Flourless Chocolate Cake. Be still my heart!
    Gigi G.

Oh My Goodness! This was our first time going, and I certainly hope it won't be our last! We came for my 71st Birthday dinner, and the food was not a disappointment! The Greek Salad, Truffle Fries and Flourless Chocolate Cake were the standouts tonight. But also let me "shout out" to the Hostess working tonight. She alone made the entire evening inviting! She was kind, friendly and compassionate. Our server, was upbeat, and simply wonderful! And the sweet chef... He reminded me of our youngest son. Friendly and appreciative for our words of praise regarding our meal prep. Just to be clear on the staff, since I neglected to gather names... we were there tonight, arrived shortly before 8:00, and dined until 9:20. The atmosphere of the restaurant gives an upscale vibe, but they put up with our unexpected, casual dress. We spent the day in Harper's Ferry, and headed directly to the restaurant from there. Restaurant was clean and booths were comfortable. Two notes: music was a bit too loud (I'm hard of hearing and had trouble hearing my husband and wait staff over it) and the ladies room is tired... definitely time for a refresh. Neither of these would keep us from returning. Notes: I'm a difficult dinner. I know this going in and tell the staff. I have a myriad of food and other severe allergies and they were patient, kind and helpful with choices. They handled a minor unexpected glitch, with absolute professionalism and panache! I honestly don't think I've had a better dining experience, in recent memory. Oh! That flourless chocolate cake, was my birthday gift! I'm still savoring it in my mind! This restaurant will not disappoint! Thank-you. Thank-you.

Nice place. The vibes of the place is very nice. The wait staff is friendly enough but the menu is somewhat small and the drinks were just ok. Overall it was a nice place to visit

Lovely restaurant/bar in Martinsburg with delicious cocktails and food. There were so many interesting and good sounding cocktails that it was hard to pick two - we did the Raspberry Bramble and Berry Margarita, both of which were delicious. They also offered wine flights plus there is a boutique wine store. We had the Tuna Crudo Tower and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The tuna was nice and fresh with a good portion plus plenty of rice (the spicy kimchi rice wasn't spicy which was good), cucumbers and wonton crisps. The Brussels Sprouts came in a really nice size portion and was tender with some crunch too. I had the Apple and Goat Cheese Flatbread which was really delicious; I would come back just to get that. My husband got the Braised Short Ribs which was really good as well. The Flourless Chocolate Cake might have looked like a big brownie but it was much better with a delicious, cool, rich chocolate flavor. Only thing that we could wish for would have been some vanilla ice cream. Riley was our waitress who was friendly, efficient and gave us good recommendations when we had trouble deciding. I appreciated the male bartender who offered me a bag for our leftover containers as we started to walk out. Delicious food, drinks and nice staff. Great Martinsburg gem and coming back to Brix 27 will be a highlight of our visits to Martinsburg.

The food was fantastic, and so were the drinks! They had excellent gluten free options! Our waitress, Hania, was so lovely and helpful. She really did an absolutely fantastic job! The peanut butter pie was soooo delicious!

Brix 27 is SO GOOD. We went for a friend's birthday dinner and the service and food were both amazing. Our only complaint was that the upstairs where we were seated was very hot. But our server took care of it by opening the door to allow in a nice cool breeze. The food was phenomenal! We had the baked brie special, the focaccia bread service (the jam and olive oil butter were too good), the deviled eggs, the corn chowder (so packed with flavor we passed it around so we all got to enjoy it) and we shared 3 flat breads (hot Hawaiian, apple and goat cheese & margarita) and the pear salad. Every part of the meal was amazing. The bar was also a great experience! The wine flight was off healthy portions; the espresso and key lime martinis were SO good and the bees' knees was perfect! We will definitely be back as often as we are in the area!

Our party of four stopped in last night, and enjoyed ourselves. We had made a reservation, however there were not many people in the business. Love the look and feel of this spot! We started with drinks, followed by appetizers, and finished with our meals. All of the food was delicious! The drinks were strong ! We all agreed our server was not very friendly. Overall, this place has a ton of potential!

