We stopped here mid errands in the city for a beer and some fries and sat out on the patio. Very cool patio. I understand they usually have lawn bowling and movie nights out there which is a great idea. Good service too! So for the experience it was short and sweet. Easy happy hour spot if you work downtown. Although it gets really busy especially during the summer! They have a great patio on the top which is always busy and gets booked a lot. They show a lot of games on here so it's nice to drink and watch on their big lawn. Walk in only too Their food is okay. I'd say after the pandemic. Things have been mid. They took away their wings and I haven't recovered from the betrayal lol. They have really yummy fries and are good when you're drinking a nice Guinness of course. I would like to say that I am a connoisseur of Fish and Chips. I love a good fish n chips, and I have to say I was impressed with Brits Pub's fish n chips. I haven't a clue why they have such a low Yelp score, but I am seeing that more and more on Yelp. Where the score does not necessarily reflect the restaurant. The Fish had a great crisp and exterior color. The batter was tasty and lite. The fish inside did not taste like oil, but was still nice and flakey with great texture. The tarter sauce SO GOOOOD! Are you kidding me with that tarter sauce, one of the best I've ever had. I was very pleased and surprised. On top of that, which I don't ever mention because I think that Yelp should solely be about the food. The service was so great and my waitress was very kind, which should be recognized. Brits Pub Internet Pictures Looked nice. Reality was, this place just felt Tired - dirty & sticky - inside and outside - if you like that dark mahogany wood from 1984 then this place is for you. Zero customer service - we attempted to seat ourselves outside, and received no help in prepping one of the few tables that remained (food on tables umbrellas were not up on a very hot day). After assessing the sticky situation, we turned around and left. One thing I've learned about eating out is - if you ignore the signals - don't expect good food. read more

I have been to this nearby location to my home a handful of times this summer! It is a go to for group gatherings, soccer game viewings, or meeting a friend/partner for happy hour! I LOVE the upstairs deck area with the large grassy space. The staff are always kind and welcoming, happy to answer any questions. The menu has sooo many things on it that you truly cannot find anywhere else. The menu items are consistent in their quality and taste. The prices are higher than you might find at other pub like restuarents but with the high quality of food, it makes it okay. I have found Brit's Pub to be the perfect place for a weekday happy hour, meeting up with a friend on a random week day, to a soccer game with a group on any day! Went to Brits for an evening with some friends. They have a very full menu and their drinks are reasonably priced. We sat out on the rooftop by the green and it was nice but very windy so we needed to move inside. Played some pool as well and hung out on the top level. Went to Brit's to watch a major Rugby match and was ecstatic to find it was packed with fans- made watching the game super fun and lively! This is a nice spacious pub in downtown Minneapolis. Went here on a Thursday night. Weather was beautiful so we sat outside. Was the opening night for college football so the atmosphere was festive with the game on the big screen on the lawn. With multiple rooms, floors, mezaninnes, and patios - this is just the perfect place for an event of any size. Each space has a beautiful (and I mean beautiful) bar in both the architecture and the selection. I was so impressed by the setup. Ann gave us a tour, she was awesome to work with. Probably not healthy with the deep-fried stuff, but it was tasty. I ordered the bangers & mashed and tried the Royal sampler. I'd say my favorite was the scotch eggs. Popped in for a quick pint before a Twins game. Happy hour prices included draught pints @ $5 and happy apps at $7. Had an Old Speckled Hen (English ale)-a nitro brew. It was very much to my liking! We also had a non-happy-hour Brit's Bootleg Mojito with Barcardi. Great light refreshing drink for a hot afternoon, especially on the patio or lawn. But we sat inside at the very cool old bar. I highly recommend seating on their rooftop which is open seating so you may have to try and snag a table during Friday or weekend evenings when it's packed before winter hits! The salmon salad bowl was delicious! Great sesame glaze on the salmon and light lemon vinaigrette on the salad packed with greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and edamame. So good! My partner has the fish sarnie, but the cheese was actually a bit burned on top bringing down what otherwise would have been a pretty tasty battered cod sandwich. On the plus side, it came with heaps of fries which were more than enough for both of us to share and still have plenty left after we were full. The Elvis Juice was an interesting grapefruit IPA, and we also enjoyed more standard pub ales and Strongbow. Service was a bit slow trying to get a second round of pints, but otherwise pretty attentive and friendly. We had THE BEST time here! We were in town to see The Rolling Stones & I had researched this place to locate a proper British pub. Great choice! They do not take reservations so unless you come at an off time, be prepared to wait. We actually arrived around 3pm on Saturday and we got seated in the large dining room to the right of the entrance. Our waiter who looked like a very tall Jason Momoa was the bomb! He was so nice & attentive and made our dining experience fun. We loved all the food. Their fries (chips) are soooo yummy, crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. We had the chips & curry as an appetizer which was perfect for 4 of us. Britts never disappoints. Even on a busy weekend with convention center things going on, and the NCAA Women's Final Four happening, was able to snag a table on their 3rd floor pretty quickly. Grabbing a drink at the main level bar, and taking it to the 3rd floor was easy. The guy who showed me the table asked if I'd prefer the elevator or stairs. Very kind gesture as he didn't know of my mobility. No sooner than I sat down, a waitress came over to say hi, and she'd be back shortly. It was fairly busy with all that was going on downtown, but I never felt pressed to order, eat and leave. It was a relaxed feel the entire time. Mystery solved! It took looking at Kara D's photos of scotch eggs today to make me realize that I have been to Brit's Pub. Not knowing the name of this pub has been bugging me for years! I am so happy that it doesn't translate well here. One word: OMG! Years ago, I attended a conference at the Minneapolis Convention Center. I decided to take the METRO light rail from MSP Airport down to Nicollet Mall and walk over to the hotel. I was early meeting my friend at the hotel and didn't have any lunch. I spotted this pub with outdoor patio seating on the sidewalk. It was perfect because I was lugging a rather large rolling blue piece of luggage with me. I asked the woman if I could dine outside with my luggage. She was great. She said yes and showed me to a table, where I could kick back and order some grub. I love scotch eggs. I ordered two of them here. I also felt that I needed to get some greens to balance my meal out, so I got a Kew Gardens salad. I remember the name because it's the same name of the park that I frequented growing up in the Beaches in Toronto. I also got either a Diet Coke or Pepsi. It didn't take long for my food to arrive. The scotch eggs were split in half and were hot out of the fryer. I waited a bit and had my Kew Gardens salad first. It wasn't huge, which I appreciated. It had mixed greens, carrots, and garlic croutons. I normally don't enjoy croutons in my salad, but I enjoyed the garlic ones here because, well, they were garlicky. The scotch eggs were yummy. They were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The eggs were perfect. I'm craving them now. I remember my server asking me if I wanted a refill on my drink. I said yes. It was May and the weather was nice. I paid using a credit card. The transaction went smoothly It was such a convenient find. I am thrilled that I finally know the name of this place. When I'm able to travel back to the Twin Cities, I want to revisit this pub. I will try not to relive lugging my luggage around, though! (287) read more

This place is absolutely enormous! If it is ever packed it must hold over a thousand people. Main bar downstairs is what any midwesterner would be content with. As I recall from my last visit 10 years ago, the Stilton cheeseburger, bangers and mash, and fish and chips were all fantastic. Today I went with Scotch eggs and Shepherd's pie. Score!! Both were very good. And, of course like all British food, filling and satisfying. Paired with a pint of Newcastle Brown Ale, and you can't go wrong here.
