This is THE spot for houseplants! This is a cute little place right conveniently next to Village Market with lots of parking. And while it's not huge, they have a great selection. I've tended to come here for native plants, herbs and veggies. Today, I came in to see if I couldn't find some houseplants to replace all the ones I killed. Who knew that's one of their specialties? I had very specific needs - little sun, easy to grow and cat friendly. I got such good advice from the owner. She had things organized by sections for light, water and pet-friendly and took me on a tour to point out what would work well for me. Even better, they had all sizes so I could start with little baby ones to see how they fared with my cats and in my environment. It was delightful. read more

I am on the hunt for new plants to liven up my desk space and I stumbled upon this place while I was in the area. They have an indoor and outdoor section that clearly organizes their different varieties of plants. Due to COVID restrictions, they only allow two people in the indoor plant section at a time. I stopped by an hour before they closed and they did not have a line so I was able to go right in. There were also two different entrances for the indoor and outdoor sections to help with social distancing. I only visited the indoor section, which is in a little shed-like building. They have a different variety of indoor plants as well as pots that mainly cater to modern/minimalistic styles. It almost feels like it was set up in a Pinterest like manner with plants inside pots, lining the windowsill, hanging from a prominent corner, and larger plants near doors and by counter tops to help inspire their shoppers while still making it easy to shop. The girls there were also very helpful! I will definitely be stopping by again for more house plants and to check out their outdoor plant options. read more

Great little nursery tucked in the foothills of Berkeley! Why the low stars? The staff and service was a huge hit or miss. I was in the market for a Monstera and had some questions on the Swiss Cheese Philodendron and the Deliciosa. They gave conflicting info and tried to sell me a philodendron with no holes and told me it might eventually get holes! Pricing is also significantly more expensive. If you're in this area; head over to Paraiso for houseplants. Much more reasonable pricing and way way way more knowledge!! read more

One of my favorite nurseries in the East Bay! Their plants are incredibly well cared for and very healthy. They have a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants, including a big section of cacti and succulents. Their indoor plants are all housed in one building in the center of the complex. They have cute pots and potting soil available as well. During covid, they're limiting the number of customers inside at a time. I picked up a Peace Lily and Rubber plant a few months ago and they are still thriving! The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. My friend wanted to pick up a few indoor plants, and they talked her through her best options given the amount of light in her space and level of care needed. Definitely recommend this place for new and experienced plant lovers alike! read more

The plants are well taken care of. Everything looks tidy and neat. The staff are friendly and attentive but I just can't get over the prices. A 4 inch succulent for $6 and a houseplant that was $5 more than any other place I've been to. I will probably skip this place going forward. read more

I have been going to this nursery for years. Today surprised me a bit. Today I purchased two expensive indoor pots and trays for my overgrown indoor plant which the nursery said could re-pot free of charge. I was told it would take about an hour but that they would call me when it was ready. I came back in an hour after doing some errands and the plants were not ready. The three women working were all sitting around outside and there were no other customers to be seen. I wanted to ask why but was just so nonplussed at their laissez-fare attitude. Instead of confronting them about it, I just said I'd wait for them to call me. Oh well. read more

Good COVID practices at the expense of waiting a bit in line for their indoor plant shop and having a limited time to look around (only two groups allowed at a time inside for 15 minutes, with masks on) but I don't mind. All the staff wear masks and the store is cashless. I went to buy my first houseplant and the staff member was really patient and friendly when I had a million questions. I ended up getting a 4-inch heartleaf philodendron plant for $10, but they had a lot of other options, too. There was a good amount of parking available on a Sunday afternoon. The outdoor area didn't have a line to enter, but I didn't look around there. Definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Wonderful neighborhood nursery. Wide selection of indoor and outdoor plants, and quite beautiful pottery. I went early on a Sunday at 10:00 am when they opened, to beat the crowds. I was looking for indoor plants and succulents, as during this horrific fire season we could all use extra help purifying our indoor space. The staff was helpful and friendly, and I am thrilled with the wide variety of indoor plants and small pottery I purchased. They have set up the outdoor entrances and exits to accommodate Covid spacing, as well as two party limits for indoor shopping. This is absolutely one of my favorite nurseries in Oakland. It is very cute and small, but it carries quite a number of plants. I typically only come here for houseplants, but I will be back for outdoor plants once I have an outdoor space. They have done amazing with physical distancing by opening a couple cash registers outside which makes for a quick and easy cash out.
