We decided to reserve a table here after watching a musical at the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre. Cooper's Hawk is right down the road from here. We arrived prior to the reservation time and had to wait 15-20 minutes but we were ok with it as we were having a good conversation while waiting. After we were seated, the server promptly gave us waters and asked if we wanted anything to drink while waiting. We ordered a caprese flatbread and for my main dish I had the baked Parmesan shrimp scampi. The shrimp appetizer was a special but it was served to our table by mistake. The server just gave it to us. The caprese flatbread was delicious as usually. I really liked the balsamic glaze. I also feel the ingredients were evenly balanced. I didn't eat any of the shrimp appetizer so I cannot comment but it looked good. The main dish I had was so good that I was intending to save half, I ended up eating it all. The White Wine sauce was delicious and the shrimp was tender and not overcooked. Overall, we had a good time and ended up staying longer due to being with good company. The server was very nice and attentive. If it wasn't for the wait for our table, I would have given a 5 star review as everything else was good. read more

I'm way late in posting this review. This is for a wine club dinner that we went to on March 15. I believe that the chef and the entire kitchen staff went above and beyond with the preparation, the quality and the attention to detail on every plate that was served to us by that staff. Michelle did an outstanding job hosting this event. I believe it was her first time and it will not be her last as she is getting her own restaurant in May. I don't drink, so I'm more a designated driver than anything else but nonalcoholic drinks that they pair with my food for me are absolutely fantastic Marlen, Lisa, and Nancy served us flawlessly! I've eaten at other Cooper's Hawk in Chicagoland so had high expectations for a great dinner for our anniversary. I had requested outdoor seating on the reservation which wasn't even acknowledged when we checked in. We did get a complimentary glass of champagne which was nice. However, our server was very distracted by the couple at the next table which as we listened (couldn't help it) were staff members there celebrating something. Therefore, with all the traffic coming to "chat" and say hi, visit for a bit, and flat out ignore us, Hubs and I finally gave up trying to talk over them and just sat there eating our food. It was a disappointment for what was supposed to be a romantic dinner. We skipped dessert and left as soon as we were done eating to get out of the staff's way of their celebration. read more

Delicious food, great service and a fantastic wine selection. Cooper's Hawk features their own wines as well as a popular selection of additional wines. We were served warm pretzel bread to start and were offered seconds! Both entrées were cooked to perfection and were served up nice and hot. We sat in the bar which had 80's tunes in the background, slightly dimmed lighting and candles on the high top tables, perfect for a casual evening for two! Nice Mothers Day meal. The prime sandwich is always a winner! Wasn't really impressed with the Asian slaw side. Came here with six people we had such a great experience. We sat in the bar area with Sofia as our Server she was amazing. She was attentive. She was kind. She really listened. I liked that she knew the wine. I was specifically looking for a taste and really wasn't giving her a lot and she came back and she knew exactly what was perfect for me. She also suggested some great food. We ate a lot and had just a really great time. Manager came by and said hello but honestly Sofia was the star of the show also the wine but you know where we're showcasing something good if you get in there she's a great Server. I have been to this Cooper Hawk location on numerous occasions. This is a very nice restaurant w/a beautiful ambiance & a good variety of delicious foods. As always my wife and I stop @ the wine bar for a tasting of Cooper Hawks wines before going to the dining room for dinner. We always ask for Susan as she has a humorous personality & a very good knowledge on the wines & always seems to offer a good selection during the tasting. Came here for a work celebration dinner. This was my first time eating at Cooper's Hawk since being diagnosed with celiac outside of wine dinners. They have a separate GF menu with lots of options. The server brought out GF bread. We ordered a pitcher of the raspberry sangria, GF burrata, lettuce wraps and brussel sprouts to share. Everything was delicious! I have visited this location many times over the years as a lot of people really enjoy it. Ambiance: The pluses are an enjoyable ambiance. Upscale causal atmosphere. Relaxing to chat & relax. Food: Standouts were the Drunken Shrimp appetizer. Bacon wrapped with tequila lime butter sauce & fresh guacamole. Very fresh & juicy start to a meal but only 6 large shrimps. Bread was warm & fresh out of the oven. I think it was a pretzel style bread. Scallop Gratin was super delicious, a large serving & a chef recommend item on their menu. Pretzel Crusted Pork Chop today was just ok tasting but previously the best pork chop I had on past visits. The Pistachio Crusted Grouper & Parmesan Crusted Fillet Medallions were alright. Drink: Enjoyed the "Bubbles" flight. Cooper's Hawk Lux Sparkling & Almond Sparkling were my favorites. Parking: This place gets busy & the lot is very small. Allow extra time on the weekends. Service: I've always had excellent service in the many times I've been here. Once, last yr, something needed to be rectified & the female manager was so apologetic, super nice & professional. Today, service was great too. Efficient is how I would describe it. Reservations: Make one. This is a popular place that gets packed on the weekends. For real this place was all great until the end ( otherwise I would have left a better review) My husband had been wanting to come here for a while and we finally did. First impression walking in was nice, it looks like a fun place to go with the little retail and tasting room. The host was super nice ( Michelle I believe is her name) The waitress was a bit off but she was fine too The nice touch is they give you samples before you decide on which wine you want. Appetizers were good specially the drunken shrimps AMAZING! Entrees were also delicious and dessert not so much. The waitress offered me a sample of their special wine of the month and I liked it. I ordered a glass of it So ALL great up to here. We paid and on our way out we checked the little retail place they have and I see the bottle of the wine I had just had, grabbed it, waited for the person to check out to only find out that you can't buy it unless you sign up for their wine program and commit to at least 1 bottle per month, so this was a big no for us. They should have a price for members and a more expensive option for non members so not sure how fun can be to have their own wines but limit the sales. Idk if it's just me but this was the worst way to end our delicious experience here. Is also wanted to buy a gift card for my parents for the wine tasting but at this point I'm not even sure if I can even do that or if it's also only for members read more

