said he didn't know that driver had a few deliveries before me.He then said he would call driver. put me on hold for a while. a man named Dominick came on phone and said he was the manager and they were late but driver would be there in 5 to 10 minutes but he had no way to communicate.A disheveled driver showed Up 20 minutes later caring the food sideway in bag. An OK experience. Pizzas were good but there were so much cheese on them that I felt full after a couple of bites. And I love cheese but this was just too much. Not many healthy options on the menu like one would expect and I don't think people are coming here to eat healthy so it is understandable. I had no complaints but also nothing impressed me to come back here again. Inconsistent. Sometimes I'd get a thick, cheesy pizza baked to perfection. Other times I get a cold, dry wheel of cheese with some sauce in the middle and bread on the rim. Not really sure what's going on here, but this Giordano's seems to be making less flavorful and enjoyable pizzas than other locations. I always somehow end up here when there are people visiting from out of town. I guess it's one of the more classic places for Chicago Deep Dish Pizza that is more conveniently located (for me anyway). My experiences here have all been pretty similar. Service has been pretty decent. Their fried appetizers are pretty good, especially the Calamari. But most people come here for the Pizza. Deep dish is of course the way to go. I would definitely recommend either the Fresh Spinach or the Special (sausage, mushrooms, onions, & green peppers). Just be warned though, the deep dish pizza does take a while so it's probably better to have an idea of what you want to order before getting there. read more