We researched a bit and saw that Snallygasters was nearby had good reviews and the food pics looked good so we checked it out. Atmosphere was cozy with interesting decor and a lively crowd of customers in almost a full house as this was Sunday night. It took a little time to be seated and have our order placed but again they were busy so when our Waitress Piper came she was more than accommodating, super friendly and kind to us which made it all good. She guided us through the specials and since we were new to the restaurant steered is to some good choices. Our meals arrived hot fresh and delectable as this was fine cuisine and not your ordinary restaurant fare. We had a shrimp and chorizo dish and also a chicken and vegetable dish which both looked amazing and tasted even better. We were very pleasantly surprised and devoured both our entrees!! Lol! We even ordered dessert to go as we saw another table served a huge piece of ny cheesecake and being native New Yorkers on vacation we thought how appropo as we'll bring it to our room and enjoy as it was getting near there closing time (9pm.) We will definitely be back after enjoying so thoroughly our first picks as we are intrigued to see how the other dishes are. Our only small complaint would be the dessert we brought back to the room was a very small tiny slice and not like the one we saw in the restaurant being served to the table behind us and for ten bucks we were disappointed at its size even though it tasted great. Our waitress Piper made our evening enjoyable being so helpful and nice and we really appreciate that as the server can make or break your meal. Last thought many dogs allowed in restaurant. ( 3 at the time of our dinner.) We love dogs and we're petting the one nearest to us as it kept walking over to my wife as she was seated awaiting our order however it was inconvenient navigating the dining floor with so many pets about and eating with them in such close proximity was a turn off I will not lie and these were not service animals. Over all we really enjoyed Snallygasters as the service of Piper was great and the cusine superb and the atmosphere lively and clean. A bigger piece of dessert and more restrained pets would be an improvement in our opinion. Still all in all we give five stars and highly recommend. We will be back soon.

He told me Maryland specialized in Cabernet Franc and Viognier and I knew nothing about Big Cork prior to arrival, but dad it was named as a top 10 tasting room by USA Today. Bold claim, especially coming from California. It was an absolutely beautiful day to visit Big Cory on Sunday. U called to confirm I didn't need a reservation, was told I didn't. That was nice, so I continued my drive to the winery, following three other vehicles that turned into the winery grounds. Ample parking, stunning grounds and views of the surrounding area. A big white building with a surround patio greeted me as I walked in, taking in the ambiance of the place. It was busy with patrons sitting outside, standing at mo sitting at the bar. I was greeted by an English chap, names Andy who said he works be right with me. Gave me a few minutes to look around and take in the experience. Andy greeted me and told me to grab any seat. Told him o was new to Maryland wine, as it was my first time at any winery outside of Paso Robles. I guts my expectations were high but I dialed them back as I ordered my tasting flight. Not a big white fan, I was impressed I'm with their Chardonnay, not buttery like the California. It was light, crisp and fruity. A very well done white. In fact I enjoyed it more than the Sauvignon Blanc, which if drinking a white I usually lean towards. Found this a bit too sweet. On to the reds, which is what I was reliably looking forward to. Andy took time to explain each wine, some characteristics and processes behind each glass. Their Meritage, a red blend was okay but was missing something for my liking. I did however enjoy the Cab Franc as single varietal. Never got to the Siberian Ice but was treated to the Syrah, Nebbiolo and Black Label Malbec. Those last two tasting were wonderful. My tastings done, I ordered a glass of the Rose Brut as I took care of Andy and my bill. I did walk out with a bottle of Chardonnay and Cab Franc. Overall a wonderful tasting with some good wines. Worth checking out but being from Paso I'm not going out of my way to find East Coast wines. I know what my palate enjoys but a little change now and then can be a good thing. If I get t girlfriend out, we will be back.

I haven't been there for dinner in about a year or so, but used to be a frequent customer in years past. The food now is sub-par and has little to no flavor. The expansive menu we once knew has been trimmed down into banal meals every other place in town serves. The portions are weak and to be quite honest, the quality of the dining experience as a whole was underwhelming. Old favorites like the fried green tomatoes just don't hit the same anymore. The crab cakes I added to my caesar salad tasted like they had been fried in oil that had been sitting for days. The salad itself wasn't anything to write home about either, I received a salad on the same level as something you'd get from Apple Bees. Parmesan Truffle French fries were soggy and sodden with that same acrid oil I mentioned before. The list goes on, but I'm going to stop here. We did end up asking if there was a manager around to voice our concerns to, but the waitress said she didn't know where the manage was. Interesting. We paid and left, never to return. I'm not trying to be harsh here, I am actually very disappointed to see this happen to a place that once was a local gem, maybe it's a sign of the times.
