This is a nice place to know about if you are on route 95 North of Baltimore. It is easy on, easy off, with ample free parking. We were heading South from Philadelphia when the dinner alarm went off. I loaded up with with chicken marsala. The thin strips of chicken were tender and the sauce had a nice flavor. There were mushrooms in there, and it was over a mound of pasta that was a shade past al dente. The portion size was really enough for 2 people, so I barely made a dent in the pasta. It came with choice of soup or salad. I went with crab soup. (Cmon, this is Baltimore!) The soup was a hearty medley of vegetables, some pieces of crab, making the soup worthy of the city. I would have liked a little more pepper, and heat, but nothing is stopping you from adding spice. I tasted my son's eggplant mousaka, and it was also quite enjoyable. A rich béchamel layer over eggplant in a beef ragout, this too was capable of satisfying a hearty appetite. I had 2 eggs (sunny side up), bacon, sausage, toast, home fries, and a pancake..mmmmmmmm the eggs were perfect, the toast tasted bakery fresh and was thick sliced, the sausage was cased and delicious, pancake was fluffy and light, and the home fries were perfectly smashed on a griddle with onion and pepper. Sometimes you can't leave a good thing alone. And this night here for dinner we were met with a few disappointing realizations. First, there is no more splitting of bills. One credit card only. I get it, fees can be expensive but I would think you'd build that into the food cost. We do not travel with cash and it's very inconvient to put this on your guests. Second, a huge menu (feels like it's 2lbs of pages and plastic). Confusing, way too many choices and tries way too hard to be everything to everyone. The food costs must be astronomical and instead of managing food costs by pairing down the menu to what sells we as customers are being burdened with having to figure out how to pay with a single card. Third, too many rules. Like having a senior menu that's Monday - Friday till 10pm as one example. We were told more about what they won't do versus what they were willing to do for us. It's left a bad taste in our mouths and right down the road there is a diner that seems to do it right without burdening their guests. We'll head there next time. read more

I have visited Broadway Diner many times because the restaurant is near the hotel I'm staying at during my travel to Baltimore. The menu is pretty big, so you have an opportunity to order a plethora of different dishes. The buffalo wings are delicious and the shrimp stir fry is to die for. I've also had the crab cakes which weren't to bad and you know you can't go wrong with the breakfast. I have even tried the desserts, I like the fact they aren't 'sweet'. The cheesecake is delicious but I wish there was graham cracker crumbs as the crust. There is a variety of different desserts and they all look delicious. The staff is friendly, I tend to have the same waitress every time I go because I dine alone. The restaurant seems to be popular in the area, which tells you the food must be good. Broadway is a standard diner with a cute vibe, but I didn't feel 100% great about their Covid precautions as tables were not spaced beyond having plastic dividers on the backs of booths but we were sat at a table with people right behind both sides of the boot. The wait staff was friendly and food was what you'd expect from a diner. They have pretty good pies for super cheap, but beware you can only get a full pie(smaller, maybe 6inches?), no slices are available but works well for a group or having leftovers! Unsure why I haven't reviewed Broadway Diner yet...strange! Anyways, I've been catching up on Yelp reviews all morning, and they have all been like essays (oops! I just love to write!) so I'm going to try to crunch this one down in size... Open 24/7 and super consistent, Broadway Diner is an All-American diner that has the standard American fare in a menu the size of a small novel. All-day breakfast is a must. The coffee is constantly brewed fresh and served in bottomless mugs, and the service is super friendly. The majority of people who go and sit at the counter are usually solo diners that visit the diner on a regular basis. And if you go enough times, you'll become friends with the servers and they'll be happy to call you by your name and serve you "usual" the way you like it. I somehow always step into Broadway Diner thinking "I'm going to try something new today that isn't from the breakfast menu". I always step our with my usual breakfast order in my belly. But I'm not about to complain about that! But here's my one small issue I consistently face here... they have no idea how to prepare soft-scrambled eggs. When ordered "soft scrambled", the eggs always come out with loose and raw egg whites, a strange watery base spilling out from the eggs, and just slimy and unappetizing in general. So after enough times of realizing that the cooks clearly have no clue how to prepare soft-scrambled eggs, I decided to just go for fried eggs instead. They do fine with that... One of my favorite things here is the breakfast sausage. They come in links and are probably the most satisfyingly breakfast sausage I've had. They are very plump and big in size, always served super hot with a crisp skin and super juicy (and extra greasy!) filling. When you break into the sausage, you hear it "crack" open and the