We called to make reservations as I know restaurant is very loud and difficult to hear - the hostess offered a seat to be reserved in the bar as I explained our guest is hard of hearing and it is quieter in there. When we arrived they did not have our reservation and said they do not take them for the bar. Just drove through and stopped for lunch...so many great lunch options but we ended up ordering off the appetizer menu. Split scampi which was served with French bread for dipping in the amazing sauce/broth. Also had the bruschetta flatbread. Both were cooked perfectly and super fresh! read more

I recently ate here with my family and had a great experience. Great food and great service. My only complaint would be that I felt the price was inflated for what you get. However there are very few good places to eat in Roseburg, so I guess they can get away with the prices...supply and demand. Amazing! Delicious burgers, and the pear Moscow mule is TO DIE FOR!!!! Will definitely return when we're in town visiting. Such a cozy, comfy atmosphere and super friendly staff. Dessert selection is also top notch, an the cinnamon rolls were too beautiful to pass up. read more

Definitely a nice place to have breakfast, while lunch is not as impressive, the fresh ingredients and variety (buns/cheeses) for a burger or sandwich effectively improve the quality and variety of the menu. Downtown location is great, and the environment is wonderful. read more

A couple of months ago we visited and after ordering shrimp tacos and a tilapia plate, my husband and I left feeling very hungry still. The portions on these particular plates were very, very small and we spent $60+ on dinner. As business owners, we realize how valuable feedback is. The waitress that waited our table never asked how the food was (we were waiting for the opportunity). So when we brought the check up and mentioned that we weren't satisfied with the portion or taste to the waitress, Misty, who happens to be the owner, and she was argumentative and didn't listen to our concern. We told her we had been there several times and never had this issue - we mentioned the possibility of it just being an "off" night or menu items. She was not perceptive and devalued us as customers. She sent us away with some cold soup and a couple of itty bitty pieces of bread - we left it in the restaurant, as it was a feeble attempt to "satisfy" us. We are locals and will never eat at Brix again because the way that the owner handled our concern. She is not someone we want our hard-earned money going to. read more

I went to Brix with my sister for the first time last night and was excited after hearing all the great reviews. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my meal. I got the veggie penne for $14 and added chicken for a total of $18. What I got was a small plate of veggies, with some penne pasta, and a bit of grilled chicken that had absolutely no flavor. It was supposed to have a garlic sauce reduced with white wine. It was like my pasta was drenched in water with a bit of wine added. Not at all worth 18 dollars. I considered sending it back but the waitress never really came back. My sister ordered the same thing, but with prawns instead of chicken, and she ended up dipping her noodles in the shrimp cocktail sauce. The rest of our friends' dishes looked good so maybe my sister and I just chose the wrong thing. The only thing I was happy about was my drink. read more

Brix is our favorite breakfast restaurant in Roseburg and they do a good job. Food is consistent and the wait staff is attentive in the mornings. We tried dinner one time and were not happy with our meals. Our 90 year old mother was a good sport to eat the poor quality steak she had ordered. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she seemed not to care at all. I don't think this restaurants takes criticism or suggestions very well! It will continue to be our go-to place for breakfast but we will pass on dinner. The atmosphere in the main dining area is attractive and has been nicely upgraded over the years. read more

Our experience with this restaurant was very disturbing. After my wife politely and appropriately expressed dissatisfaction with her meal, the manager berated her and ultimately threw us out of the restaurant. Here are the gory details: My wife and I went there for Sunday brunch. She ordered biscuits and gravy, and the gravy was very sweet and odd tasting. She rarely complains about food, but this was so weird that she mentioned it to our server. The server removed the item from our bill, and later explained that the recipe used non-dairy creamer. (This explains why the gravy tasted like a combination of Coffee Mate French Vanilla and cake frosting). As we were about to pay our bill, the manager came to our table. Her manner was very dismissive, defensive, and accusatory. In an offended tone, she falsely claimed that my wife had accused the restaurant of "doing something shady." She said all of her other customers love the gravy, and that she has never heard any complaints about it. Several times, she insisted that my wife order something else off of the menu. My wife tried to clarify what she had originally said, and declined to order another item. The manager continued to berate us. Finally, I said, "Enough! Here is my credit card. Please let us pay and go." Then, I left the table to go to the restroom (which was nearby), and expected that my card would be run while I was away. Unfortunately, as I closed the door, I shut it harder than I had intended to. It made a noticeable sound, but it certainly was not a loud slam. At this, the manager went ballistic. I could hear her through the door, yelling that I was destroying her property and that she was going to call the police. I returned to the table to learn that we were being ejected from the restaurant. My wife and I are some of the most mild-mannered people you could ever meet, and we are not the type to get into altercations with anyone. We did nothing to provoke the treatment we got leading up to my shutting the bathroom door, and the reaction to that was way out of proportion. Plus, the food sucked. read more

