I love Conrad's and today I saw their new location in Cobb's Corner Canton. It is under construction where once stood Bertucci's. The area in this Plaza is coming back to the level once it stood.

Our waitress was sweet. Steak tips was delicious, that's what I came for. Had nachos for appetizer, large portion size. My daughter had the salmon bowl, she was pleased. I forgot the name of my drink but it had tequila and Red Bull. Very Strong, a little too strong for me. I'll be back to sit on the cute patio when weather permits.

So I realized that I hadn't reviewed this place when I went there 10 years ago so I did so now (lots of good places to go in Norwood and this one is on the pricier side) When I went 10 years ago the steak tips were the best I've ever had, now they were just good. Everyone loved their dishes especially the clam chowder, however the fried pickles or the spinach artichoke dish weren't perfect. They were good, just not ones where I would say to someone you have to get them. Nice quiet atmosphere, plenty of parking with their own lot and a separate room for functions. Service was great and brought me a refill without having to call the waitress over and even remembered no ice I ask for which at many places is just ignored. It used to be a 5 star place for me, now it's a 4 star. Still a recommended place to go, just not the steak tips it used to have. Update: (response to the owner comment that I don't know how else to respond to). What is needed is to start having the old steak tips again. I had read comments from people on next door that the steak tips here were not as good as they used to be, so whatever they changed, they need to change back. Also the fried pickles tasted as though they hadn't been dried enough before frying. They were good but not perfect.

True Score: 3.5 Stars Meh, expected better Conrad's is a large local eatery that specializes in steak tips. They do have a large bar which we sat down pretty quickly. Sat at bar and the take out phone rings constantly. It would be nice if it would ring somewhere else for the takeout orders. The place was packed on a Friday nignt and there was only two bartenders (Who were doing the best they could.) and no barback. There was suppose to be a third bartender but they didnt know where she went. They had to make the drinks for the house as well as take Keno orders and put the glasses in and empty the dishwasher. One customer played at least 5 tickets every 5 games. We ordered the steak tips medium rare and a turkey reuben. The tips were decent, but we had heard raving reviews. These are no north shore tips. The sandwich was decent. We just expected more. The staff and clientele are very nice and accommodating but overall the service is not great. I'm saying not go, but I'm also not saying to rush here either. We wanted to love it, but it just fell a little flat. Thanks

The atmosphere is decent but unfortunately the service was a bit off. Waitress was really nice but seemed really busy and forgot to come back with an answer to a food related question. Busser seemed distracted, came over to "drop" off small plates and they happened to be dirty. Also he wasn't aware aware of a missing part of the order. I ordered the broiled haddock and it wasn't that great, wasn't much flavor and I tasted too much oil. Others in my party got the steak tips and cheese sandwich and said it wasn't that great.

Best steak tips around! Nachos were also a crowd pleaser. I got the steak tips dinner with mashed and mixed veggies which were delish! Hubby got a steak tip sub with fries. Server was very friendly and even made recommendations. Popular spot in the area.

Maybe it was just what I got here, but I really wasn't a fan and I really wanted to like it. My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday and we were able to sit out on the patio. The patio was a really nice area. We both got 22 ounce beers which were great. We ordered the Buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer. This came with home made potato chips instead of nacho chips, which I'm completely fine with, but the chips weren't cooked fully and they were really soggy. That being said, the dip itself was really good. Then I got the steak tip and cheese sub done medium. Maybe I just wasn't expecting the steak tips to be so thick on a sub was it was so difficult to chew one steak tip never mind in the sandwich. I had to cut the steak tips up into small pieces to even attempt to eat it as a sub. Every piece was chewy and raw in the middle, not cooked to medium. It was very disappointing. My boyfriend had gotten a pastrami sandwich which he really enjoyed. While the food was just ok in my opinion, our server was really great and very attentive for having an almost full patio. I would like to try this place again as they seem to have a large menu with a lot of different option, but the sandwich was not for me.

The food is phenomenal, service not so much, leaves much to be desired. I'm sure if you sit at the bar it's a much better experience.

The weather, the beer, the food and a fun barmaid in a wood paneled pub are all single qualifies that makes me harken back to my past, living in London and then in North Wales in the 1980s. And the other patrons, Americans all, still were like an American version of an English pub crowd. There were young and old, posh business types, sitting next to manual laborers.. The barmaid (whose name was known by most of the regulars there, although I have forgotten it (alas I must be getting old!) is a pistol. Always chatting and joking, while she poured pints, and even Bells scotch, which is a standard blend found in just about every pub in England. The only sense that was missing was the ubiquitous scent of wood (oak) found in almost all of the pubs in Britain. That unmistakable scent you can find in the many old (generally Irish) pubs around Faneuil Hall, btw. When I asked the barmaid (always smiling and laughing) about the fish n chips, she gave a wink and said "ooh, Love. Ya picked the best day for that. The fish is delivered from the dock every Wednesday." I ordered a pint of Smithwicks ale to enjoy at the bar, as she took my order for fish n chips. She leaned forward and whispered to me, somewhat conspiratorially, that it's served with salad, as the owner has not yet found a coleslaw recipe that meets his standards. Very evocative again. I watched, listened and drank my ale deeply, as the barmaid described another barmaid as "so wonderful, the only thing missing is there should be two of her!" We all nodded and laughed. Fun place. The fish n chips arrived hot, very fresh and perfectly crunchy with beer batter. The chips (fries) were hand cut, as you could see the small bits of potato skin at the ends. Served with a very attractive and crunchy salad, and of course malt vinegar, it was a bargain at a lower price than the $20+ charged at many local watering holes. I ordered another pint, and then dug in. It was very fresh and somewhat thick piece cod. The flesh of the fish separates into large fleshy flakes under the crispy beer batter, and the chips had flavor (as opposed to the more common extruded fries usually found here). But it's more than just the food and the bar. The atmosphere at this pub is so very real--sort of the best aspects of some nice neighborhood cozy pubs in Britain. If it's cold outside, you can just shamble in, and rub your hands together and mutter "lovely" as you savor your drink and food. Welcome!

It's colorful, it's groovy, it's bright, it's nostalgic. Even the employees are wearing shirts with funky themes and patterns. There are TVs showing shows from back then. The floors are checkered, the ceiling is silver, the chairs are red and the tables are blue. We were seated at a booth, which can more than comfortably sit 4-6 people. The menu is HUGE, think cheesecake factory but for a diner. There's a little bit of everything but the font and everything around it makes it hard to focus on what each item is. I went very simple and chose the Simon and Garfunkel which included two pancakes or French toast, two eggs, two bacon, two sausage, toast, and home fries for $18.99. After about 15 minutes, our food came out. The bacon could have been crispier, with some parts being wobbly. The sausage was thick, juicy, and savory. The potatoes were a little bland and mushy on the outside. The eggs were cooked medium, just how I requested them, and the englush muffin was a little different than your traditional ones since it didn't have the little pockets of air but it was still good. The French toast was moist, but I wish it had more cinnamon - the egg was the dominant flavor. Overall, it was a very satisfying breakfast. There is plenty of parking as it's in a plaza
