    Razor blade in Southwest Bowl

My first time dining at Drifters cafe was made a horrid experience due to the lack of knowledge and concern from the manager; and also risk of internal bleeding/death. My friend was eating her bowl she had ordered and found a RAZOR BLADE in her food. When we brought this issue and the blade in hand to the manager, he showed lack of concern: explaining that just a week ago another customer had found a SCREW in his/her wrap. He did not hesitate to refund her, however he showed a bizarre lack of concern and seemed incredibly comfortable telling us about the screw that other customer found. Does this happen often? As someone in a managerial position in the food service industry, there should have been way more hospitality than a lousy refund and horror story of another bad incident happening at this place. If someone would have ingested this garbage, serious internal damage would have occurred, let alone the fact of how dirty razor blades are. This incident alone shows that this establishment for 1. Does not check their produce before serving them to the public, 2. Does not even WASH their vegetables either, and 3. Has an inexperienced and unprofessional manager. What if a child had mistakenly and unknowingly swallowed this blade instead of an adult who had some discernment that this was indeed a razor blade? This is terrible and no one should risk eating at this establishment. If you want to swallow and ingest a sharp razor blade, be Drifter's cafe's guest!

The family & I are in Massanutten for a fun weekend away, but just couldn't handle the resort prices anymore. We decided on Drifters Cafe for breakfast because I saw coffee flights (thanks Yelpers!). They are real & basically 4 small coffees for $13. INCREDIBLE! My husband who doesn't like coffee, but enjoys a good chocolate mocha asked me to put the white mocha on the flight then we had caramel macchiato, dirty chai latte, and horchata latte. Hubs drank the white mocha giving me just a sip to try (). It was delicious! So was the carmel and horchata. The dirty chai latte fell short for me. It was missing that christmas in a cup feel. Maybe not enough cinnamon? Not sure, but it was missing. We also had the loaded bagel sandwich, wraps, and a bagel croissant. All were scarfed up by my hungry brood. Ambience is industrial coffee house. It's bright, well lit, and I love that the tables aren't super close together. It's a bit tricky to find. It's behind the building that has a kitchen place attached. The team brings your coffee and food to your table. Very nice!

Great chill little Cafe. We tried the breakfast burrito and a smoothie. The staff was quick and nice, the burrito was a good fresh mix of veggies, fresh eggs, sausage and a spicy mayo.

Cute coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Matcha wasn't too sweet, very good!

Great all around find! Cozy vibe, great service, great breakfast sandwiches, and yummy drinks. Was pleasantly surprised by how much it was 10/10 all around.

Amazing coffee and food, great prices. Spacious ambiance with lots of light. Good wifi for studying. Buy 6 coffees and get one free! Try the dirty chai latte with espresso. Friendly service.

Saturday brunch coffee flight and my girlfriend got the breakfast tacos. All very good and would recommend.

I will admit I am not the biggest fan of Pho as I don't eat beef and have been disappointed in the past by most non-beef Pho options. However, this place has great reviews so I wanted to check it out. One thing about me, even if I don't like something, I will always keep giving it another shot! I'm so glad I did because the moment we walked in, I could tell this place would be good. It smelled incredible in there! Also this place was packed, and more and more people kept coming in within the hour of them being closed. You can definitely tell that this is a local favorite, especially for JMU students. I got the seafood pho and was blown away! It was so flavorful and actually tasted phenomenal. I ate every bit of it. In the past I've found Pho to be bland, but not this one! I added a ton of condiments and such to it which made it even better. My husband got a weekend special, I believe it was a pork chop plate and he really enjoyed his dish as well.

There was a heater, so we figured we could stand it. The hostess rearranged the tables to seat us close to the heater, and left menus. Soon a waitress came with water and took drink orders. Not long after she returned to take our food orders. While we were waiting for the food, someone brought us some warm blankets. All through our meal people kept checking to see whether we needed anything. It was the best service I have seen in a long time, and I arrange a bi-monthly lunch outing for a club I belong to. The food was delicious. The salmon sandwich was incredible, the burrata appetizer was to die for, and I wish everyone had such good French fries. Everyone enjoyed their food and the warm welcome from the staff on a not very warm day.

The space is urban chic with a moderate sized dining room and small bar. I would describe the menu as "upscale comfort". Elevated pork chop, meatloaf, pasta for example. At our table we ordered the swordfish nightly special, the wild mushroom pasta, the pork chops, and the potato croquette appetizer. All were beautifully plated and delicious. We also had two exceptional glasses of Chardonnay, and some beautiful cocktails. We enjoyed our evening. This is a great place for a special night out without needing to be fancy or fussy.
