    Kids taco de asada
    Laura D.

Upon entering the restaurant, we immediately felt how hot and humid it was inside. They really need to add air conditioning or a better ventilation system inside during these hot summer months. I had to use the restroom, so I headed to the back of the restaurant where they are located, and the women's bathroom didn't have an out of order sign even though it did not flush. I went into the men's bathroom because it was a single person bathroom, and I used that because it did flush properly, but the bathroom was so dirty and disgusting. I couldn't wait to leave. I sat down to order with my family and the waitress was unsure of the kids' menu options and the menu itself doesn't provide enough information about what is included in the kids' meals. My son ordered tacos de asada for kids and my daughter ordered a chicken burrito. The chicken in the burrito was flavorless. It tasted just like boiled chicken, but at least her meal had some rice and beans. My son got two tacos that were swimming in grease with no sides. I ordered the pina preparada which has a nice presentation. It also comes with rice and beans. However, the refried beans at this place are not good. They are cooked with oregano??? That is not necessary. Beans are delicious when they are made the traditional way. Oregano is not needed. I couldn't eat them. The seafood in the Pina preparada was pretty flavorless. The shrimp and the piece of panela cheese were the best parts of the meal. Everything else lacked salt or any seasoning. Some of it was also overcooked because the seafood was pretty rubbery. The chips that are brought to the table also didn't have salt, and the green and red salsas also didn't not have enough flavor.

Decided to go here instead of San Pedro Fish market. Ordered Fish,Fish Tacos and Shrimp Cocktail. Omg! They were amazing. Ambiance is comfortable and the prices are not outrageous like other seafood establishments. Definitely a good spot to eat a mixture of meat and seafood. Workers were nice and Greeted you with respect. I will definitely come back again. A flavor of Mexican seafood!

Came here for a 6 mile run, yoga class and made it a point to stop at Brite Spot for lunch or dinner. My grandson adores Mexican food, and this restaurant is his favorite in the area. It offers authentic Mexican cuisine, so if you're on a diet, this may not be the ideal spot for you. The ambiance is charming, decorated in a Ranchero theme, and you can enjoy Spanish music from the jukebox. They have a great counter, cozy booths, and outdoor seating, which sometimes features live music. The atmosphere is delightful, with friendly customers and an excellent staff. Your meals arrive hot and exactly as ordered, and they even serve Coke in glass bottles imported from Mexico. The food is comforting and satisfying. We particularly love their enchiladas and tacos, and their fish dishes are mostly fresh. And wow, their guacamole is fantastic! Parking is free and easily accessible on the street, and it's never too crowded. You will absolutely love this place!

I came here to grab lunch with my coworkers. The employees were super nice and it wasn't busy when I was there since it was in between meals I think. I ordered a shrimp taco (no salsa) and a Super Taco (with grilled chicken). Although my food was good, my shrimp taco had the salsa i requested to leave off and after eating my super taco (which was more of a taco salad tbh), I realized there was no grilled chicken. So they aren't very detailed oriented. The food overall was good and prices were reasonable. Also, just a heads up, the sign at the register states that they add $1.50 to all checks if you pay with a card.

Passing through while working and decided to stop by for a quick bite (breakfast) Was just ok for me....not bad but not great. According to the reviews dinner is better. Just a little rundown for me. My hubby did enjoy his food by the way. lol

Whenever we are in San Pedro, Los Angeles, we try to stop at Brite Spot for lunch or dinner. My grandson loves Mexican food and this place is his favorite in the area. It is real Mexican food, so if you are looking to diet this is not the place for you. The place is just so adorable. It is all decorated in sort of a Ranchero theme and you will hear Spanish music from the juke box. They have a great counter and super booths. They also have out door seating and I think live music out there now and again. The atmosphere is just the best. The customers are all nice and the staff is great. Your food will come hot and as ordered. They even have glass bottles of Coke from Mexico. Their food is comforting and filling. We love their enchiladas and tacos. They have great fish dishes, mostly fresh, and wow, their guacamole is fabulous. Parking is free and easy on the street. It is never too crowded. You will love this place.

Brite Spot Mexican Restaurant offers authentic Mexican food dining. You're greeted as soon as you step inside. The menu covers a selection of traditional dishes (tacos, enchiladas, burritos, or tamales) prepared with care and bursting with flavor. I especially like the carne asada topped with fresh ingredients, cooked & spiced to perfection. I also love the enchilada plate. They also serve cocktails and margaritas. The restaurant is small with dining inside and out. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere with a friendly and attentive staff. They do get busy and the waits can be long (find and avoid peak hours).

First time trying breakfast at Brite Spot today. Ordered Huevos Ranchero and Chilaquiles. Both were good and decent but not great. Very reasonable prices and generous portions.

I haven't been here since they…read moretore down the Ports O' Call Village area and didn't recognize it except for the Maritime Museum. I thought it was just an outpost, but the San Pedro Fish Market is just as popular as ever. And the longer I was there, the more I wanted to order everything that was coming out of the kitchen. It's fun to sit at one of the covered outdoor tables (make sure you find seats and get the table number before you order, since that's how they tie your order to your table) and face the kitchen ramp. You'll see the servers coming out with tray after tray of amazing looking seafood: whole grilled fish, shrimp, as well as corn on the cob and garlic bread. My friend got the ceviche with tortilla chips, and I got the massive shrimp burrito. Stuffed full of potatoes, gently cooked shrimp, cabbage, tomatoes and some cajun seasoning, it was really filling and is one of the cheaper items on the menu. If you come with a group, the seafood tray seems like the way to go. We saw so many people with them. Note on parking: if folks don't mind walking, there is free 2-hour street parking, compared to paying to park in the lot.

Inside is a huge section of picnic tables with QR codes to help you view the menu and order as they deliver right to your table. Service is a 10/10. Everyone we interacted with was very kind and helpful. Food is where I'm lost. Shrimp plate had great flavor, a little too oily but that's to be expected. Shrimp & Chips had food flavor and breading to them but everything came out cold. My only conclusion for this is that we are in outdoor seating and it's always windy here, so I recommend sitting as close to the Kitchen as you can if you want a hot meal. I'm a little saddened that the experience wasn't great despite only hearing amazing things about this place, but I will return when the permanent location opens up.

There were a few things that really stood out and made me very happy that I gave it a try. First, the red sauce in the salsa bar: very legit! Spicy, but very flavorful! I also tried the green chili/tomatillo sauce, which was also very good and good counter point to the unctuous marinated chicken. And they don't go cheap on the meat. Secondly, the corn tortillas were made in house and were hefty! Very tasty and held together where other tacos need two of the thin store-bought variety to have a hope to stand together. Very good. If I had the tiniest critique, I would say to add a tiny bit more salt to them, but I have a theory why they may go scant on it, and I respect that. Third, the beans and rice: The beans were very simple, but simply good. It takes a lot of guts to make and serve simple pinto beans boiled with salt. I know! What a concept! But simply delicious, and made to complement the rest of the food, and not distract from it. It takes a lot of confidence in my opinion for a restaurant to have such faith in their food to leave some that should be simple, simple. The same was true for the rice: simply well made, not over done with a ton of ingredients. It was well made: the individual grains didn't stick together. And it was unctuous without being overbearing. If I had to guess, I would say that they used broth and chicken fat. Simply good, and a complement to rest of the meal. Now to my theory. It makes sense that the masa would be light on the salt because it is the same masa that they use for pupusas, and the filling for pupusas (I just like that word) is savory and well seasoned. I'll let you now next time I got back and try the PUPUSAS! ;)
