It was sweet, fruity, high alcohol on the palate...in other words, it's garbage wine masked in a pretty building. Oh wait, no, you bastardized THAT experience with slot machines in the sitting area. And as you can see from the picture, you know the wine is rubbish because you even chose to serve it to me in picnic glasses instead of a real piece of stemware. I'm so pissed about this experience. You got your $11 from me for a shoddy glass of red, but you'll never receive my business again. This is crap folks, this is cooking fodder at best. DO NOT TRUST, DO NOT PASS GO! EDIT: I'm not done. We just hosted a birthday party for friends and family at Broken Earth. What an amazing place and experience. First, the wine is excellent! Estate grown in central coast California, this is truly a boutique wine producer worth looking into. Second, the space is quaint and built for cozy conversations and old friends catching up. The firetables outside and string lights add such a comforting atmosphere. Third, the service was impeccable. Karen and crew were amazing at keeping drinks filled, remembering everyone's wine and suggesting the next glass to build on the experience. They really made the night special for our guests. I recently found this little gem of a wine shop, and cannot say enough about it! Very cozy feel, with live music, exceptional service and a terrific selection of wines to choose from. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and warm. The live music does not overpower the room so you are able to have a conversation while enjoying the music. I really like that there are a number of different seating areas to choose from to relax and unwind. The service is top notch! Tina and Sarah are very attentive, friendly and really know the wine selections. They are always spot on with their suggestions! We held a private event at Broken Earth this past Saturday for my daughter's first birthday party and it was AMAZING. My sister in law lives nearby and had recommended we check the place out when we were looking for venues. As soon as we walked in, we knew we had found our party spot. The space is beautiful and their wine is excellent (all made in Paso Robles at their family vineyard/winery). Everyone who is associated with Broken Earth, from the family that owns it, to Karen the general manager, to the staff and bartenders make you feel like you are part of the family from the very beginning. They took great care in helping us plan the party, and were happy to offer their help in every way they could (going above and beyond in many ways). They were also very accommodating in meeting me for party planning sessions, knowing I had to drive up from the city and had two little ones to juggle around. So on many occasions they would meet me outside of business hours to accommodate my personal schedule. The party, itself, was a complete and total success. We were expecting about 70 adults and 35 kids, with the original plan of having the kids play outside to allow for more indoor space. It was 97 degrees on the day of the party and everyone came together to move furniture around and make indoor space for kid activities and the clown magician's performance. Max and Jodi and others happily arrived early to help us set up decor, food, etc. to help transform the venue from a gorgeous winery into a gorgeous baby friendly winery. Despite such a big party, the area always felt plenty spacious and no one ever felt cramped. Drinks were flowing and the staff took great care of all of our guests. I could not be happier with how the party turned out and have so much gratitude to Greg, Karen, Max, Jodi, and everyone else for welcoming us into their space. Outside of private events, the winery is an awesome place to grab a drink during the day or on a given evening. I'm so sad we live so far away other this would be a regular spot for us. But we will be sure to stop by for a delicious glass (or two) of wine whenever we are in the area! read more

A great new addition to the Long Grove nightlife. It's only open until 8pm but it's supposed to change the hours soon. It's definitely worth a look. The Wine comes from California and the bar has the California feel. You almost feel like you can look out the window and see the Vineyard. The tastings are very affordable and the wine by the glass is also very affordable. This is a great spot. Large selection of wines from their California based winery (probably 25 wines to choose from). The spot has a large selection of seating areas from the bar to various nooks on 2 floors. Great spot for small or large groups. The experience began by 2 free tasting samples per person CHHEEEYAHHH!!! From there you go to town and order 1.5, 3, or 6oz glasses or go full bottle. Live music on select evenings. Nothing knocked my socks off but defiantly some good options and a small selection of noshes. Defiantly a great addition to the area (opened 5 months ago). This is one of my most favorite places ever! I love this place! So relaxing so comfortable and the wine oh so good! My go to is PULL Cabernet Sauvignon! It's so tasty and smooth. They offer spirits, beer and of course wine. I like the fact you can go to the cooler and grab some cheese, crackers and meats they put it on a charcuterie board for you and serve it! They have so many spaces to sit and relax along with a fireplace and and an upper level. Real cozy spot and in the summer time an outdoor patio. Oh they also have music . My wife and have been meaning to try this place. We stopped in after dinner thinking we could buy a bottle as a gift and maybe have a drink. At the door a man at the bar asked in a rude tone "Do you have a reservation?" We said that we didn't. He responded in the same rude tone that there were no free tables. We asked if there was a shop and received an agitated response of "Yeah, people are sitting back there though, there's not very much" We still walked in and looked around for a minute and ultimately decided we'd rather not buy anything.The experience left a bad taste in our mouths and made us not really want to even attempt to get a reservation for another visit. I understand this person may have been busy or frustrated but they're not going to earn new customers by acting abrasive at people who have never been there and just stopped in to check out the place. I do not enjoy leaving bad reviews and specifically of places I didn't even get a proper chance to eat and drink at. I don't see any reason to give a second chance after that treatment. read more

We rented the whole venue of Broken Earth Winery for my daughter and future son-in-laws engagement party in December and were more than thrilled how the event turned out. The manager Karen, owner Greg and support staff exceeded our expectations with their attention to detail and service. They knew what each guest was drinking and made sure our guests glasses were never empty. We had 65 guests able to mingle and sit comfortably in a warm, cozy atmosphere. Lisa from Chatterbox/Joanie's Pizza provided the catering per Karen's suggestion and were also very pleased with the food. Many of our guests commented on the excellent service and delicious food. This place is awesome even though I am not a wine drinker. The owner, management and staff have created a comfortable, casual atmosphere that everyone can enjoy. Great live acoustic music, good craft beer selection if you prefer over wine. I owe them a huge thanks for accommodating our last minute group of 15 in their upstairs seating area. As promised we've been back and things are much better. The wines are still pretty decent and I've come to appreciate that they sell half glasses of wine. Still no food but they can do nifty cheese plates (though a bit pricey) and several area restaurants now deliver (make sure to give them your credit card when ordering as they don't carry Square). I may be imagining things but they seem to have high turnover for their staff. Seems like each time were there, there's someone who has only been there a few days. I still find the video slots tacky and much prefer Lynfred but this is still a good place to go if you're in Long Grove or just want to do something different. read more
