SOOOO DEMURE 5/5 This nursery is so cutesey, so mindful, so demure. It is so organized, aesthetically pleasing and has it all. From colorful succulents, rare tropical plants, seasonal garden vegetables, seeds and the cutest selection of pottery. Everything is priced great. It's a one stop shop for me since I am a plant collector and Gardner. Every worker there made their way to ask if I needed assistance or gave me a compliment. They were all so sweet and welcoming. Im already excited to go back and shop when their fall/winter vegetables come in.

    Beautiful Succulent Gift.

Just bought this wonderful gift. My third one in last year for special gifts. Each time people just love receiving. Thanks to Andre I recommend this lovely spot for gifts and your garden.

I went to this nursery for the first time yesterday, and was throughly impressed with this place! The plant selection was top notch, and on top of that their prices were actually affordable, which is pretty much unheard of when it comes to nursery's in the Bay Area. I will definitely be coming back!

This is THE spot for houseplants! This is a cute little place right conveniently next to Village Market with lots of parking. And while it's not huge, they have a great selection. I've tended to come here for native plants, herbs and veggies. Today, I came in to see if I couldn't find some houseplants to replace all the ones I killed. Who knew that's one of their specialties? I had very specific needs - little sun, easy to grow and cat friendly. I got such good advice from the owner. She had things organized by sections for light, water and pet-friendly and took me on a tour to point out what would work well for me. Even better, they had all sizes so I could start with little baby ones to see how they fared with my cats and in my environment. It was delightful.

Went here just last weekend and love the selection! Ended up taking home two medium sized plants --a Hindu Rope & a String Of Pearls! Amazing customer service as well, will be back soon.

So many succulents to choose from! Also a large outdoor area (flowers/shrubbery). A small indoor plants area with lots of cute planters. Great little nursery and very nice staff :)

This is one of my favorite nurseries! I love their great selection of plants. I've gotten countless houseplants, herbs and veggie plants, a meter lemon tree, a magnolia tree, lavender bushes, and assorted succulents. I always end up getting pots here for my indoor jungle too. There's so many cute ones to choose from. They also have a rewards program along with their sister nursery Yarrow Nursery (also in Oakland). I'm a happy local customer, and I'll keep coming back for more!

Ask the Community - Broadway Terrace Nursery

Do you sell any citrus plants? Thinking about growing an orange tree even though I have no idea how :)?

Yes we do! We are out of lemons right now due to supply chain issues but should have quite a few oranges.

Do you guys have orchids and how much are they?

Yes we do! We have phaleonopsis. Small two stemmed ones are $25 and large two stemmed are $40. The price includes us changing out the sticks with branches, moss and leaf shine.

Hi! Just wondering if you guys happen to sell bonsai tree?

Hi! Unfortunately we don’t sell bonsais. I’m sorry!

It's a great spot if you're looking to grow your own food or just enjoy a calm walk through nature. There's a section for indoor houseplants, but it's a bit limited. Most of the options are Succulent plants and hardier varieties, so if you're looking for a large variety of tropicals or more delicate indoor plants, you might not find much--though there is a separate indoor plant area that was closed off during our visit. You'll definitely notice the fertilizer smell when you walk in--not overwhelming, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive. Still, the overall atmosphere is relaxing and grounding. It's a really lovely spot to explore, especially if you enjoy gardening or just want a nature-filled reset. Heads-up for allergy sufferers: with all the plants, pollen, and earthy air, you may want to plan accordingly. We didn't directly interact with the staff, but they seemed friendly and helpful, assisting other guests as I walked by. Parking: There's plenty of side street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood, and a few spots right in front of the entrance. Their inventory is dominated by your typical cultivars of philodendrons, anthuriums, pothos, etc. Most of these plants are widely available at garden centers and other plant stores. Even the carnivorous plants and staghorn fern they had are varieties I've commonly seen elsewhere. They also carry spray painted tillandsias, a practice I dislike because it obscures the plant's natural appearance and is something I generally associate with novelty retail rather than horticulture. I visited hoping to find some unique specimens, such as uncommon orchids, metallic leaved begonias, rocklike pseudolithos, or other harder to find collector plants. Casual indoor plant owners would probably find this store adequate, but I'd recommend those looking specifically for rare or unusual plants to skip this place. Update: Soon after writing this review I got a very emotionally charged message from the owner who mentioned that my review is a "public dig" and asked "Is it your goal to damage a women owned and run small business?". It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I leave an honest respectful review (all I did was highlight who this store would be good for!) and I get a response like that. Especially ending in her saying "I hope you have a better day than I now will have". It's all very unprofessional.

I've been looking for an excuse to get a bouquet from him in this pandemic and finally stopped by for Mother's Day. He'll always ask you what your budget is when you walk in, and most people will throw out $20, which won't get you far. He recommends a minimum $30 budget. I opted for a $60 arrangement, and it was GORGEOUS. His assistant helped me handpick some flowers based on a vague description of what I wanted. I felt like I was picking flowers at random, like "ouu, that's pretty, let's go with that one," and thought I was going to end up with a god-awful bouquet, but Moe worked his magic to create a masterpiece in a matter of minutes. Mama absolutely loved her bouquet, so much that she had a whole ass photoshoot with them. They smell divine and look beautiful on her dinner table. Only the best for her. Thanks, Moe!

My bf gently touched one of the plants he wanted to purchase to fully inspect it before purchasing, but then the owner started berating us profusely. He went 0-100 & it was scary how deranged/out of control his anger quickly rose to. We genuinely apologized to him for touching the plant and for not having seen the very much faded and small sign that was hidden behind all the other plants. But alas, the owner kept going, escalating his anger, and began hurling insults at us calling us stupid even as we were on our way out. Seems like he's capable of being a decent human being to the others who have left good reviews. Based on this selective decency/kindness, I wouldn't recommend anyone to even take that gamble.
