This deli was on my way from my brothers house so I just stopped in. Parking was a breeze because…read morethe parking lot was big and empty. When I walked in and looked around, there was nothing really special about the place. They had 3 employees working so that's good for service, that's extremely important to keep customers happy. I made my way to the counter and placed my order. I got my food quick and went to eat it. It wasn't anything to brag about, just your standard egg and cheese with not so much egg and very little cheese. It's worth mentioning the prices are ok in the store, but I will not be going back there. If Yelping has taught me anything, it's don't settle when there are so many places I haven't eaten yet. It appeared to be a problem from the start. As I was looking for other stuff I heard the guy making it say "we don't have half of this shit". I'm not excited to see what I actually get. A couple of other customers came in. The most recent asked for a bagel and when they said they didn't have it, she went to get a juice, saw they were all warm in the fridge and just left. They don't have many of the items you'd expect a deli to have. Not worth coming here.

The Godzilla (crispy pork, cabbage/carrot slaw, with tonkatsu sauce) was packed with thin slices of perfectly fried pork. The tonkotsu sauce was slightly sweet and tangy, and the carrot and cabbage slaw was very complementary to the plethora of pork. The only change I would make next time is perhaps adding some onions (personal preference) and ask for some extra sauce. The Crispy Cuban was also fantastic spin to the classic. Again, packed with crispy pork, the sandwich was then filled with the perfect amount of ham, melty Swiss, and mustard. Nothing felt heavy. I wish I had seen the list of sides before we ordered. People used to travel here just for the potato salad. The recently new owners did a renovation dramatically loosing the deli vibe. The huge trays of freshly prepared deli salads are now gone. Just small containers of regular potato, egg, and maybe one other salad are displayed. It's a shell of what it used to be. Just the name remains. As far as the potato salad... The place is on Post Ave and it is a one or two man operation from what I've seen. The guy that runs the place seems pretty nice. The interior is pretty run down looking and there are bags of chips and cup noodles that look like they've been there for the past 20 years. They do have tables both inside and outside if you order food to stay. I think the food here is fairly solid and priced pretty decently with all things considered in late 2021. I usually get either the hungry man hero (ham, bacon, sausage, eggs and cheese on a hero. About $7 plus tax) or the pancake breakfast platter (pancakes, eggs, meat of choice. $9 plus tax). Both orders will fill you up pretty well. This is probably a decent place to get a BEC. Hopefully this place stays in operation and keeps the solidly priced and hearty breakfast specials coming for a while. Cheers.
