Met a Middle School friend I haven't seen in many years for coffee while I am in town Picked this place because it is as close to a half way point as Incan get. Coffee is delicious, the spinach cheese pastry was delicious. I wish they had free coffee refills. Or told us if they do. Would come again!!

You know the feeling you get when you find that place that's like Cheer's, where everyone makes you feel welcomed as you walk in--there Brioni's! I found this restaurant over 10yrs ago when I worked in the area; imagine my delight when I drove past and found them still there. Stopped by for a takeout sandwich, and was so happy to see the same staff still working here over a decade later! I love the staff, love the food, and love this little cafe!! If you're in the area stop by and try their amazing soups, and I highly recommend their Reuben!!

LeRoy: Well I had a wonderful cup of chicken wild rice soup. It was excellent. Along with a slice of wonderful bread and butter. And then I had a grilled turkey club on sourdough bread, enough for two people! Excellent again!!! I give it a five. Katie: I tasted the butternut squash soup. Now I have tasted all of the butternut squash soup in the area, and this one is probably the best one! The pesto chicken sandwich half was plenty for a meal. My only complaint is that I could not taste the pesto, but it seems like maybe they forgot to put it on, but overall it was delicious. The staff was very friendly as well. Caitlin: I ordered the pesto mozzarella sandwich. I asked to have it grilled, but the mozzarella chunks were so thick that the inside of the sandwich was still cold. I'm not saying the sandwich tasted bad - in fact it was extremely tasty!! But now knowing how thick the mozzarella is I'd ask them to please grill it until the cheese is melty.

Service was fast, friendly, the place is nice, but we were not happy with the food, I have always like the feta cheese but their feta cheese in my omelette was sour, like it was about to get bad. The server was very nice and she sent one of the cooks out to tell us they just received the Feta cheese the day prior and that they will make another meal in place of it, we declined, we didn't get charge for it. The toast is good, the breakfast sandwich (croissant) was fresh but it had bacon bits instead a bacon slice, the eggs (omelette) were dry.

One of the best Reuben sandwiches in this area. And the service is fast, which works well with my schedule.

Not a real Jewish style deli but decent. More like a sandwich shop. Not open on Sundays which is a little weird for a deli. Friendly staff.

A nice family owned restaurant with fabulous espresso. Their baked goods come from Zimmermans, the famous bakery in Ann Arbor.

It's a unique setup as a gas station, market, deli, and bistro all in one, and they definitely offer a ton of options. The selection is honestly one of their biggest strengths--whether it's groceries, prepared foods, or drinks, there's a lot to choose from. That said, the prices are noticeably high across the board, especially for gas and everyday grocery items. The food-to-go section is where things start to fall off. It always looks solid in the case, but somehow never tastes as good as it should. It's not terrible--it's just consistently underwhelming. The bistro itself is decent, but nothing special. If you've had Middle Eastern-style grill spots before, you've had this. Plenty of lamb and shawarma options, but nothing that really stands out. The one exception: the Thai peanut chicken wings and the shoestring fries are actually really good and worth ordering. They also advertise a huge beer selection--something like 100 options--but in reality, the taps are rarely all running, which takes away from what could be a big highlight. One thing that stood out on my last visit was how strong the smell of cleaner was inside. It was almost overpowering and made it tough to sit and enjoy a meal. On the flip side, it was definitely clean--maybe just a little too clean in that moment. Overall, Alex's Market & Grill has a lot of potential with its variety and concept, but it ends up being more average than it looks at first glance. Good in a pinch, but not somewhere you go out of your way for.

Walking in was honestly a bit overstimulating--there's a lot going on right at the entrance with…read moreitems everywhere, which made it feel a little chaotic at first. We went upstairs to eat around 1 PM on a Thursday, so it wasn't particularly busy. Unfortunately, they had already "run out" of a few key items, including the Dubai Espresso Martini and bone-in wings. That was confusing, especially considering there's a grocery store downstairs--it didn't quite add up and was disappointing. The service itself was great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but she didn't seem very familiar with the menu and couldn't offer recommendations, which would have helped since it was our first time. As for the food: the boom boom shrimp and lamb sliders were both good and definitely the highlights. However, the fish tacos were extremely salty--so much so that I couldn't finish them. Overall, the vibe is cool and I'd consider coming back for drinks, but based on this experience, I don't think I'd return for the food. We do appreciate the free dessert, I'm just still hungry

My favorites are the Reuben, the Georgia Reuben, and Tarb's Tenacious Tenure. The latkes and knishes are also fantastic. There was a period where the bread was so sharp it felt like my mouth was getting cut up every time I ate there, which honestly became part of the experience. But the past few times I've gone, the bread has been perfect. Zingerman's Deli lives up to the hype.

So while it was chaotic and overwhelming, the workers would hand you a menu, explain the purchasing process and even give you requested samples! Due to trying a sample of their pretzel, I ended buying a bag. An $8 bag!!! It was perfectly crunchy and buttery and very good! I don't even like pretzels and these impressed me. Also got a $9 bag of only 5 palmier cookies. They were good but definitely a splurge. BF bought a small bottle of balsamic vinegar for $23, like wut?! I eyed a jar of salsa for $28 and jam for $16 but damn, everything was way above even farmer's market prices. The sandwiches start at $18 for a small and go to $24 for a large. BF and I got the chicken avocado on challah bread and a new crunchy pickle. Zingerman's does a good job with their pickles! Skins were a little too hard but I love that they're not overly pickled and still crunchy and not too much other seasoning. For $21, the sandwich was not very big and they don't include chips or fries. If I lived closer, heck yes I would come here pretty often to try a sample and buy a very expensive baked good. I appreciated the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was giving Trader Joe's employee energy! Parking was a little tricky but not impossible. We came with locals so they knew what was up.
