    Beef hash
    Jen S.

Ambiance: Clean and comfortable, interesting mural and art pieces on the walls. Food: I had the hash plate (~$20) and my husband had the special, the farmers breakfast with coffee for $11.50. Felt like a great value for San Francisco as we were both very full after. Food was well seasoned and very tasty. The hash was fatty and especially filling. Coffee was also really strong and not bitter. Service: We had a Turkish waitress that was very nice and refilled coffee promptly. Recommendation: Yes I recommend this place for breakfast and would come again.

great neighborhood brunch spot! the food took a little longer to come out but it wasn't too bad. the crab's benedict ($20) was decent, although you could tell the crab was canned (a bit dry and flaky). the french toast orgy ($17.50) was good but the orange-spiced flavor in the french toast was completely overwhelmed by the yogurt and granola

Grilled cheese and their " house fries???"

Atmosphere was inviting, friendly, definitely a good vibe for a local spot. Great for breakfast and lunch. Prices are good. I ordered their Grilled cheese with whole wheat bread and tomatoes and basil amd pesto sauce, delicious. Service is just OK. My server was not very knowledgeable of menu. I asked what are my side choices, he said fruit, salad, or French fries. When I asked what is on the salad he hesitated, so I just ordered fries. When my plate came out it had roasted potatoes. I told him I ordered fries and he said " oh yea, those ARE the house fries ... sorry " im thinking these are not fries at all. So I ate the sandwich and left the potatoes. To get to bathroom you have to walk thru the small kitchen area. Not very safe. Im glad I tried this spot, cause Im always up for trying new things, but I dont think im coming back

Kate's is a neighbourhood gem. The owner and wait staff are always so friendly and welcoming. The food is great breakfast and lunch fare, creative and everything is homemade from smoothies to sausage. My new favorite is the zaatar avocado toast. It comes with 2 eggs any style, home fries and feta and olive crumbles. Delicious and perfect in every way!

Independent little diner in the Lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco. Warm, homey atmosphere with friendly service and a budget friendly menu.

I love this place so much, we came back with friends. I had the New England Flannel Hash (corned beef hash) again because it was so good last time, and it did not disappoint. My friend had the banana nut pancakes, and they were the size of the plate and did not skimp on bananas or nuts. Another friend had the Shakshuka with chicken and said it was delicious. Service is fast, and the food comes out hot. If you are in need of breakfast, would definitely recommend Kate's Kitchen.

Dined as a party of 3 for Sunday breakfast recently, but have been going here for years when I lived nearby. It's a quirky restaurant (you'll have to go through the kitchen to use the restroom) with a large mural of the United States. Aside from the printed menu, make sure to check the boards above the counter for seasonal or daily specials. Service was friendly and attentive. If you like sausage, get their house made sausage patty on the side of whatever you order! Yum!

    Veggie Scramble

We went here for Sunday brunch, and were seated in less than 10 minutes. The server Melody was super friendly and was prompt at serving us. We ordered strawberry banana and lemon curd pancakes, vegetable scramble, a side of bacon and shakshuka. Everything was delicious and even the coffee was great. Not the water down diner kind!! The place is very homey and cozy. A little tight on space but the food is delicious. The service was also very friendly and we enjoyed the experience. Only small complaint is the bathroom. It could use a little update. This place is a definite gem and we will return.

Super cute and the service is amazing! So friendly from the minute we walked in. The food was delicious! They also have a variety of fresh squeezed juices and smoothies.

Tasty and it really hit the spot. Great coffee too! Dinner consisted of a flavorful beef Mussamun chili dish. Awesomely tender beef in a savory sauce. A Stella Artois worked well for my drink. A charming little bistro inspired by the Marlowe cows, I'm assuming, managed to stun us with several memorable dishes. The warm deviled eggs were an excellent start. Savory yet delicate enough to not weigh us down right at the beginning of our meal. The horseradish aioli wasn't for me, but I can see its appeal for a certain audience. You give me a Calabrian chili sauce and it's guaranteed to make me happy and this shrimp with sweet corn was no exception. Again, light but a punchy flavor that was enjoyable. I could go on and on about the different dishes we tried but the real standout of the night was the pork tenderloin with chorizo and peaches. The sweetness from the peaches somehow managed to enhance the flavor of the chorizo. This dish gives you a bold, savory and sweet bite all together but still won't have you feeling super heavy. The portion size is perfect. Im hoping to return soon for another exquisite meal.

The french onion soup was satifying with appropriate viscosity. My mom and my kids loved the penne alla vodka. Went back the next morning for a latte for my lady and she liked that as well. This time, we came on a weekday around 1:30 PM and waited about 30 minutes. Fair warning: expect a wait regardless! There are no online or app reservations--you'll need to show up in person and have the host add you to the waitlist. Based on our two visits, coming on a weekday and later in the day seems much more manageable. Both of us ordered The Plow with the house-made pork sausage, which comes with eggs, Plow potatoes, and lemon ricotta pancakes. Such a satisfying meal! The house-made pork sausage patties were juicy and packed with flavor. The Plow potatoes tasted fresh and were crispy, crunchy, and rustic. The lemon ricotta pancakes were a great way to finish the meal--after all the savory flavors from the eggs, potatoes, and sausage, the pancakes with maple syrup were the perfect sweet ending. We also both got the cold brew with oat milk. Strong and really good--exactly how we like our cold brew! Service: Great! Everyone was friendly and attentive, and they checked in on us frequently even though the restaurant was busy. Ambiance: Plow is a relatively small restaurant, but it still feels clean, spacious, and bright. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. The bathroom was also very clean, but just a heads-up that there's only one restroom for the entire restaurant, so you may have to wait. Overall, 5/5! We've enjoyed Plow both times we've visited.
