The absolute best bagels in NYC! Many varieties and always fresh! I often go there for an everything bagel with chive cream cheese! It's delicious and a treat! When there is a line it moves quickly. I suppose b/c they are in a busy midtown business area, they can skimp on ingredients and people are too busy to complain. There is a very rude male employee here who wears glasses and is responsible for dealing with the pick up orders. When I arrived at the restaurant, my order was ready, and I wanted a bag with handles to carry it. The worker first denied my request, stating that the bag I had already was sufficient. My Broad Nosh Special (avocado, egg, cream cheese and micro greens) was tasty but also a cream cheese catastrophe in my hands. I would not recommend eating on the way to your niece's baptism, for instance. Still, it was good enough to be worth the 30 minute wait. I will start by saying that while the bagels are very good the service is ATROCIOUS!!!! I order here all the time - multiple times a week and the customer service is now just nonexistent. I constantly have issues with their delivery but I still order from here and generally let it slide. Today I called about a delivery order because there was a glitch in the app and they HUNG UP ON ME THREE TIMES and refused to make my order correctly. My husband understands Spanish more and I asked one of the staff members if he spoke Spanish. Guy just turned to person next to him and mumbled something and laughed. Broad Nosh Bagels has been in regular rotation since late 2020 / early 2021, when it opened a location at Broadway near W. 86th. We realized only recently that some food reviewer types hold this place in as high esteem as we do. And for good reason! Broad Nosh serves warm, quality bagels fresh from the oven all day long. (I've gotten warm ones at 4 p.m.!) The crusts are perfect, delightfully chewy, made in the traditional style (boiled and baked). The innards are a little softer than Tal's, but have enough substance to stand up to a heavy application of schmear if that's what you're into. Or chopped liver and cucumber. Or lox with all the fixin's. Or.... Bagels are larger than traditional (but are thankfully smaller than the size of a baby's head, unlike Absolute's). There is usually a discernible hole. Everything bagels come with only the tops seasoned, which I consider a ding... but they are generously applied on top and quite delicious. If you're not a hidebound traditionalist, cheddar jalapeno bagels pack a real punch. And they have all sorts of interesting cream cheeses, including a bacon and scallion concoction (suggested flavor name: Kashrut Rebellion), and a birthday cake cream cheese with sprinkles (looks nasty, but it's effective kid bait). The more we go to Broad Nosh, the more they start closing the gap on Tal's -- especially when you throw in the friendly, helpful staff, the wonderful lentil soup in winter, and the baked-on-site bagels that almost always seem to be fresh from the oven. p.s. An everything bagel eaten more than 12 hours after purchase was still fresh enough that it didn't need toasting. Wow. read more

The quest continues for Nu Yawk's best bagel. I've been to Broad Nosh's sister store on 58th St. and they didn't disappoint. See that review from an earlier time. Broadway's Broad Nosh almost as good. First, nice tables to sit at curbside and watch the world go by. Unfortunately, only 4 tables inside so if it's raining or snowing or any kinda inclement weather, then you're taking it on the go. Service was quick and efficient. Also to note, handicap ramp accessible. Lastly, the goods. First the cawfee. Not so hot. Wasn't cause it was over mooed. Actually, a little on the darker side which is the way I like it. But again, not so hot. Next, what you been waiting for. My everything with plain cream cheese. Seemed over baked on one side and not so baked on the other. Did the baker forget it was in the oven? Also seasonings were only on one side Mostly sesame and poppy and barely any salt or anything else. The bagel chewed ok with the right amount of crunch. The menu offers breakfast items, such as egg benedict on potato latkes, sandwiches, and bagels with shmears. We ordered: +an Everything bagel with Vegetable Cream Cheese +a Plain bagel with Jalapeno Cream Cheese Even though we stopped by earlier in the morning, the bagels were just not good - they were kind of stale and super chewy, and not at all what I expected them to be. The cream cheese was also not creamy, but kind of hardened, which you you had to basically tear the bagel into pieces to get any of the shmear game on. This is truly an amazing New York bagel!!!! I have had many bagels in my life and this is one of if not the best bagel I have had. The cream cheese also is amazing and so good I got the lox and scallions and scallion cream cheese and it was amazing on my everything bagel. The service was great and quick with the staff being nice as well. This is a small shop so it can get cramped but it's part of what made this such a cool experience. Straight up, I loved this bagel. I was so pleasantly surprised by everything-- I ordered a ham, egg, and cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel on their website. It was ready 10min before their estimate, and there was an extremely generous amount of every single ingredient inside. Sometimes I've found that bagel stores skimp out on the ham or the cheese or the egg, but I did not find that here. I loved how much stuff they packed inside. And even though it was full of stuff, I still found that I was able to eat everything with no mess as it all stayed inside the bagel. It's an ART and a SCIENCE. I sat down to eat this maybe 10min after I picked it up, and the outside of the bagel was still crunchy, while the inside was soft and chewy. Plus, this bagel came to $8.70 with tax. I've paid more for a bagel that gave me much less. I would 1000% get this again, and I'm super excited to try their cream cheeses as well! read more