The food is delicious. I got the Parmesan Crusted Mahi and it was just so so good every bite. Also the wine is always good. It was a busy dinner time and the service could have been better. Our server didn't come by often or offer any drink refills. Best to go during less busy times. We had a 7pm reservation. read more

Susan is my favorite at the wine bar, have not seen her as much recently- she helped me and my cousin sign up for wine memberships, great deal if you like wine. Went to the May Cooper's Hawk Wine Club dinner and the atmosphere, service and food were fantastic. Everything was set up for a great evening from the beginning, where you are welcomed with a unique cocktail from one of the servers (Marlen or Jamie) who were extremely attentive and helpful to your any need. The manager (Eric Fox) brings about a friendly camaraderie by sitting down with each table and interacting with the guests in between sharing the information on the various wines that are being served as well as their pairing with the food. Chef Jose made sure the meal was flavorful and that each course was presented as an individual dish to match the wines and cocktails which were served. Overall, an excellent evening at an establishment where the staff are extremely friendly, kind, and interactive with their guests. read more

Cooper's Hawk holds a special place in my heart as we had our rehearsal dinner here and had an incredible time. We've come back for a few anniversaries now and the service has been a hit or miss. More often than not we're sat in the main part of the restaurant where we feel like we get incredible service and things come out in a timely manner. Our most recent visit, we were seated at the bar, despite having a reservation. Which was totally fine. Our waiter greeted us and asked us what wine we wanted as we were sitting down, and we asked for a few minutes and for water to start. We ended up grabbing a bottle of bubbly because we were celebrating and ordered our food. The appetizers came out shortly after when we asked for bread and water again. Then we got our wine. He brought our wine out and our entrees came out shortly after. I was still hoping to get bread and water we asked for a third time and he said he would go get it and actually disappeared. Once we finished our entrees and the bottle of wine we were brought the bread and water and were given the dessert menu. This experience felt rather odd. But we shrugged it off. Our food was still great. I got the chicken piccata and it was full of flavor, the pasta was cooked perfectly. My husband got the short rib, and it was super tender and was delicious. For dessert we were recommended the mochi pineapple upside down cake, which wasn't quite our favorite but a unique taste over all. We've been dining at Cooper's Hawk for over 12 years and have always loved the food and overall experience. Unfortunately, this visit fell short due to service. Our server skipped asking my 12-year-old for his drink order, brought things however showed little engagement, and dropped off the check without saying much,which made the experience uncomfortable. I got the prime rib grilled cheese sandwich and tomatoes soup which was off their specialty lunch menu that day. It was definitely an elevated grilled cheese sandwich. Bloody Mary with a beer side car was delicious and the calamari, sweet and crunchy. One of my favorite item at Cooper's Hawk. Nicely appointed restaurant. Clean and bar area was nice. Arrived for dinner on a not too busy night. Were greeted and quickly seated. From there, everything went downhill, quickly. Our server arrived at the table with an attitude. He was irritated immediately and short with our party of four. After drinks arrived we ordered appetizers and they came out quickly. The salads were good! The entrees arrived and most of the food was cold. Steaks were over-cooked. Unfortunately this restaurant would never know, because by this point, the server had basically abandoned us. Between every point of the meal, we had to wait, wait , wait. I have no clue where this server was, but he basically ghosted us. When we tried to close out our tab and pay the bill, he was visibly upset when we asked him for four separate checks. We waited approximately 45 minutes just to get our bills to pay. I'm sure if we had a different server, things may have been better, but this guy should not be in the service industry with such a bad attitude. This place: Disappointing. read more

