They gave a 15,000$ dollar estimate on a car valued around 9,000$ for routine maintenance, the car, by the way, drives fine. It only needs basic stuff like brake re-lining and its windshield defroster repaired. I was taking a drive in my Audi and my coolant light came on (which is never a good sign, almost always means a leak) I called Audi and they told me they couldn't get me in for almost 3 weeks, so I called my good friends at broad stroke who got me in the next day. They found the leak, partnered with my extended warranty, and got me in and out in great time and fixed a few other things I requested as well. Staff are always kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. They inspected my car very thoroughly, took their time and gave me a report with what was fine and what needed my attention. They borrowed me a car to get by while they were looking at it - nice! Bottom line, I did my 20k mile service with them, which includes oil change and inspection. It came to about $500. A little too steep for oil change and inspection. I think the quality was very nice and I really appreciate that the business owner knows me personally and treats me like a person. I really appreciate that. Would I recommend to a friend? This review is well-deserved and long overdue. While it is never fun to have your car in the shop, they somehow manage to make the experience rather pleasant overall. I have a 2012 Mini Cooper S. A few years ago, I had received a recommendation from the Assistant Manager at Discount Tire in Everett to check this place out. I am glad I listened and I'd like to pass on that recommendation to anyone reading this. As with all things of quality, the repairs are not "cheap," but they are fair. I get what I pay for and I am kept completely informed throughout the process: Before any work is done I am consulted about how much it will be, why it's necessary, and when it will be completed. When there's an issue, I feel as though the team is just a call or an email away and their overall response time to reported issues is excellent. Having worked primarily with Amy I can tell you that she is professional, knowledgeable and empathetic and I have a very hard time imagining a better experience. An absolutely horrible business. This company ripped me off for something I didn't need. I dropped my vehicle off a Thursday for a diagnosis on my transmission. After seeing that the they weren't going to get to my car until later into next week. I tried calling Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, leaving voicemails to get my car back and just take it into bmw. I went to the shop, they said they did the diagnosis, and I needed to pay. When I looked at it, they didn't even confirm anything. Nothing at all. Even though my car is stuck in 3rd gear. They just said oh it's maybe this, or maybe that. I explained I did not want the diagnosis done to begin with and they cussed me out on the spot. I eventually broke in and paid. I step into my vehicle, and my headliner is sagging and it was not beforehand. I figured because it was the end of the day and tension was high, I would call in the morning. Not 5 seconds after leaving the shop. My car was shooting coolant out the engine. My cap was messing from the tank. I ended up finding it next to the airbox just sitting there. I was very annoyed at this point. So I called them, explaining the headliner and the cap. They explained it's not their problem and they just cussed me out. PARKER DAVIS is the guys name. He owns the shop, an absolute joke of a person. He deserves to be recognized as a cheating scum. I'm out a headliner, the $580 useless diagnostic, and the car was overheating from the cap. I got nothing in return and they blocked my number. Worst BMW business ever. And that's a fact read more

I was at a pivotal point in my life. My pony of four years was starting to show its years (Check Engine Light came on a month prior and set me back $1000 at shop in Everett), and I was just contemplating....will this car last me for another 100k miles?? I was sad. Because my Silver Bullet (a silver '09 MINI Clubman) has been a fun car. So, while I was contemplating where to go next in my life (OK, it's just a car...I just have a flare for the dramatic!), I came across stellar reviews of a BMW/MINI shop in Snohomish. I was due for an oil change, so I called up. They were able to fit me in on a Saturday when I'd be in the area. (I've gone only to the Dealerships for service, but they are always booked up, and they can be pricey, and I've never been 100% confident on their work). So bright and early on a Saturday I dropped my rig in. The woman at the front desk greeted me nicely and checked me in. I hung out in their waiting room (it was adorned with nice leather couches...not sure if it's theirs, but I jumped on to a wifi network nearby). I also chatted with Parker (think he's the owner of the place?), and he was nice and had good answers to questions I had. Well, in under an hour my car was ready to go. The woman who checked me in walked me through what they did and what they saw as possible needs for the future, she knew her stuff. Definitely had a GREAT experience here, and look forward to coming here instead of the dealership for all of my MINI service needs! read more

I've been taking my 2001 330i to Broad Stroke for the past 3 years. I stumbled upon Broad Stroke after another popular independent on the Eastside quoted me $2k to do Inspection II. The reason for high cost was a laundry list of preventative maintenance they "always do at Inspection II". While the list itself was sound (in line with Mike Miller's "old school maintenance schedule"), I didn't feel like I was given a choice on doing this maintenance. On the other hand, Parker quoted me labor for just the inspection and then called me with a detailed explanation of what he felt needed to be done right away and what could wait. Such transparency from a mechanic and letting customer take an educated part in maintenance of their vehicle is what I value most about Broad Stroke. As long as I have my E46, or any other BMW, I will continue to service it at Broad Stroke. read more

I first discovered Broad Stroke by happenstance - through their booth at the "Mill Creek Festival" many years ago - and am certainly glad that I did. In the years that followed, I've regularly taken three different BMW's (E39 530i, E39 540i and E46 330ci) in for service at their shop. Despite the fact that car repair facilities are somewhat like the dentist in that they are a "necessary evil" and probably not everyone's favorite place to go (given circumstance), I can say that I've always come away from my visits to Broad Stroke with a sense that my vehicle has been in good hands and that I've been treated fairly. Broad Stroke gives honest advice about repairs and potential future upkeep/maintenance. And on the rare, recent occasion where they had to revisit a prior repair, they were quick to step up and do so at no cost to me, the customer - standing firmly behind their work. The news that Broad Stroke now services Audi's was therefore very welcome to us, and their staff has addressed issues on our late-model Q7 (diesel) with the same capable sense of professionalism, transparency, and technical knowhow that has kept us coming back over the years. read more

Good shop to take your BMW and Mini. Very professional staff. Always on schedule and very knowledgeable and thorough. Better prices than the dealership by far -- though their hourly labor cost is lower than most independent shops, somehow their job quote total sum end up being higher in contrast to other independent BMW shops north of Seattle. It seems to come out of the parts price mark up and total number of labor hours. Perhaps it's their parts supplier or they are under staffed at times. In any case, their mechanics really know their BMWs. They take time explaining any issues and what steps to take to solve it. read more

I have been beyond impressed with Parker/Broad Stroke Associates. Parker has repeatedly done outstanding work on both my E46 BMWs (330Ci ZHP and 325i). He has diagnosed mechanical problems that other "experienced" BMW mechanics were not able to, he has worked on a wide range of suspension components on both my track car and daily driver, and he has also done an excellent job of performing thorough maintenance on my cars (filters, fluids, bushings, etc.). Before going to Broad Stroke, I had never received so much honest advice that was right on the money every time; every diagnosis has fixed the issue at hand.
