I like everything about this place. The entrance is a room with a shuffleboard table (very fun especially while drinking) and a small seating area. You go down a set of stairs to reach the bar which has a lovely speakeasy atmosphere, friendly staff, and some of the most delicious drinks you can imagine. So delicious! We lucked out with no reservation coming in around 11 and got in but 10 minutes later every table was taken. I had the ham and pesto toast which was awesome and my husband had the crustless quiche which he loved. Pesto was homemade and our mimosas were great but a little excessively priced at $16. The Northside Collins and New Haven Pizza were delicious. I would give 5 stars, but we waited an hour and a half to be seated and had been told we'd have a half hour wait. Now, the service may have been a little sluggish but the place was somewhat overwhelmed at the time. Omg so this place is amazing. If you follow me you'll know that I love antiquities and anything pertaining to it. Brix is no exception. Greenport is an amazing historical town. Brix, contrary to popular perception was not a speakeasy. It was though a stop for rumrunners to store their liquor once it passed through Claudio's. True story. If u see the pic of mine I posted of Evan being an awesome bartender you'll see the note of the little white door next to him. That was the basement door that rumrunners used once the rum got to Claudio's through boat it would go through underground tunnels to Brix. You see, Brix used to be a livery or ( astable where horses and vehicles are kept for hire and where stabling is provided). So it was the perfect place to hide the rum during Prohibition. It was then transported by train directly to NYC. There were a lot of trains and and cars and horses (because it was a livery) back in the day that always went to NYC. thereby the perfect central distribution. Haha!! Oh I also had the make your own white pizza with prociutto, clams , fried egg, and hot peppers. Omg soooooooo good. Come here! Oh I just found out they rumrunners would brig it in through a trap door behind the bar on Claudio's restaurant. (there was no dock back in the day) read more

We were in Greenport on a day trip from NYC. And, of course, we needed a fun spot for dinner and drinks. As Manhattanites, this cutie little spot FAR exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were divine (the Devil Takes The Hindsmouth was literally one of the best I have ever had), the atmosphere was tucked away, dim lit, intimate and lovely and the pizza was a topping oasis and delicious. We tried this restaurant tonight for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised at the coziness of place, the quality of the food, and the friendliness of the staff. Two of us shared Nonna's meatballs, arugula salad, and a margarita pizza along with a couple of cocktails. Everything was top notch. The small basement bar is a little difficult to find if you don't know beforehand what you are looking for. A small candle that was burning on an upstairs table gave away the fact that the restaurant was open....We intend on making this a regular stop on our way through Greenport. read more

Excellent food, drinks, and atmosphere. The staff recommended the caramelized onion with sausage pizza which was amazing. We ordered an additional plain pie and one with bell peppers and pepperoni, all of which did not disappoint. It's a traditional Naples style pizza, the best I've had outside of NYC. Oh, and at this spot you don't have to wait an hour to get in. This bar has amazing cocktails. It's entertaining to see these bar tenders work. With all the attention to detail, it's like watching a master chef in the kitchen. If you're lucky enough to stop in when it's not busy, be sure to ask about the origins of your drink. This is my new favorite spot in Greenport! My husband and I have been dying to try Brix and Rye ever since we moved to the North Fork, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very speak easy, and although the bar is dimly lit by candlelight, it adds so much to your surroundings. The walls are littered with interesting conversation pieces, and the bartenders donned very Hunter S. Thompson-esque Hawaiian shirts. Some live music was on the menu for the Thursday night I visited, and they played some Wallflowers, Bruce Springsteen, and other mellow tunes. Their expertly crafted pizza was to die for, and adding fresh clams to it was something I never would have tried had it not been for their menu suggestions. It was amazing. We also tried the house marinated olives, and they were very tasty. But the real star of the show are their cocktails. The bartender is clearly very experienced, and it shows. I tried the strawberry margarita and the Trader Vic's Mai Tai, and my husband had the The Northside Collins, Backsliding Presbyterian, Grassroots. They were all INCREDIBLE. Seriously, the best drinks I've ever had. I'll be thinking of them well into the summer, that's for sure. Not only were the food, drinks, atmosphere, staff, and entertainment amazing, but the prices were actually much more reasonable than I imagined! We spent under $100 on six drinks, one pizza with two half toppings, and olives. It was a nice surprise. I can't wait to go back and run through their list of cocktails! I have been wanting to go here for so long and finally made it there Friday night. I was hesitant hearing that it was downstairs, and thought it would feel claustrophobic but it was the exact opposite----it's SEMI-downstairs---I could see the street from my table!!! The excellent cocktails made by Evan made it an even better nightcap than I expected---he remembered us from places he used to work and it was great to see him again, as always, with a big smile on his face. There was a great mixed crowd of young and not-so-young and it has a really friendly vibe. The restroom hidden in the foyer wall---the wallpaper blends into the door---was clean and bright. What a terrible experience. Came in with a few friends, looking to spend the evening drinking plenty of cocktails. There were several open tables but the waitress would not seat us because we weren't eating food. This is Greenport, not Manhattan. If you're gonna serve over priced cocktails and be super pretentious you're in the wrong city. No idea how this place survives. Imagine stumbling upon an aromatic gem in an enclosed courtyard, surprisingly hungry after shopping for hours. "Let's grab a quick bite," we say after seeing the family of four on the patio enjoying stacked pizzas, chilled white wine and local craft beer. Little did we realize just how delicious this "bite" would be. I had forgotten the difference a brick-oven can make. The menu was a treat in itself, offering an array of fresh toppings. My husband's meat-eating-ways attracted him to the pepperoni, and I couldn't resist fresh local clams (a first-time try on pizza). Thankfully, we were able to do half-pie toppings or we would have had to order two full pies. We dared to have hot cherry peppers as a shared topping. Our appetite was fairly monstrous, so we were hoping one pie would be satisfactory--it was more than enough. The pie packed on the heat, both temperature-wise and spice level. The Southhampton Double White and Greenport Harbor Ale were lovely complements. Oh, and what made the visit especially satiating? The playlist: featuring Velvet Underground and the Beatles. My advice- if you're lucky enough to vacation in Greenport, you should stop here for some of the best pizza you'll ever have. Then pop-over to the brewery, which is conveniently a stones-throw away! Been waiting for a place like this! I own a business locally, am over 40, and not into bar scenes or loud crazy places- but I do enjoy going out once in a while to relax- not get crazy. Amazing atmosphere & drinks---I'd rather have 2 strong interesting perfect good ones than a pitcher of junk...or have to be hanging around that. We went after work to check it out- it was very quiet & chill. I have not been there on a weekend. Great little snacks...or we could have enjoyed pizza. I was able to have a chat with my friend with out loud blaring music- they did have music playing- but not too loud. Can't say enough about this little cozy little gem. Love it.