pork sausage juicy goodness spills out with steam. I can't get enough. It's enough of a meal in itself. I see why Guy Fiery said this place had big flavor and not because of the portions. This is a cool diner spot I didn't know was featured on Guy Fiery's Triple D show. If he approves who am I to say otherwise right? This place is located in Baltimore and honestly if you didn't know about it would probably chalk it up to a regular diner and would miss out on tastebud awesomeness. I believe the establishment is run by a family of Greeks and boy do they know food! The set up is diner style at the counter or booths. I like the fact they have the nostalgic staple diner juke box but with an added upgrade. There's a mini juke box at every booth. When you walk in you see the huge Guy Fiery autographed poster with his thumbs up seal of approval above an assortment of mouth watering pastries that makes you wanna take the chance of going into a diabetic coma just to try em all lol. After passing that huge temptation keeping my mind focussed on finding lunch we was seated at a booth and given a menu. The waiter was prompt in asking if we were ready to order and patiently waited until we were. He was very funny and personable making light convo and explaining the dishes. The ONLY gripe that I have is the menu is soooooo huge. If this is your first time and wanted to just browse through the menu it will take you a good 10-15 mins. This wasn't my case but was unsure of what I had a taste for. Which is a good thing as they cover every meal from breakfast thru dinner. Finally decided on a Cesear salad and fried chicken. I was hungry so started on the bread plate which was nice and warm with their butter added to it which had like a brown sugary taste. With this spread the bread tasted like french toast. The salad came quickly and it had a very lively and bright green color to it which signify freshness. The taste was great as every bite has a nice hearty crunch to it with all of the fixins of cucumbers, carrots and onions for all you vegetarians. For you meat lovers a huge beautiful platter of golden brown chicken still sizzling over a blanket of french fries made it's way to me. I'm about to induct them into the fried chicken hall of fame. The chicken was crunchy, crispy and full of color it would've been a crime not to consume it. Say that 3x's fast. It was really good y'all and I love chicken I mean I can live off of chicken every day so I know chicken. I would put that chicken up against anyone's chicken with confidence the flavor would knock em out like fight night. My experience here was just okay. You definitely get so much food for your money. Most specials come with soup and a side. I got the chicken sandwich with fries and chicken and rice soup. My mom got the meat loaf, which came out luke warm-- we don't really send food back so we dealt. She also got the cream of crab soup which tasted very weird, like the crab meat was something else ... It's a diner so they have like 200 items likely ...I knew what I wanted and didn't want to search the menu so Ciara took my order, made recommendations to my specialized requests, was polite, fast and professional-with the perfect touch of sass. She got my order correct without writing anything down (toasted mayo, wheat, American, ranch, strawberry shake) checked on me within the standard "two mins or two bites" ,etc etc etc Silverware was SPOTLESS -very unusual for a place with this price point (especially at midnight-it matters) Portions were generous -food was fresh great- quality ingredients for the price Another high point is Although it was virtually empty when I arrived a teammate -Tabby (#milkshake lady) -jumped right in and offered to make my shake when she overheard the order. She personally delivered it, took the time to engage with me and see if I enjoyed it and best of all ....It was spectacular! Recently I was driving through Baltimore. It was around lunchtime and I wanted to stop. While I've been to the Papermoon a few times, and had nothing but positive experiences, I wanted to try something new. A quick search found the Broadway Diner which also appeared on the Food Network. Atmosphere: The exterior is everything you hope for in a diner. It's metallic, shiny, and retro. It looks like you stepped inside a time machine. The inside is no different and matches the stereotypical diner: shiny, multiple booths and tables, a full length bar and a massive dessert case near the front. It's everything you want in a diner. Coffee: The coffee was good but there was nothing or unique about it. I could have used a few more refills. Service: The waitress was friendly but we definitely could have used more beverage refills. I understand why restaurants use small water glasses, but I needed many more refills. Food: There was everything you can imagine at the Broadway diner. Since we were in Baltimore, the home of (good) crabs, I decided to order the Crab Cake sandwich. Growing up on the Chesapeake, I am a bit sensitive to "good" crab cakes and I can say this was one of the biggest and best crab cakes I've ever had. It was broiled. It was actually difficult to figure out how to eat with the bun. The French fries tasted as if they were cooked with some sort of jalapeño pepper or the oil was reused. I'm not entirely sure. I'm fine with jalapeños but if it wasn't, I could see it causing problems. Cost: $$ For my coffee and sandwich, the cost was $18. I went here on a Saturday afternoon with my aunt and mother. