Last week I took a guitar amplifier into this electronics repair shop for a $45 diagnostic. A week later they said it would cost $208 to repair it which I declined. When I asked them what was wrong with it they refused to tell me saying that it's their policy not to say if the repairs are not going to be done there. After some discussion and several refusals they said the problem was with one of about six different parts but they still refused to tell me which one. I paid the $45 diagnostic fee and left still not knowing. I paid for the diagnostic and was entitled to know what part the problem was. I feel cheated because I was not told beforehand that if I didn't get it actually repaired there that they wouldn't tell me and I feel that I didn't get what I paid for and I feel cheated. read more

NEVER EVER use this place !! I warn you now.... They are crooks. I called earlier and they gave me a quote over the phone. I spent five minutes explaining exactly what needs to be done. He gave me a quote and then I called back and got somebody else and they raised the price over 60%.! I said no this is the quote that I got earlier today and he said well that's wrong ... unbelievable I have lived in the Monterey Peninsula for 25 years. Never have I ever had somebody so blatantly try to cheat me. !!!! please be warned !!! not honest people !!! I got two other quotes... for the exact same thing. Both of them were less than their original quote and of course they then attempted to add an additional 60% on top of that ... so it certainly wasn't that their first quote was low. It was fair like I said my other two quotes were less but raising it 65% is outlandish and deserves to be called unfair and they do not deserve your service !!!! read more

I had a recently purchased LG TV issue with the remote not working. I first called LG and did the troubleshooting steps with them and they mailed me a new remote. When I received that it still didn't work and they then dispatched it to Broadway TV service. Alex then called me within the next couple days and was able to come over and troubleshoot the problem with the TV. He came back a week later to replace some boards that were covered under warranty. A big help in my time of need when our oven died just before Christmas. They know more than TV's, they are familiar with other appliance circuit boards too, like the one for my oven. I had to write a review. Full disclosure: we never went inside Broadway TV service. The person who answered the phone fixed our old TV over the phone! He told us exactly what to do and it worked! He could easily have told us to bring it in (minimum 1 hour charge). But he provided excellent customer service by helping us to avoid the trip and the charges. DO NOT GO HERE. My boyfriend took his tv here to get a part screwed in. The part cost $7. They first charged him $35 non refundable deposit but not to fix it, we only found out after that that was just to get a diagnosis. We knew what the problem was. After the deposit, he was charged an extra $75 just to get the part screwed in. How is labor $75 just to screw something in? Ridiculous. Charged another deposit of $35 just to tell us the vcr is dirty and needs to be cleaned. When you get charged a deposit fee, you usually expect that to go towards the cost and for them to fix it then you pay the remaining amount. Not here, they charge you a deposit to tell you what needs to be done and it only pays for them to take a look at it. They never stated that and told us it would go towards the remaining amount. Absolutely horrible ridiculous service and a rip off. Try to figure out tv problem off youtube next time, it'll cost you less and save you the hassle. read more

Do not, I repeat do not trust this place. My father who does not speak English very well turned in his amplifier because it did not work. They supposedly fixed it. Upon hooking it up we had the same issue. They charged him $150 for replacing a diode in the amplifier because they said it was running warm. When in actuality it was the receiver that was not working. They basically charged my dad for something that did not need to be fixed. They did not diagnose problem, because they should have asked my dad to bring the receiver along with the amp to make sure they figure out the issue instead of just charging him and wHo knows if they even replaced the diode in the amp. When we confronted the owner about the issue we were really upset because he wanted to charge us extra to fix the receiver. Basically double dipping! Should have asked us to bring in the receiver and amp to diagnose the problem. My dad and I were upset and I admit my temper got the best of me because they were telling lies after lies. We confronted the owner..we were all yelling and screaming to get our points across, the owner then throws the receiver at my 85 year old dad! Horrible people! There is a younger associate that I was originally talking to, basically was lying to me in front of the owner to make himself look good. Please look elsewhere for service and I really hope they read these yelp reviews, because unfortunately I am not the only one who has issues with these scam artists. read more

Samsung setup a repair for my not so Smart TV. These folks are professional and friendly. I was quoted 3 to 5 days for my repair but two days later the job was completed. I am delighted I cant wait to be able to watch Netflix on my now Smart TV. I am waiting for the tech. To drop it off. Ill update my review to let you know how awesome my TV is. read more

If I could rate negative stars I would. After paying the initial cost for service, they called with the appointment time to complete the repair. Not only did they not show up after I had to take time off of work, but when I confronted them about it and told they to come the next morning they hung up on me. When I called back the guy called me prick. When I told him he was fired and I want my money back he told me to f*** off and said he wouldn't give it back then hung up again. He now has to deal with my bank because they have refunded me and are taking it from him. This is the worst and most unprofessional business I have EVER dealt with!!! read more

I took my sub in to get repaired and both the owner and his son gave me great customer service. Pricing was fair, atmosphere was inviting, and he kept me informed along the repair process. I have been coming to Broadway TV service for years and never have I had a complaint. They are a small family owned business always treating me and other customers I've seen with respect and positive attitudes. The first time I came to them I had a broken TV that best buy didn't want to help fix so after leaving frustrated from them Alex the owner helped me with my problem and even explained how to prevent the issue from happening again all for a reasonable cost, compared to getting it done at a place in the bay area. Awesome deals! I went into the shop and got a great deal on a 42" tv and it came with a warranty which really gives me peace of mind. I was recommended to come here by the guys at Potter's Electronics. I needed a circuit board for my wife's treadmill repaired and I was desperate because a replacement was going to be $300! I met Adrian and he said there would be a minimum charge of $75 but he thought it was fixable. Sure enough just one day later, it was done and now my wife is running on her treadmill once again! do not take any electromics here for repair. he " fixed my tv" 24 hours later was doing the exact same thing. i paid him 100 dollars. i took it back he argued with me was rude took him 6 days to fix again. he told me i break it again hes not going to fix it? he didnt fix it correctly the first time.all it needed was a new hdmi input. he obviously did not do that. he has had my tv for a total of 2 weeks for something minor and he is very hard to get a hold of. do yourself a favor and stay away from this buissness. read more

These guys are crooks. I'm writing this for my (non-computer literate) father in law. He's brought a receiver to them three times. Each time they told him it was repaired (a thunderously crackly pot) and each time it had exactly the same issue (and worse he says) when he got it home after paying them. He's much more patient than I would have been. Recently he took his Fender Deluxe in to suss out a problem with the tremelo. They had it for three months giving him the "waiting for a part" BS. Finally he just went and picked it up. I looked at it for five minutes and figured out it was a problem with bad conductivity in foot pedal switch. If they couldn't figure out how to obtain a (commonly available) switch in 3 months, they don't know shit. The worst example of a "repair shop" around. Do not take your stuff anywhere near these fools. I could do better myself, and did. Test number 1 for a non functioning tremelo would be to see if the switch is shorting the circuit properly. My guess is they put it on the shelf without even looking at it. Completely incompetent . read more
