Parker, Jared, Amy and the guys have done fantastic work on my 2 Mini's - everyone who works there seems to be ex BMW or Mini mechanics so they really know their stuff. They're great to talk to about potential work / modifications . . and are generally just really nice people! I wish they could work on my Volvo too!! Most importantly, for me, I have confidence in their ability to both diagnose problems and then solve them - and the quality of work they do is second to none. As my X-3 28d was over the 50k miles marker and out of basic warranty I brought it to Broad Stroke when the check engine light came on. Chris, the technician diagnosed the issue as one or both of two problems to the diesel exhaust system then Amy, the service writer, contacted a former colleague at a BMW dealership elsewhere who indicated to her that the problem may be covered under an unpublished extended warranty. At that point the repair shop could have just fixed the vehicle and charged me for it and I never would have known the difference but instead they informed me of the possible warranty and suggested I take it to the dealership, which I did. BMW Seattle then fixed the problem under warranty at no charge to me (kudos to them too for squeezing me in and fixing it promptly). That kind of honesty, ethics and professionalism in any business is rare these days but Broad Stroke has earned a permanent customer from this as a result and hopefully more customers as a result of this review. Before taking my 2001 BMW to any shop I called every dealer\shop that works on BMW's to get pricing checked and checked reviews, online. I was told about a BMW auto repair shop off of Highway 9 in the Clearview area by 4 different people and thought that I would check it out. I couldn't have been more impressed after my first visit. All of the staff is very professional, knowledgeable and they had above and beyond the best PRICING!!! This is the ONLY place that I would take my car and have no need to look anywhere else. It is a great feeling trusting an auto repair shop as many don't do quality work or the pricing is outrageous. I would recommend this repair shop to anyone and everyone. Spent $2100 here on a repair to fix an oil leak and change plugs on a car I had just purchased, a 2001 BMW 740i with 108,000 miles on it. After paying the bill and driving home, the check engine light came on (less than 10 miles) I have a code reader at home, and the code was P0011, "Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance, Bank 1". (aka code DME 033?) I called Broadstroke and sought advice. More to come if this post works I will fill in, but upshot is they wanted another $2980 to perform another repair to replace the vanos unit on bank 1. Car was running fine, no check engine light when brought to them. Again, more details to follow.... In a side note, another mechanic upon disassembly noted that the spark plug boots and wells had oil and sludge on/in them. This indicated that care had not been taken to clean the area with the replacement of the plugs. read more

ok our 2003 BMW 530i (milage @ 130k) this is a clean car. Took it in to have the problem looked into ( trouble shoot a problem ) with the engine missing and cutting out at low rpm after taking it to 2 other shops who just installed parts and never fixed the problem. After Broadstroke look it over for 3 hour their tech Chris walked into the lobby showing me clear oil in the DME computer and then gave me a list of $8500.00 in proposed repairs, but they fixed nothing after and the problem still remains. Ignition Coils, spark plugs, DMI, all (4) O2 sensors, throttle body and throttle sensor and additional components are new as replaced withing the part 2 weeks. All new OEM parts. I am a engineer and mechanic and I removed the cabin air filter covers and opened the cover sealing in the DME and all major electrical components, There was not a single sign of oil in the electrical harness, and connectors on any of the multiple modules, now any oil up the wiring harness or in the pan beneath the electrical components and housings. They pretty much outright lied and have a plan to set up clients and show them a DME or other components on the shelf to get you to spend more money for problems that did not exist. If you go there either you will get lied to, stolen from and your car will not be fixed, or if its a easy fix. But you will also get a list of pages of things to repair, there were numerous other item on the list the replace and those are not in need of repair either. This place talks big with we are all integrity and the best out there, be aware your wallet will empty fast and the problem will not be repaired, I cant believe I wrote a great review initially on their website only to do further investigation to find it was all a set up and lie and nothing was fixed. I come only believe they pray on those who know nothing about automobiles and they take major advantage of those victims. I can provide very close in photos and the labor estimates for those interested in knowing some truth about these guys. Parker the onwer call me back and said I was wrong, well then did not show me anything in the shop except when the tech Chris brought in the DME with a smear of oil in the connector location, there was not a drip of oil anywhere in any harness or electrical component. Watch out Parker you have a real sham going on. Your 100% review rating are only posted by you guys so one does not have a chance to change it once they find out its all a sham! read more

Broad Stroke Associates (BSA), specializing in BMW and MiniCooper is an amazing facility. I recently moved to the Snohomish area from Redmond, WA and was just a little hesitant to take my BMW Z-4 to a shop located in what looks a lot like "the back woods". You need to go to their shop and see for yourself. From the front desk to the mechanic these people are highly competent, BMW trained, extremely well equipped and very attentive. Their knowledge and attention to detail is incredible, far better than any BMW dealer or any other specialty shop I have ever gone to. When you take your car there your concerns about your car will be addressed very professionally but you will also receive a complete written analysis of all working parts of your car. This might even include videos helping to detail specific issues. In my case they indicated that there were 47 specific items that are working well and require no additional attention at this time. I've been to other shops that do this but the list is usually more like 6 or 8 items. Last, any car owner is concerned about the cost of service and repair. Having been to multiple BMW dealers as well as two private shops specializing in BMW I can report that Broad Stroke is the most capable and least expensive shop I have been to. I took my BMW in to get it inspected after purchasing in Oregon. Broad Stroke is a throw back to the honest shop with integrity. I waited the 3 hours at the shop for my inspection to get done and what I saw during that time left me speechless. I saw a women come in and say my service brakes light is on I need new brakes. The tech came back 20 minutes later and told her she didn't need new brakes a sensor had fallen off and they had a spare in the shop and replaced it. While I was waiting another women came in and said her convertible top had been broken since last August and decided to get it fixed. Again a tech came back in about 10 minutes and told her a safety lever had just been pulled to prevent the top from working and sent her on her way after showing her. Two examples of a honest shop with integrity that also Knows BMW's. My inspection was very detailed and they did a great job. Broad Stroke has earned a new loyal customer. read more