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and seated. Our waitress was really nice although I am not good with names please forgive me. We started out with cold waters with lemon and might I add she kept the glasses full. We didn't order any appetizers because we knew the entree would be plenty. However, I did have to ask for the for the warm bread that they serve. I need to add that the warm bread is delicious. It has just a hint of sweetness. I knew just what I wanted and it was a seafood platter. This meal included the salad with Italian dressing, a baked potato with sour cream, green beans which had mushrooms in it and salmon, stuffed flounder and stuffed shrimp garnished with lemon and carrot strings. I had no complaints about anything. It was simply delicious. I couldn't eat the entire meal while I was at the restaurant. I took home the stuffed flounder, stuffed shrimp and my string beans. The serving size was plenty. I ordered dessert to go which was strawberry cheesecake. I had that later in the evening. It too was delicious. I wouldn't mind having this exact meal in the near future. I want to say something good about a restaurant I have visited many times over the years - particularly when my mother was alive. So, I will say that the unsweetened iced tea was good. Three of us had a late lunch/early dinner there today. One diner had "crispy fish in a wrap. The diner said that it was disgusting (and left it on her plate). Even her french fries had a freezer-burned taste to them. I thought the calamari wasn't even calamari so after a few pieces, I put it to the side. The French onion soup was okay. The dolmas on the Greek salad were covered in congealed oil - so canned. I put them aside. Maybe at least TRY to make a dish visibly appealing by wiping off the congealed oil? We were one of maybe eight tables the entire time we were there. I was kind of put off by the meal and brought mine home (minus the dolmas). A 15% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. Not a fan of that. I normally tip 20% or more. If I am honest, our server probably didn't earn a 20% tip so the amount was fine. I love diners. I've had some awesome meals and happy times at diners. Tomatoes tasted off, so just skipped them. It was a good serving though. - Navajo panini Grilled chicken, avocado, tomato, onions... I forget if there was anything else. A solid 3. Just okay. Grilled chicken was overdone, and they were quite stingy with the avocado. I understand that at the price point, they can't put a whole avocado in the sandwich but I thought it could be better. Portions are huge though! So I took the other half to go. - salmon wrap This wrap was loaded with salmon... and not much else. Which could be a good or bad. Outstanding diner! Been here before, and kind of come often when I have to visit a doctor at Bayview nearby. Came in at 10:30 for breakfast and it was practically empty. Got seated immediately, got my menu and quickly placed an order. i was under time constraints, but I didn't mention that to my server because I knew the food would be out quickly. They strive on quick and complete and hearty. They didn't disappoint! I ordered the pancakes combination with well done bacon. I've learned to order bacon well done after so many places providing me raw bacon. The food came out within 10 minutes, bacon was cooked as requested and pancakes were huge and took up most of the plate. There were 3 of them and they were huge. I knew I had a challenge ahead, but being starved, I put the food ahead in a hurry, drank the pot of tea they brought and finished it off with a glass of water. Service was good, check came quickly and I was out and on the move to my next appointment. I've never had a bad meal here, though the majority of the food I've eaten was breakfast. The purpose of this preface was to let you all know that I don't have Fieri stars in my eyes while I speak about this spot.. This is the eastside's answer to westside's (of town not the nation lol) Double T diner. Whether it's 3am or 3pm, this is a cool spot just to go to when you want something to eat, no frills, no glorified wait, etc. You can get your breakfast on at night and your tbone steak, and store brand grape on in the morning (I dont eat eggs). Breakfast seems to be the most popular any time of day for most of the patrons, I'm guessing due to the variety of dishes/omelets etc, but as I said, eggs are the devil so I wouldn't know much of these things lol My fave dish? The New Orleans salad and I get some sliced avocados on it for an extra dollar and some change. The salads are huge, meal sized, and best believe you probably wont be able to finish the entire thing. Customer service is cool but the reason why this place doesn't get the 5 star whoa nelly is due to the price. Back in the day the prices were way cheaper (by at least $3-$4 a dish) but Baltimoreans now have Guy Fieri to thank for the inflated prices. *grrrr*, but either way, don't let it discourage you from getting a great meal. I was an advocate of diners until I had a bad experience at Nautilus Diner in Timonium. After being charged $1 for each slice of lemon (I had two lemons) I was done with diners. My parents took a trip to Broadway and recommended that we give diners another try and we were not disappointed. After we ate and went to the cashier to pay, the manager refused to honor the