Another city, another roastery. But alias this is not just any coffee shop. Let us begin with a brisk walk down Main Street on a chilly September morning. The sun has risen to a sky empty of clouds. The breeze is ever so subtle yet cuts through the sweatshirt and beanie I mistakenly thought would be ample in keeping me warm. I first walk into the outdoor seating; some in front of a walled water fountain and some parallel to Agora, the multiple-vendor shopping space this coffee lover's paradise calls home. I find thriving plants, chic furniture, and conversations awaiting me just inside the door. Per usual, I begin with an Americano but save myself the time and order a pour over at the same time. The Americano, with just enough froth on top to remind you it's not a cup of coffee, is the stuff of legends. The washed process (also called wet processing) is the perfect method as it removes all distracting notes and brings the flavors of dark fruit and molasses aspect of the toffee screaming to the forefront. It only lasted as long as it did due to the naturally high temperature of the beverage. And that Colombian medium roast. Like a sweet fruity drink you would have near the ocean, minus the cheap ingredients and nasty aftertaste. Washing over the tongue, it carries a sweetness flavor akin to tea in the deep South. That was also gone within minutes. Every visit I am greeted by friendly team members, quality coffee, and a bag of beans wanting for me to take it home (and I do of course). I will visit this location any time I am in Harrisonburg. I recommend you do the same. read more

Nice little coffee shop in store a boutique shop. We almost couldn't find it and we glad we did. My oat milk latte is one of the best. The taste is a bit complex but in a wonderful way. Nutty, toasty, simply delightful. Definitely would go again when I am in town again. read more

I got the iced matcha latte, which was okay. Flavor was pretty mild and watered down. My husband got a dirty chai and said he couldn't taste much chai. There was only one barista working, so does take a little longer to get your drinks depending how busy they are. Great place to get some work done. Just moved to Harrisonburg a couple weeks ago and this was my first cafe I visited in the area! I absolutely enjoyed it. Such a great environment to be in. The staff were also very helpful and friendly when it came to asking for recommendations. Definitely on the more modern side of cafe styles but the food and drinks were amazing! This place is a cute little shop located in a boutique in downtown Harrisonburg. I got a latte, which was pretty good but not very hot, and my partner got an americano, which was fairly average. There's not a ton of space to sit, but it's perfect for having a beverage while wandering the shops. The barista was very nice and we got our order fairly quickly, and they even have little stickers with their logo on them. Overall, a perfectly fine place to grab a coffee! read more

What a beautiful little gem found in a local co-op in downtown Harrisonburg... The prices are the best I've seen in awhile! $3 for a pour over is AMAZING! They actually roast their own coffee and their Guatemalan was delicious! They roast and sell bags of their roast on the spot and offer a variety of coffees from lattes to pour overs... I saw a box of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe in the corner... I can't wait to try that roast next time. I purchased a bag of coffee for $11. There isn't a lot of seats but that shouldn't deter you from coming and enjoying the charm of this coffee shop! I will definitely back in the near future! read more

I really enjoy this coffee spot in downtown Harrisonburg. It's tucked inside of a marketplace, so when you order and are waiting for your coffee, you can walk around and check out all the cool stalls of art, thrifted goods, and more. It's a cool spot. I love this coffee shop! I come here as much as I can because their prices are cheap (compared to Starbucks) and I like supporting a local business when I can. I personally love their chai lattes (it's definitely made with love haha). The vibe in here is great with plants all around and even when it's busy, it's usually pretty quiet to get work done. Sometimes, it can get pretty busy, so in that case seating can be hard to find. But you can always get your coffee to-go and shop around! The baristas are always super nice and willing to help you make your decision. Everyone should try this place at least once while in Harrisonburg!! read more

Wow! A huge step up from the rough Artful Dodger of years ago. Significant investment in alteration and renovations as it's an attractive welcoming place to spend an hour. The menu is excellent. I especially like the coffee americano and biscuit and gravy. My only complaint: SLOW service. You can anticipate a thirty minute wait from your order at the cash register to serving. This delay occurs even when the place is nearly empty. Otherwise, enjoy a nice coffee shop and restaurant with great food, coffee, and ambiance on Harrisonburg's Court Square. Stopped in on a rainy day with 5 teen gals. Prices were super reasonable and coffee options were plenty. I had a delicious chai latte, while others in the party had iced green tea, cappuccino, etc. I had the salmon dill toast which was SOO good. Kids had fruit parfaits and peach corn cake and other treats. The three boys of our party left to get substantial subs at a nearby sandwich shop while the ladies stayed and took pictures of beautiful food in an even more beautiful environment. I got a pour over with Ethiopian Yecherife and a cold brew. Although neither was my "cup of (coffee)," I think that's a result of trying the new brew. Broad Porch is my favorite coffee in Harrisonburg. I buy my whole beans from them. I almost always order Southern Split beans because to me it makes the perfect cup of coffee. Bitter but smooth and not sour. I usually prefer a medium roast, but dark Southern Split is magic somehow. The drinks I order are also always top notch! This is a small coffee counter tucked inside a nice consignment/thrift shop. But even though it's small, the coffee is outstanding! I got a pour over and my husband got a mocha, and both were wonderful! Parking can be a pain so keep that in mind if you're driving and not on foot. Awesome little shop in a bright open space with a beautifully hewn bar (love the live edge!). They roast all their own beans. I'm especially partial to their Guatemalan roast - a surprisingly flavorful medium roast - but I wouldn't say no to their blend or their darker roasts. They offer drip coffee, iced coffee, and espresso based drinks. Plus freshly roasted beans! (If you don't have a burr grinder at home they'll grind the beans for you there. just ask!) Which btw is part of a co-op shared space which is really cool. And those are just the ones you can see from Broad-Porch! Agora is a burgeoning market that captures the spirit of downtown, and Broad Porch captures the taste buds. Right now, Broad Porch's coffee is very cheap, especially considering it is roasted on site and sourced responsibly. While they do not have food options, they allow you to bring food from home or other places nearby. Lastly, I like the feeling I get when I do work there.
