The weather, the beer, the food and a fun barmaid in a wood paneled pub are all single qualifies that makes me harken back to my past, living in London and then in North Wales in the 1980s. And the other patrons, Americans all, still were like an American version of an English pub crowd. There were young and old, posh business types, sitting next to manual laborers.. The barmaid (whose name was known by most of the regulars there, although I have forgotten it (alas I must be getting old!) is a pistol. Always chatting and joking, while she poured pints, and even Bells scotch, which is a standard blend found in just about every pub in England. The only sense that was missing was the ubiquitous scent of wood (oak) found in almost all of the pubs in Britain. That unmistakable scent you can find in the many old (generally Irish) pubs around Faneuil Hall, btw. When I asked the barmaid (always smiling and laughing) about the fish n chips, she gave a wink and said "ooh, Love. Ya picked the best day for that. The fish is delivered from the dock every Wednesday." I ordered a pint of Smithwicks ale to enjoy at the bar, as she took my order for fish n chips. She leaned forward and whispered to me, somewhat conspiratorially, that it's served with salad, as the owner has not yet found a coleslaw recipe that meets his standards. Very evocative again. I watched, listened and drank my ale deeply, as the barmaid described another barmaid as "so wonderful, the only thing missing is there should be two of her!" We all nodded and laughed. Fun place. The fish n chips arrived hot, very fresh and perfectly crunchy with beer batter. The chips (fries) were hand cut, as you could see the small bits of potato skin at the ends. Served with a very attractive and crunchy salad, and of course malt vinegar, it was a bargain at a lower price than the $20+ charged at many local watering holes. I ordered another pint, and then dug in. It was very fresh and somewhat thick piece cod. The flesh of the fish separates into large fleshy flakes under the crispy beer batter, and the chips had flavor (as opposed to the more common extruded fries usually found here). But it's more than just the food and the bar. The atmosphere at this pub is so very real--sort of the best aspects of some nice neighborhood cozy pubs in Britain. If it's cold outside, you can just shamble in, and rub your hands together and mutter "lovely" as you savor your drink and food. Welcome!

The atmosphere is casual with wooden dining tables on one side, a long high table with multiple high seating running through the center of room and a long bar along the inside wall. There's a pool table in the rear. Tables had nice space between them; we didn't feel crowded in. GOOD FOOD & GREAT PORTIONS FOR A VERY GOOD PRICE. If you really want a to get happily filled up without emptying your wallet, then this is the place for you. Salads are huge, fresh, well prepared and even better when topped with their grilled chicken, tuna, or seafood salad. Greek and Caesars salads are always excellent. MONSTER SUBS for under $8.00 !!! So big that it's large enough for two meals or two people. Hot and Cold subs are served quickly and perfectly each time, The Fish & Chips portion for the fish was about DOUBLE what you find elsewhere for the same price. The large take-out box could barely contain all the fish they put into it. Their TWO-FOR Specials knock even more off their already great values. Haven't tried their Pizza or Calzones yet, but they looked pretty tempting. This restaurant's owners had some big dreams for finding success in a good location (opposite the McDonald's on Broadway) where many other businesses had come and went before. They've got the right combination of serving good eats with very generous portions at very humble prices. Service is friendly and fast and the owners know what old-fashioned hospitality really means. Dine-in seating is clean, spacious, comfortable, cool, and relaxing. Despite all the available food choices in Norwood, keeping to their standards ought to make Broadway Pizza and Grill a new local institution. read more

Tried Broadway pizza for the first time while visiting friends in Norwood. They recommended to try this establishment from their past experience. Ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich, it was to die for !!!! The right amount of homemade sauce topped with cheesy melty cheese! My son tried the chicken broccoli Alfredo pasta! Another home run by the Broadway cook and stuff! Finally my daughter tried the bacon pizza. Excellent pizza sauce topped with crispy bacon and melted cheese!!! All stuff seem to care greatly for their establishment since they checked a couple times with our party if everything was to our liking. Very clean place on top of amazing delicious food. Definitely you need to try this place if you have not. Next time I am in town I will for sure stop by again to try some of their other succulent sandwiches and dishes!!!! read more

This (mostly takeaway or delivery) restaurant is fantastic place to find a delicious dinner. There are roughly eight tables which are always, well kept. Typically I order delivery which is always prompt and hot! Love it! Pizza is great, crunchy crust, just the right amount of cheese but my favorite is the sauce. I have also enjoyed their albacore tuna grinder, tuna with lettuce tomato and onion always fresh. Delicious. My favorite these days is their chicken parmigiana dinner. Since I'm such a huge fan of their sauce I always order extra! Lol, I could drink that sauce. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Broadway Pizza! read more

We were looking for a place to have supper and stumbled across Broadway Pizza & Grill. We got a variety of menu items as there was three of us. The tuna salad was the tastiest my grand daughter ever tasted, the meatball sub was toasted to perfection (this was the item I got) and Chicken fingers with French fries and onion rings must have been tasty because Jim never spoke until his plate was empty and there was a big smile on his face! Discovered this gem during a weekend trip, and it was a very positive experience. As simple as the place may seem, it has an extensive menu of italian dishes, pizzas, calzones, and subs. The food was great in taste and ingredients were fresh. The sub and calzone portions were huge. Service was excellent, and the staff and owner are beyond friendly. great food, I come in here most days for lunch break and it is always amazing. The service is great I come in, and he always says hi, he remembers my name and my order and gets it ready when I come in. Broadway Pizza did an amazing job from when we entered the place to when we left! We got slices -- hot and ready right away -- and the owner greeted us and asked us to let him know what we thought when we were finished.
