Morning Due is a staple. The owners are great people and treat you like family, I've been dining here for decades. I am born and raised in the city 60yrs. I've dined everywhere and this is one of my favorite places, I would bring my 93 yrs old Mom for pancakes every M,W, F, before her passing in July of this year, and she just adored Morning Due! This corner cafe really brightened my morning. I ordered the avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese omelette. The service and ambiance were friendly and vibrant. I could tell locals love this place. The owners and staff recognize the locals and make every customer feel at home. The pro-move is to call your order in and it'll be ready when you arrive! The omelette presentation was serene. We came here for breakfast, near Dolores Park and it is a cute restaurant. Love the way they decorated the place. You order by the counter and they bring the food to you. The man in the counter was really nice and gave us a few recommendations. Their menu is extensive and I felt overwhelmed. So we ordered the Dutch which is salmon Benedict and Cajun egg frittata with the Italian sausage. To me the Benedict was not what I thought it would taste. The salmon was very salty and the hollandaise sauce was okay. It was bland actually but it's okay for breakfast. The Cajun Frittata was good and the sausage was delicious. When visiting one of my friends in San Francisco, she suggested this spot, and I was impressed! I ordered the breakfast burrito without cheese, so it had chorizo, eggs, and house potatoes inside. I was expecting ground chorizo, so was surprised to see chorizo chunks inside! I almost would've preferred ground chorizo for the texture. However, the burrito was delicious overall, and for the price, the size wasn't bad at all! The service was pretty quick overall. This place is a small corner cafe. That being said it's bright thanks to the decor and windows. I have been coming here for many years and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly and know their way around an espresso machine. Today, I tried the breakfast burrito and it was awesome. Everything inside was cooked to perfection, even the Potatoes. I usually order a crepe and highly recommend trying one when you go! My friends often order the Benedicts and are always happy. Picky Pete here I had the cheeseburger well done with fries. Well cooked, and seasoned. Usually burgers at restaurants lack flavor, but this one did not. It's a good thing we parked a good distance away, because I was stuffed. Needed that walk! My brother had the quinoa salad, and the chicken tortilla soup. He said it was good, and the soup had hearty pieces of chicken. The service was great, the owners made us feel very welcome. Although I did get made fun of for being a picky eater . I simply loved being at Morning Due, from the moment a bright-eyed, man wearing a San Francisco Giants cap and sitting at a small table to the right of the restaurant's side door, greeted me with a smile and, in response to my query, assured me that my car was indeed legally-parked. That was Joel, who along with his wife, owns Morning Due. I had led a sight-challenged friend inside to a table. Stopped here for lunch while we were in the neighborhood and they didn't disappoint! My friend had the Benedict and I had the Chicken Club Wrap and we were each very happy with our choices except my friend would've preferred a more traditional hollandaise sauce on her benedict rather than the one used. My wrap was very delicious and I was totally happy with my choice. It was very generously stuffed with chicken with a sufficient amount of bacon and avocado. It certainly tingled my tastebuds when I bit into it the first time! The fries were perfectly cooked, too. Service was totally friendly and efficient and the whole dining room was neat and clean. I would only recommend this place, legit, only to my worst enemies. The food is beyond mediocre and unfortunately, the customer service matches exactly that. For over a few years now (about 20+ visits), I have given this spot so so many chances out of consideration of my friends who wanted to give it a shot; but each and every time, it is a complete dissapointment. In terms of the food, I've had pretty much every item - from the salads and pastas, to the breakfast items. To be frank - bland and not worth it/expensive. In terms of the customer service, as often as I've been here, for some reason, the family who works there (especially the woman/daughter here) loves to chat with whoever I am with. As a fair test, I've always been kind respectful, but she will always only greet whoever I am with, try to go into lengthy chats with them, and completely ignore me. Even if I'm the one paying and ordering, she would ask my partner at the time - "do you want anything else?". Not to jump to conclusions, but I have a feeling they tend to want to engage and accomodate to a certain demographic over others and it's been consistently obvious. So, in short, I really have bit my tongue on writing this review until I had a fair 20+ chances with 10+ friends/dates/whoever and I definitely cannot recommend this place to anyone. Love this little neighborhood gem. Can't believe it's been a year since I have been back. Glad to see the place very full and vibrant. The owner is so sweet and always remembers a face. Service is fast & efficient. Food presentation is lovely and portions plentiful. Today I had the Avocado, Bacon and Cheese Omelet. First let me say it was good and taters were nicely seasoned and fried to a golden brown. Whole meal was "hot" except the barely warm toast. But and here is the "but" of my meal. Omelette wasn't an Omelet in the true sense of being light and fluffy. It was a flat fried frittata with the avocado on top. Nothing fluffy about it. Kind of sad, really. Secondly the toast comes unbuttered, which is o.k. I guess and more the norm these days - but - the butter on the side, in packets is ice cold and almost frozen. Which is impossible to spread on lukewarm toast. So if the owner is reading this, maybe a) have your chef / cook be taught the proper way to "cook an omelette" and "secondly", put the pats of butter on the table or pull it out 1st thing, so it's at least room temp for folks to use. My Latte was good, so nice job and decent coffee. read more

Absolutely amazing! The owners are so kind, and friendly. I got a burger and it was definitely one of, if not the BEST burgers I've had. And the Café was gorgeous, with a green and brown color scheme. The prices were fair, considering most of all of the food is homemade. For me the first thing you see was a huge menu that as a dyslexic found impossible to read because it was so black and white and huge but I asked for something easier to read. I got excited by the California Omelette because I thought it would be fresh and delicious and full of colour, it wasn't. It was drab and not much flavour. The ambience was fine but I wanted to try it because I always see a friend going there after work (we both are night shifters) but I guess he just goes there because it's close to his house. Also, for a diner getting a cup a coffee in a large glass was weird, and the coffee was very meh. The whole place was meh. I guess I am just used to diners in SF being fun and tasty. They actually squeezed the orange and no added extra sugar:) The place is good, but because we ordered on grub hub, with everything combined came out to a lot more than normal- but that could be because we got it delivered. And the portions weren't too big(according to my boyfriend), but was plenty enough for me!! We were wandering around the area looking for a brunch spot and ended up finding this place. There's some tables outside to enjoy your meal, as well as some indoor seating. The menu has a lot of variety, so it can cater to many different people. The huevos con chorizo were good and tasted like a typical scramble. The blackstone Benedict had nicely poached eggs and was also yummy. For both dishes, the potatoes were decent -- I like mine a bit more crispy and roasted, but that's just a personal preferences. I also thought the toast didn't seem to be toasted enough. The food here is very typical brunch food: I didn't think the dishes were particularly unique, but they definitely satisfied us in what we were looking for.
