We came here mid week and got to sample a couple of their lunch specials. This pub has been here forever -- at least in Florida terms. I remember trying to come here many years back and leaving because it was packed and extra smoky. It's changed somewhat over the years -- much less rowdy and certainly non smoking inside these days -- especially during the week mid day. We had good service sitting at the bar. They have a decent number of lunch specials -- and some others at night featured on their blackboards. They have quite a few beers, local and imported, but he went with a traditional harps. I chose their crock of shepherds pie. It came with one side and I opted for salad. The side salad was huge with all sorts of veggies. The crock was mashed potatoes on top of ground beef and peas. It was a bit dry so I requested some extra brown gravy which made it much better. He had their bangers and mash. Some fat sausages (like hot dogs) along with mashed potatoes. The food was filling and decent, but not epic. The prices were very reasonable. It was a nice way to take a break from the Florida sun. And good if you're at the beach and looking for an inexpensive and casual meal. read more

Right off the beach, a little pub Brinys stands alone on the corner. Grab some craft burgers, fried delicious grub, steaks or just swing some beers back this is solid spot to check out. The evening I enjoyed here, was shared with friends jammin to a live solo Guitar artist and a full house of patrons enjoy libations. Sunday and Jim taking care of everyone, it seemed all of us were in tuned, sung a long w the music, shared shots. In a world where everything was just dark this was a great light of hope for more places to enjoy like that. Enjoyed the sampler app and the egg rolls, didn't want to go full meal as I was enjoying the drinks more. The local vibes are strong, food was on point and other dishes all looked appetizing. Located east of A1A on Atlantic Blvd in Pompano, Briny Irish Pub is just across the local beach; so even when it is hot, there's always a breeze helping a bit. You can't miss the long green roof; walk inside and it's like a little magic world: decorations are all over the place, the ambiance is homey, warm and really picturesque. Sometimes at the end of bar they have some live music act. The place looks a bit crammed, maybe because of its long and narrow shape, but more likely because it's always packed. They clearly benefit from some casual beach-goers but they live mostly on regular customers coming back all the time. The food is very good for a small pub; burgers are good and cooked as ordered, my wife had one of the best shepherd's pie she ever tasted, according to her. Good choice of beers and a friendly service make it for a really nice stop, a place where to relax without pretentiousness but with good honest beer, food and service. It's a bit out of our way, but when we are back in the area we will visit again. It's one of those small local places that are worth visiting and I like much, much more than the typical South Florida huge bar where space abounds but personality lacks. read more

What a great finding! We stopped in this Irish pub on a Sunday for dinner. The place was packed but we did find a couple of places at the bar, which is located at the center of the relatively small dining room. The pub is located just across Pompano's beach (parking was not easy to find!). You can tell that it's a very old building (apparently the pub is there since 1969); its décor inside is not the typical Irish one, it's a beachside theme, but very beautiful nevertheless. More importantly, the food was very good (I really enjoyed my Shepherd Pie) and they have a nice variety of beers. The staff was very attentive and there was even live music that day. We stop at this spot every time we're in town. Kristen was our bartender today and she was great- welcoming, friendly, and accommodating! We ordered and split an order of fish n chips and a corned beef Reuben with tater tots. Everything was so tasty and cooked perfectly. The batter on the fish was golden and crisp. The Reuben was just the right amount of gooey and cheesy. Definitely recommend Briny! read more

This is a cool beach, Irish Pub with lots of nautical character. I went straight to the front to dance to the band. Up close and personal!! One of those old, low ceiling dive bars!! Sure it was warm in there! Sure it was standing room only! But that's all I wanted! A two member band it's probably all they can fit on that stage. But it works! I was totally pleasantly surprised! I am not going to lie but we were sketchy about going to Briny at first because we thought it was a local dive, but we heard good things from some locals, and we are glad we did! The bar itself is huge and cool looking! The music is great and we had a blast! The place was packed with people who appeared to be locals and few were a little loud and rowdy but overall everyone seemed friendly. We were lucky to get a table due to Monday being their Prime Rib night, we didn't get a chance to try it because they were sold out. We started with a couple beers and we got the Reuben egg rolls and fried shrimp as an appetizer and they were good, I just wish we would have got more with the egg rolls because they were delicious. For our main dishes my husband got the New York strip steak and he really enjoyed it and said it was delicious no complaints the mashed potatoes and gravy were great with the steak. I got the corned beef and Swiss sandwich with a side of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. My sandwich was okay, it was shaved corned beef from the deli on rye with Swiss nothing special. I was actually super happy that my husband ordered me the side of mashed potatoes and coleslaw because I really enjoyed those. The mashed potatoes and gravy reminded us of our childhood they are comforting and yummy! The coleslaw was really great! I like to think of myself as a coleslaw connoisseur and this place really makes a good coleslaw with the perfect balance of sweet and creamy but not too much! Try it and let me know if you liked it. The service was great even with the place being packed and we really enjoyed our waitress she was so sweet and kind! We recommend this place for some beers and a good bar meal! Always a great time when we go during slow season. The Briny gets super packed on the weekend or busy season. Staff is always amazing and the food certainly complements the good vibe. The baked potato and fish were perfect- hot and seasoned perfectly. I sat at a high table near the bar. She had an Irish accent and called me 'luv.' The pub is very much that. Dark, nautical theme and songs from the past played at a volume that allowed for conversation though I ate alone. I ordered fish and ships and a Harp. I didn't even know there was a lunch size platter and my lunch and 16 ounce Harp came to $17.70 with tax. I listened to locals enjoying each other's company and felt at home. Sooo this was definitely a dive bar. It was super crowded when we first arrived but we were lucky that we got a good seats at the bar. Our bartender had great service very fast we ate the steak eggrolls they were ok We also had the sampler, which I found pretty good nothing special. I did like the live band! This place was GREAT!!!! I went there on a recommendation of a good friend and was pleasantly surprised. Upon entry, we were pleasantly greeted by Maggie. She guided us to our table and immediately asked us if we had any drink preferences. We got our drinks right away. The food was tremendous. I ordered shepherds pie. It was delicious!!! My friend ordered an equally delicious hamburger. Fries were great also. To top the fabulous service, Maggie asked us if we parked in the parking lot to the SOUTH of their building (which we did). We went on Memorial and the staff was friendly the drinks were cold and delicious. They know how to pour a Guinness here for sure. Who doesn't like this place! Great location, always packed. But everyone is always having fun. The feel of an Irish mariner bar is there with all the maritime decor. The staff is quick to get through the mass of people making sure your hand has a drink. Every time I'm there a band is playing except for the time I was asked I played a guitar "I don't" because the guitarist quick on the spot. The food is great for bar food.