restaurant's senior discount policy, which my friends had just recently received at this same Diner, located at 6501 Eastern Avenue in Baltimore. He was rude and refused to believe the three seniors who received the discount earlier. He was not only rude, he was also incompetent and did not even know his boss' name, when we asked for a name to whom we could lodge our complaints. My family was skeptical, but this place was solid! We came for dinner around 11 pm and were seated and served quickly. Our waitress was, at first a bit unfriendly, but warmed up to us after a bit. We got a veggie omelette with onion rings, a Buffalo chicken salad, and a Monte Cristo sandwich with fries. The entrees were generously sized, particularly the salad! The Monte Cristo wasn't totally dipped in French toast batter and fried, it was much more like it was grilled. It also did not come with its usual accompaniments: powdered sugar and strawberry preserves. It was still good, but not close to authentic. The menu is like a novel! Prepare to be quite confused at what to order because the options are vast. I started with a glass of wine which came in a fancy plastic glass. And after much thought, opted for the special for that day, the chicken and shrimp paella. It came with either soup or salad and I chose a lemon crab soup which came with the most yummy sweet bread. It was similar to Hawaiian sweet rolls and tasted like heaven when you dipped it into the soup. The paella came out piping hot! Think everyone burned their mouth when they tried it haha. I barely got to eat enough before everyone else was all done. It was pretty good though and came with a lot of chicken and a good amount of shrimp. Although, the shrimp was a little overcooked. Fiancé got the monte cristo sandwich. The fries were nice and crispy but the sandwich was lacking. It did not have enough meat in it and the bread seemed to be just buttered and grilled. It was like more of a grilled cheese sandwich with a little bit of meat in it. Our server was nice and checked on us frequently but she seemed to rush us a little bit. And asked us if we wanted dessert before dinner and brought us boxes before some of us were done too. The place is 24 hours though and they have a lot to choose from. I would rather eat at home than waste my money at a diner. Ok now that I've gotten that out the way... I decided to try this diner because of rave reviews from my in-laws. I didn't realize until looking at the menu that this diner was featured on Guy Fieri's show. I ordered the Hungarian Goulash which was recommended by Guy Fieri. It was shockingly amazing!! The picture doesn't look like much but looks are deceiving. The dish was packed with flavor. It was served with a sweet-tasting cheese bread that is among the top breads I've ever had at a restaurant. Believe me when I say this diner is not normal. So love this place,Me & hubby have been going here for years,never dissapointment,So last nite 01/18/20,we went out for our date nite,we had other plans to go else where,but unfortunately did not work out that way,so instead I made the choice for us to come to our all favorite spot Broadway Diner....It was not crowded,very warm,& we had our favorite booth,our waitress was very nice...We started off with some Burbon Boneless wings,to start with,& my hubby ordered A dish called Land of the sea....I will post pic's,of that,& I ordered as always the 2double crab cake meal,which never disappoint,& we both ordered ceaser salad,which is,my favorite.....Food was delicious,had a very wonderful date nite, Broadway Diner Is worth every penny,if u haven't been yet,please do ,u will love it .. read more

This was our first visit at this diner and I have to say it was a good experience. Hubs ordered the veggie omelette with a short stack of pancakes and I ordered the mushroom omelette. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were big. Our waitress was so attentive and very nice. I can't wait to return to try some lunch and or dinner options. read more

Recently I was traveling from DC to Long Island and was looking for a place to eat. I knew the basic time frame I had wanted to stop so was looking for a place that was open a bit later...something that wasn't a chain yet local...after some searching on the Food Network website and trying to find a place close to the interstate, the Baltimore Diner was the place I would try out. Walking in there I found it to be a really neat place, something out of the 1950s...it wasn't overly busy so got a table right away. After parousing the menu, I decided on soup and a grilled chicken sandwich with a Chesapeake Sauce over it (seems their specialty as I found a lot of their sandwiches had this sauce you could have over it) which was very tasty and filling. The free refills on soda were also a help. Yes it was a bit pricey but considering the location, it was worth it. If I am ever in the area and am looking for a decent, generous portion sized meal (and maybe for something a bit different than I might get in the Midwest), I'll go back here. read more

Terrible service. I watched a waitress come back from a smoke break and she did not wash her hands after. While the kitchen door was open I saw a cook eating spaghetti with his hands out of the pot. All of the wait staff was standing around playing on their phones. I order the Mac and chess balls were okay but they were put in a gob of marinara sauce, which was nasty. read more
