Growing up in New Jersey, the diner capital of the world, I have always loved and appreciated what a diner can be a represents. A diner is truly a crossroads of a community. You will have a man breaking for lunch from a nearby factory sitting at the counter next to a lawyer grabbing a quick lunch of a burger and fries. You will have families occupying tables next to a table of a widower who comes here every day because he never really learned to cook and now with his wife gone, he just finds it easier to come here than try to learn to cook. You will have teenagers and travelers, revelers and those who are in a perpetual rush from point A to point B. It truly is a crossroad of the community and on top of all of that, quite often a place to grab a quick meal at a competitive price. The Broadway Diner immediately caught my eye with its stainless steel and neon exterior and I knew that this is where I would be enjoying breakfast. The menu is pretty straightforward and offers what you would expect from a diner. I opted to go with a western omelette. All in all, it was a great breakfast and my server was fantastic. Diners are definitely a slice of Americana and hold a special place in both my heart and memories. The Broadway Diner is a great place to head towards for a great meal. I came here on Saturday morning while visiting Baltimore. I really enjoyed my breakfast. It is a very traditional diner with a huge menu and plenty of options. The server was really nice and efficient. The portions were big and I was happy to see they do the classics very well. By company loved the pancakes here and they gave him a choice of hot syrup or packaged for his pancakes. The sausage link with his breakfast was really tasty and big. I had the classic corned beef hash and eggs. It was standard but cooked well and the cheddar in my eggs was perfect. What I loved most were the home fries. They were crispy fried with onions. My burger was terrible for $16 i expected something way better I didn't even eat half of it 2 bites is all I could handle it sucked only good thing about the place was the parking lot since we were staying in Baltimore no where around had parking that's the reason we chose to eat here . The Manager would rather argue, degrade you, and tell you how you are wrong based on her experience rather than listen to costumer's complaint or request for not linking the food. The food was mediocre, the bathroom smelled like sewage. If you're looking for a good breakfast go somewhere else. The manager Nancy, was so rude, I don't know how she could be a manager. I ordered eggs Benedict... I get that poached eggs are supposed to be runny but these were barely cooked, the white part was not just runny but clear. I though I was ordering cooked food. When I mentioned I took two bites from the dish and stopped eating the manager said "well you should've ordered them well done" again I thought I ordered cooked food. It is our new favorite place to eat. The quality of the food is excellent. It tastes great if you ask my spouse but for me I can't get past the dessert counter! I have the fresh fruit custard tarts and cheesecake but we just moved into the area so I will keep in touch. It is shiny and they are some of the best servers I've had in the almost 30 years of living in Baltimore. It is very well. Fast service but you never feel rushed. I say give this one a go! Diner breakfasts don't get any better than this. In fact the entire diner experience was exactly the way it should be. We stopped in for breakfast Monday morning - we were tired of the bad hotel breakfasts and decided to treat ourselves. Walking in, it was hard to tell if this was an original diner or one made to appear "retro" - it was that good. The typical pastries, pies and cakes in the display in front, along with the counter stools and booths made us feel like we were in a great diner in NJ (the Diner capital of the world..LOL). Service was with a smile, and it was quick and accurate. I asked for eggs over medium with crispy bacon and rye toast, and everything I got was PERFECT. I mean perfect to the point where it was so amazingly perfect, I had nothing negative to say. They even had the good stuff to go along with the toast and potatoes - Smucker's and Heinz! Sorry we didn't get here sooner - we would have foregone the included crappy hotel breakfast every day of our stay. Stopped here awhile back (year ago) while in town for a convention downtown. There are several menu options- and by several I mean hundred. The menu is vast - to the extent of Cheesecake Factory but more than that with burgers, sandwiches, entrees, and even pasta and cuisine from other walks like Greek, mexican, etc. What is cool is the dessert case when you first walk in - as well as the diner on steroids feel due to the fact this place is A MONSTER SIZE. We brought an out-of-town guest tonight to the diner having gotten a recommendation from a local friend. We were looking forward to a good diner meal and ended up embarrassed because the food was so poorly prepared and presented. The two chicken dishes had chicken that was almost inedible ( tough and overcooked ) the French onion soup was so thick it couldn't even be considered soup and the Greek specialty platter was a plate of mush . The spinach pie did not resemble