Went here on a Saturday while staying at the Hilton nearby and looking for a family-friendly but good option for dinner. Really happy with everything; food was great, staff was very friendly and even let my daughters (5 and 3) 'play waitress' (within reason!). We had the clam chowder (100% recommend; my daughter who never touches new food tried and then ate all of it). I had the Blackened Chicken Breast, which was excellent while my wife had the Salmon, also equally happy with it. Seating was comfortable with plenty of room, and there is a kids menu. Even for a Saturday evening, it was still full of families and couples out for dinner, but it wasn't too loud or crazy. Next time we're back in Boston, happily making a trip back to Broadside. Abhorrent service. On one of the biggest drinking days of the year the bartender refused water service until it was demanded, not requested, stating that 'it's st Patrick's day, we don't serve water'. We were standing outside looking at the menu when a local said that she eats there all of the time. It was a Sunday afternoon and was nice and quiet. The booth was very comfortable. My wife had a sandwich with turkey, avocado, and bacon. She said it was good, as were the fries it came with. I had the chicken pot pie. It had poofy crust on top and giant pearl onions underneath that were difficult to deal with. We thought the food was bland, although it seemed like a lot of care was put into its preparation. This place has lots of choices for sides including a side salad or vegetables. That is unusual for this area. The turkey looked hand carved, not deli sliced. It was quite good. I also had a side of broccoli, which was steamed and as good as can be expected for broccoli. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are average for the area. I ordered poke and got a cleverly constructed - but utterly inedible -version. It felt like eating rock salt, everything was drenched in aggressively salty soy sauce and probably salted again. A true kitchen disaster, I kid you not. In spite of my agreeable nature, I sent the poke back and asked for the tuna Niçoise salad. I was ready to forgive and forget - but by Jove, the salad was drenched in what felt like a gallon of balsamic vinegar. Everything relatively chunky - egg, tuna, potatoes were ok, but the leaves were overwhelmed by the acidity. Went here for lunch during the work week with colleagues. We went on the later side, around 1:00pm, so ended up not having any trouble getting a table (about a 10 minute wait). We ordered a watermelon feta salad to start and my co-worker and I decided to order the Short Rib Grilled Cheese and the Reuben and split them. Watermelon Feta Salad (Special) - 5/5. This was a really good salad. Big chunks of fresh watermelon and loads of feta. The sweetness of the watermelon and the salty tang of the feta were an excellent compliment to each other. Short Rib Grilled Cheese - (3/5). The bread was great and grilled to perfection. The short rib was very soft and cooked well, but lacked flavor. It could have used some acid - like a vinegar based glaze of some kind. As it was, I was glad I only had half of it because it was kind of boring. Reuben - (4/5). Again, great bread. The rye was very tasty and was toasted nice and crispy. The corned beef was very good and paired with the sauerkraut and Russian dressing...this sandwich hit the mark. It was a little on the messy side and most of the stuff squeezed out the sides when I tried to bite into it, but I found a way to finish it off. This place is a marginal improvement over the previous management/ownership/name. Nothing inside has changed, just a new coat of paint and some new stools at the bar. They have a lot of taps, and the prices are competitive, but the food is VERY hit-or-miss. Whatever you do, avoid the salad. It's a pile of sad greens, some cut up cucumbers and two tomatoes, and it does not come with salad dressing unless you ask. If you want "steak" on it, you'll get three or four chunks of salty, chewy, overly-marinated chuck. It's terrible. The "steak tips" are the same blasphemous chunks of terrible. The roasted turkey avocado sandwich is passable, if a little dry. The burger is just okay. The fish & chips, for whatever reason, is superb, as is the tuna Poke. It's acceptable for after-work drinks and very little else. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday night for a bite and a couple beers with the wife. Greeted at the door by a friendly bouncer, gave us our choice of table which is always nice. The service was great and the food was too! My wife ordered the Chicken Milanese and it was absolutely amazing. I had the Fish and chips and it was pretty good but the breading was too heavy. The quality of food was top notch and we will definitely be back. If there was one thing I'd change it would be the heavy cornmeal breading on the fish. Super impressed with the renovation - they did a great job updating the decor, making better use of the space while still having a great casual friendly environment. The menu falls in line with the atmosphere, while still being interesting and relevant. I got the broadside burger which sounds like a basic staple but it was cooked an ACTUAL medium rare and it came with bacon jam which was a nice little twist and a great idea (essentially spreadable bacon that you can smear across the bun so you get bacon flavor in every bite!). Service was also on point. I was there with friends and we had Kerry(I think that was her name) as our bartender. She was super friendly and attentive. She gave us great suggestions on food and remembered our drink orders every round. I HIGHLY recommend her. Paid $60 for cover to watch the fight on 11/12. Two of us went back to the previous bar to get a forgotten credit card and then came back and were told they were "at capacity". When the rest of us came to the door to see why they were stranded outside, were asked to come out of the doorway and then all of us were again told that they were "at capacity" and couldn't go back in.
