I've passed this little gem, which is tucked into the same strip as a gas station, in my way to work for years and never stopped. I decided to give it a shot today. I got the steak egg and cheese sandwich (on pita) and a drink. Everything came to $10. After tip. Everything was cooked perfectly and very filling. The restaurant was extremely clean. I'm sad to say there weren't more people here because as far as breakfast stops go this is a clear winner. It's obviously a place for workers to pop in and grab breakfast and/or lunch as they travel to and from work. The owners are very friendly. Dining room is basic and a little gloomy. We were headed down 17 and I had bookmarked this spot as one to try when in the area. I'm not sure if we hit an off day or this was what to expect on a regular basis, but we were not impressed. My daughter and I each ordered the Reuben combo and my husband ordered a Gyro with a small Greek salad. Reuben was good, but just that. Typically a Reuben is piled high with corned beef and sauerkraut. This sandwich was flat with possibly two pieces of meat and I couldn't even taste the sauerkraut. It was served hot but the bread seemed toasted not grilled. The Gyro was mostly lettuce, tzaziki, and very little meat. Again, most Gyros we've had are packed and hard to hold onto. This pita was not even filled out at all, and it was not grilled either. It was a very disappointing Gyro to say the least. Greek salad was good and fresh, served with banana peppers, feta, and tomatoes. French fries were hot but needed a ton of salt to give them any flavor. All in all not a spot we'll return to in the future. Maybe breakfast is better? read more

The thing that I'm beginning to notice about North Florida is that most delis in the area are run by Middle Eastern families. I find nothing wrong with this because I can find tabbouleh almost everywhere that I turn and that's fantastic. I spotted Time Out when I stopped at the Kangaroo at the corner of US 17 and Raggedy Point Rd to fill my Roo Cup (yes, I get a Roo Cup, especially when I'm in class). Upon walking in, you see the menu and the display case, which is full of different salads (chicken, tuna, macaroni, potato, cucumber & tomato) and Mediterranean faire (hummus, stuffed grape leaves, kibbe, tabbouleh). The menu features a variety of items - sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, breakfast items (which are served until 11 am), and Mediterranean items. I wish I had spotted the salad platter before I ordered, but I guess I can just have it next time. You can pick three salads from the display case and get that as a platter instead of ordering them separately. Although, it is a dollar more if you want tabbouleh to go with it. I did think that the prices were a little high compared to similar delis located throughout Jax. Maybe this is due to this deli's nearness to Fleming Island? I've noticed that many food establishments in this area that are seemingly more expensive than say 5 Points or the Westside. read more

This place seems to have been around forever yet had never been. I learned they had gyros so I stopped by because gyros are one of my absolute favorite things! Shawarma with loads of lettuce, tomatoes, onions and the best part, tzatziki! Sadly, it was average at best. Overall it lacked flavor. Specifically, the tzatziki lacked flavor. I could see that it was present as evidence by the white sauce but I didn't taste it - not even a hint of it. Most of the people I watched coming in seem to be regulars. We had kibbeh, hummus, tabbouleh, grape leaves and a greek salad.Served with warm pita brad. The hummus is topped with lemon and fresh garlic instead of the traditional olive oil. It was tasty, but a bit too overpowering for me.The grape leaves are vegetarian and warmed up instead of served cold like other places. This is a plus not a minus. The tabbouleh is decent/ The kibbie are pretty good as well but I noticed the outer shell is quite soft in comparison to other places I've had them. They are usually crispy. Not that it is a bad thing. It was soft and not oily at all. We also had the greek salad but we did not use the dressing, so I cannot comment on that. Though there were plenty fresh tomatoes and feta cheese. Yummy. As I mentioned before, they were busy with a lot of customers coming in and out with a few sitting to enjoy their food. I've been coming here around a year and a half. It's a small shop next to a gas station. A family run restaurant with a few tables for dining in. The woman running the register is nice and doesn't rush you when you're still deciding. I had the cheeseburger the first time I went. I actually called back to tell them how good it was. The philly cheesesteak is also good. Another time I tried the Greek salad , it was lacking in flavor and they left the lettuce in big chunks and the dressing was boring . The hummus is next up, It's pretty good and fresh but the pita bread is not as soft as I'd like not stale but not that fresh just baked feel .