any Greek spinach pie I've had before. The manager knew how disappointed we were but offered no compensation at all , nor did he seem to care . Oh my goodness the menu selection is huge!! I will definitely be back to try different parts of the menu. I had the ultimate grilled cheese with tomato soup and it was delicious! Mine was grilled with cheese on the outside of the bread but the other photos in other reviews don't show that so take a look at mine. I ended up peeling the cheese off the bread because eating fried cheese makes me think of old times when I was younger. After peeling the cheese, the bread was soft and buttery! Not toasted as I'd like a grilled cheese but it was still goooood, dipped in my tomato soup. My hubby got the Reuben, my grilled cheese was way better so I already don't remember my one bite from his sammich. My friend got the Chesapeake burger which is an angus burger with crabmeat on top of the patty. I didn't take a bite but she enjoyed it lots! She says it was nice greasy old time craving. This is probably the only diner worth going to in Baltimore. It was beyond the average diner service and food level. It was actually delicious with attentive staff. We ordered some late night hamburgers, grilled cheeses, and milkshakes. The grilled cheese was a fluffy and googy delight. The veggie burger was handmade which is impressive (for a diner). The turkey burger was hyped too much by our server and unfortunately did not live up to expectations. The milkshakes, however, were life changing. Our server took 10-15 minutes to make this liquid crack. She used actual chocolate bits in the chocolate milkshake along. In the vanilla option she didn't use any milk, just cream, ice cream, and vanilla flavoring. It was a dream. It was a great consistency that was still manageable to move through a straw without being too liquidy. I'd absolutely come back for a late night snack especially since they are open 24/7. I can't believe that in all the years I've lived in Maryland, I had never been to Broadway Diner until last night. Came here on a Monday evening for dinner. What an expansive menu! It was so hard to choose what to get. Did I want breakfast? Did I want dinner? Did I want an appetizer and dessert? Haha it was a tough choice. Ultimately I decided to get a juicy Lucy burger which comes with fries. The burger certainly earned its name - it was very juicy and perfectly seasoned. The bacon stuffed inside was nice and crispy. And then the fries. First of all, they came out piping hot and fresh. These fries were some of the best I've ever eaten. I wasn't expecting perfect fries at a diner, but I definitely wasn't disappointed. My counterpart got a Reuben burger and it was amazing. The meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the bread was toasted just right. The service was also great and the prices were reasonable. Took my parents when they were in town for a good and budget friendly meal we got budget friendly but the food was almost inedible. Lots of leftovers which no one took home. This diner is all that and more. A diner deserves 5 stars alone for being clean. This diner was immaculately clean. The customer service was on point and business was booming. The pancakes were fluffy and soaked up the syrup perfectly, eggs (so good with the cheese) and the sausage was hearty. I will have to come back to try the Elvis French Toast. The wife chose the turkey dinner while the kid and I went with the chicken parm with Alfredo sauce. The intro salad had lettuce, carrots, onions, tomatoes and cucumber. The appetizer break was warm and fresh. Think their menu is huge? The entrees are just as big! Good grief, each of us could only finish a third of our plate. I will preface this review by stating that I'm not a big fan of diners. My wife wanted to go to a diner, so we tried this one. Starting with the positive...I ordered the French Dip and it wasnl not bad. The omlete at our table and the others from other tables that I saw looked awful. Flat and no fluff at all. I'm not sure how someone can ruin grits, but the grits had an off taste that resembled a cucumber flavor. Who knows. Our server probably should seek another position. He served 2 out of 3 dishes to a nearby table, then, he placed their third dish to a person at our table. When we told the sever that our person ordered the omlete, the other tables dish was placed in front of me. I told him that I ordered the French Dip, so he picked up the plate from in front of me and delivered it to the other table where they were wondering about their third plate. I sat and watched as others at my table ate for several minutes until my French Dip arrived. Half way through my meal, the server offered to refill my water which was half full. He disappeared with my cup and did not return. I ended up drinking my wife's drink. Ten minutes later and the meal completed, the server placed a new water down. Thanks, pal! Late night grubbin on the horizon? this diner is worth checking out!. Apparently this place was featured on Food Network's Triple D. They ordered 3 menu items that was featured on the show. So we decided to order 2 of the 3. The Seafood festival which was a lobster tail, pasta, mussels, clams, shrimp, and scallops. We also ordered the Potato brunch salmon with spinach.
