I called to make an appointment two weeks in advance; I was scheduled for 8:30 am on Monday January 2nd. At the time, I didn't think there was anything strange about that, but when I showed up the day of (5 minutes early), I noticed the door was locked and there was no one in the office. I thought maybe that was because they opened right at 8:30 and I was early, but when I checked their hours online, it said they opened at 9. You can understand my confusion that they scheduled me for an 8:30 am appointment when they don't open until 9, but I figured it had just been a scheduling error so I sat there for 30 minutes to wait until they opened. I'm patient so I wasn't very bothered by this. Well 9 rolled around and the office stayed locked. I waited for 20 more minutes for signs of life before going back home, which I think was more than enough time for someone to arrive and open the place up, but no one ever did. I would have been understanding had I just been swinging by spontaneously, but I don't appreciate being left hanging for an appointment I scheduled 2 weeks ago. Not only did they somehow get their own shop hours wrong while scheduling, but they never even showed up! It bums me out considering this is by far the closest auto shop to my home and we've known these guys a while, but I don't think I'll ever be coming back here.

Specializing in European imports, I was worried they wouldn't want to service my beater GM car, but TJ (the head mechanic) took excellent care of me, explained throughly what needed to be fixed (and what could wait). Even better, the repairs were done the day after they picked up my car- all for a very reasonable price. This shop is the only 'reputable' mechanic in the area, so they could charge a premium for their services, but their prices are competitive with shops in Winchester. At no point during that conversation was it mentioned that the cost would increase significantly, yet there was no problem telling me they found another problem that needed fixed. When I went to pick up my car, I was shocked to find the total was over $1,800. That's a major increase that should have been clearly communicated beforehand. If I had been informed, I could have decided whether to move forward with the repair. Instead, I was put in a position where I had no choice but to pay in order to get my car back. On top of that, after looking up the cost of the parts, it appears they mark them up by at least 40%. Proceed with caution. People don't write bad reviews for absolutely no reason.
