They took great care of me, and I appreciate the attention to detail. This is now my preference over Zareens by a long shot, much more comfortable dining experience. 10/10 thank you ! I went with a group of friends to this place for the first time for a Sunday lunch. Food was really yum and the flavors were unique. Tried a coconut cauliflower based starter and that was really good. Even the curries were very good. Service was good too. But none of us liked our drinks. The tropical fruit was literally mango fruity with some other fruit syrups, sweet lassi had cardamom at max ( same as mango lassi). Celebrated Father's Day at Broadway Masala in Redwood City, and we had such a memorable experience! Parking was a little challenging, but we were happy to make it on time for our reservation. We were a group of eight, which gave us the perfect excuse to try a wide variety of dishes. The customer service was outstanding, our server was very attentive, gave great recommendations, and even helped us avoid over-ordering by letting us know when we had enough food. They also suggested the right number of naans for our group, and they were spot on. One of the highlights was trying Rumali Roti for the first time. It paired beautifully with the curries, and I am officially a fan! It's such a unique type of roti that not many Indian restaurants offer. For appetizers, we enjoyed the Gobi Manchurian, Lamb Kebabs, and Bhatti Ka Paneer. For entrées, we tried the Goat Curry, Eggplant dish, Fig & Walnut Koftas, Butter Chicken, and Wok-Fried Shrimp. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and had the perfect balance of spices, not too spicy and not too mild. The desserts were soo good ! The Jalebi with Rabri (most restaurants only offer Jalebi but this pair was delicious), Thandai Tres Leches Cake, and Chocolate Molten Cake were absolutely incredible, easily a 10/10 (or more!). The seating was a little tight for eight people, but it was still comfortable and didn't affect our overall experience. We were excited to try their Unlimited Thali which is offered Monday through Friday during lunch. They offer chicken, lamb, meat experience, or paneer. It comes with several traditional sides. I really liked that they offer pappad as I am gluten free. The lamb was boneless and tender. The butter chicken was juicy and well flavored. The dal was on the creamier side and the saag was flavorful. So overall, the food was great. As there is always room for improvement, I wish they would offer an option that you could have meat and paneer, rather than two meats. I ordered a really tasty Chaar Mirch Chicken Curry--turmeric/yellow-brown curry w/dark meat, 4-chili melange so med-spice & it was very authentic! We were all saying "Mmmmmmm!!" Schubert mentioned that the raita would temper down the heat and it caused us to sweat, LOL! Oh that turmeric & Indian spice! Wasn't unbearable & a medium spice level. We really enjoyed Broadway Masala. It's quite big inside with tall ceilings, and it's well decorated with the nice smell of incense to greet you in. Service was great and very attentive. They refilled our water and sodas a lot! The avocado bhel puri caught my eye on the menu and I'm so glad we tried it. The creamy avocado balances out some of the spice and tang from the chutneys. The bhel/sev were still crunchy too and didn't get soggy so you can tell they make it fresh. The sizzler plate was good, but I was surprised the chicken had bones. The kebab was tasty, and i loved all the grilled onions they came on top. Butter chicken was pretty good, albeit small. Garlic naan was delicious! The flavor of the butter chicken itself was good and comforting, with a nice balance of spices. However, the tomato green sauce that came with it was a bit overwhelming for me. It was much spicier and saltier than I expected, which ended up overpowering the dish instead of complementing it. I usually enjoy flavorful Indian food, but this sauce was a little too intense for my personal taste. There are plenty of metered parking spots around this restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly waiter upon entering the restaurant. The ambiance is kind of upscale. All the tables were covered with white table cloth and had nice table setting. There were some many things on the menu that we wanted to try. We decided to order the All Meat Thali and the Biryani & Kebab Thali. Our food came out in a timely manner. The butter chicken was very flavorful. Both of the Thali were nicely garnished. The lamb in the lamb curry was tender. The Biryani was very tasty and the kebab was tender and juicy. The basket of Naan bread was freshly made and warm when it got to our table. The Gulab Jamun wasn't too sweet, which we really liked. The waiter and waitress checked on us several times. They were very attentive and kind. Third visit to this restaurant. Went here for dinner after a movie. The restaurant is very cozy and has some nice interior. We ordered a chicken and a lamb dish. Along with some pappadoms, naan bread and drinks. I enjoyed the Murg Methi Malai, very creamy and super tender chicken. My wife's lamb dish was also good, but was too spicy for her. The dishes are always bursting with flavor, unfortunately quite a few pack too much of a punch for our palettes. The rice, naan and crisps helped to neutralize some of it. Had chur chur naan with tawa paneer--easily the best paneer sabzi I've had in the US. Naan was decent. Ambience was modern and upscale with average noise levels for an Indian restaurant Food : This is where my expectations fell short Railway Cutlets (3/5): while it had the right level of crisp (and upon breaking them open, even looked like authentic railway cutlets) the taste didn't quite blow me away. I can't quite put my finger on why, but I suspect it may be there wasn't enough salt. Pesto Paneer Tikka (2.5/5): this was a disappointment. Firstly the paneer hadn't been marinated enough so once you got through the pesto on top and bit into the paneer it was pretty tasteless. Secondly, the paneer itself didn't seem to taste fresh. The pesto itself was good but would have tasted better if the paneer had been marinated longer in the pesto. Bharwan Aloo Tikki (2/5): this was just so spicy we couldn't enjoy any of the underlying flavor. Feel free to skip this dish Avocado Bhel: (3.5/5) the saving grace of our meal. The wife found it flavorful (I disagreed) and not spicy. Malai Ghevar (3.5/5) - was one of the two things I enjoyed. Don't typically get this at most restaurants. Flavor and presentation was great with the only downside being that the ghevar was overly crisp and a bit hard to cut. Beverages: We ordered 3 drinks as well but one was a bit too salty/bitter (Masala Soda 2.5/5) another was just ok (Mango mojito 3/5) while mango lassi (2.5/5) was heavy on the yogurt and not enough mango. I can see why this restaurant has such a high rating. I put a reservation for 5:30, but we came a little earlier and they sat us right away. The inside is very elegant and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our server was knowledgeable about what dishes contained tree nuts as I have an allergy. The samosas were perfectly cooked. I was surprised with how big the portion was for the lamb chops. I think it was 6 bones in total but cut into 3 pieces. The flavor on the lamb was amazing. I will definitely order it again. It was so flavorful throughout and had a nice crust to it. I like to put a little lemon on mine and the acidity was the perfect touch. The butter chicken was very good as well. It had great flavors and the chicken was juicy. The garlic naan was so flavorful as well and went perfectly being dipped in the butter chicken. My husband had a mango lassi and it was creamy and not too sweet. By accident he knocked his glass over and spilled it all over the table, chair, and floor. We Finally tried it for the first time and the place is Clean and Nicely decorated with friendly staff. I find the dining style to be elegant and it is quite nice.