We ate here for lunch on Oct 16th because my husband read a good review--it said this was the best restaurant in Roseburg. If this is the best Roseburg has to offer-- I suggest another town for food. I had the "grilled" flat bread with 4 cheeses and tomatoes. It was soggy, the four cheeses appeared to be out of a pre-grated 4-cheese bag from the grocery store and the tomatoes were uncooked, chopped anemic chunks piled on the flat bread. And for $9-- it was quite small. My husband's $12-$13 salad was to be served with bread. When he asked about it-- the waitress said she didn't think it did. Then she returned and put a small plate with 2 pieces of 2-inch x 1-inch x 1/4-inch "pieces" of bread (and no butter-- nothing) on the table. My husband (who rarely says anything) was incredulous and said, "Is this it?" The waitress said, "It only comes with 2 pieces. WHAT? you want more?" He did not get more. It was pathetic. And then she never came back to ask how we were. And we were not asked when he paid the bill at the counter. They obviously didn't care. I recently dropped into Brix as I had taken the bus into town and had a two hour wait. I dropped into the lounge jusrt past noon and had two of their IPA Draft beers and a BLT Sandwich. The BLT was generous on the Bacon. The lady tending the bar offered conversation and the atmosphere pleasant. I don't often go into the downtown area since getting a paring ticket in February. My objection to the parking ticket was that I was forced to pay Diamond Parking Service rather than the City of Roseburg. I bow to no corporation. That little $10 parking ticket has resulted in me doing all my major shopping in Cottage Grove and Eugene. And after discovering my savings to be between 10% and 15% I have convinced 28 other people to no longer shop in Roseburg or Douglas Cou8nty.. For myself, I have withdrawn about $15,000 annual spending from the economy here. I will guess the other 28 similar. So that $10 parking ticket is likely costing Roseburg merchants nearly a half million a year and local government about $50,000. And while I hate punishing the merchants, they are after all the ones responsible for electing the little Nazis in the City Council and County Board. Rosburg's population declined from nearly 30,000 people in 2000 to just over 20,000 in 2010. Well with the way the government is performing here, Roseburg will soon become a ghost town. I had family members move here in 1852, so they helped build Roseburg. Well, I am the last of my family and I am now out to destroy it. But of course I could never accomplish I should add that when I received that parking ticket I was doing preliminary research to bring an energy company to the Roseburg area top produce solar, wind and other environmentally friendly products. Within two years it would have had 150 to 200 employees at salaries of $22 an hour and above. Well due to the Meter Maid, that company is now being build in Prescott Arizona. And members of the large corporation financing it live there. A multi Billion Dollar Corporation mostly involved in producing Golf Equipment and producing machine parts for the aero space When I mentioned this at City Hall, all I got was a blank look from the idiots working there. industry. Quit voting Republican or Democrat. Start rejecting all political candidates preesented by special interests. Oh, on the population decline here. That may have something to do with the dramatic decline in household earnings Between 2000 and 2010 that went down by a good $10,000 annually. But the geniuses you elected are making up their losses by creating new and higher taxes as well as nonsense tickets like I received. For a first time offender (and this was the first ticket of any time I have received in my life with 49 years of driving experience) they would have accomplished more with just giving a not of warning I had oversatyed the meter by 12 minutes. (actually the 12 minutes was on my return. The meter maid must have been waiting as the last couple minutes ticked off). read more

My 29 year old daughter invited me to go out to Mother's Day lunch at Brix on the 10th of May, 2015. We arrived at 12:43 pm. When we entered the restaurant we were told they were closed?!? Hmm, the door wasn't locked, and the sign said Open! I told them my daughter & I wanted to have Mother's Day lunch, and my daughter had phoned them, and they told her they would be open until 3 pm that day! They told me, "They like to be closed by 3:00 pm." THEN PUT 2:30 PM AS YOUR CLOSING TIME! Don't tell customer's that call that you are open until 3:00 pm, when you obviously do what you want on your closing and opening status! I told them we'd never be back, and we won't! Not any way to run a business! Roseburg has too few restaurants that have decent food, and this is the only reason they can get away with this! I've been in business before, and you stay until your customer's are finished eating. I do plan to tell ALL I know to not frequent this business! They were rude about it too! We went to McMinimins, and it was delicious, and we had superb service! My daughter also told me she had lunch there with a friend of her's about 2 weeks before we went on Mother's Day, & the waitress was a rude then also! Snotty, crappy service will get you nowhere!