I haven't been to a Cooper's Hawk in years and I have not been to this location. So although I didn't expect much, our dining experience exceeded my expectations--classy ambience, friendly and knowledgeable staff, varied menu with many dietary options, and an overall nice time. The parking lot was almost completely full when we arrived. We had reservations and were seated immediately. We were directed to the back by the window (Don't put baby in the corner) but this worked out fine because the noise level was pretty loud. Our server, Heather, was very friendly, high energy, and made us feel welcome. I ordered a citrus sangria and my friend ordered a glass of wine. I appreciated that Heather informed us about the wine program but did not press it. This is appreciated because it kept us at ease. We have an appreciation for wine but did not want to be a part of a program. We ordered the crispy rice with tuna, which was nicely browned and crisp with tasty tuna tartare. We also enjoyed the Brussels sprouts which had a nice slightly sweet, slightly spicy flavor. We enjoyed the warm loaf of pretzel bread with butter. One friend ordered the chicken francese which was nicely carmelized, very tender, and in a decadent lemon brown butter sauce. Another ordered the tenderloin medallions off the Life Balance (300-700 calories) and thought the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. I had the flatbread and salad combo, Italian sausage and whipped burrata and a chopped wedge salad. The salad was green, crisp and fresh -- I love a wedge and the fact that it was chopped -- (chef's kiss)! The flatbread and loaded with sausage, dollops of burrata-- very tasty! We were eyeing the Banofee pie -- but couldn't eat a single bite more. It sounds amazing though and I will order it next time. I liked that the menu had many options -- the Life Balance menu, vegetarian entrees, lunch-sized options, salads, and so many tempting desserts. Of course the extensive wine selections..,. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The bar area started to get crowded around 4pm. I tried a couple white wines and enjoyed them both. The warm pretzel bread was good but a little plain tasting (some salt or salted butter would make it better). I enjoyed the lobster and shrimp bisque a lot. The chopped wedge salad was just ok. Food is okay. I think sometimes when a chef is a little less talented or trained, they use more salt in their food, and I found that to be true here. I would definitely give it another try, but there are so many great steak places that I would say it's not worth it to go back. I know people love the Wine program, but I think their wine is mediocre at best and I wouldn't want to be part of a program where I didn't have one wine I tasted that I thought was great. I really felt like everything was mediocre to not drinkable. I love wine and was hopeful, but did a taste test and there was not one wine on the menu that I felt was drinkable. Usually when that happens, I'll try the sparkling wine because it's way harder to screw that one up, but even that was too sweet and had a weird flavor that almost reminded me of cough syrup. maybe things have changed and they're having a better year at their vineyards, but for the money I would choose another restaurant that does a great wine service. I celebrated a birthday at this location today. I was treated with special care and attention by the two Erics (Fox and Hanson) and staff. It made for a special day. They even created a special meal for me and my guest, which definitely made us feel special. The special birthday decorations were a nice touch; made for great ambiance. The managers definitely went above and beyond to make this a special occasion. Food was excellent. Wine was plenty and wonderful. My go to is the Trio of Medallions, and my husband recently tried the baked Parmesan shrimp scampi and he really liked it. For appetizer, the sweet chili calamari and the Thai lettuce wraps are very good. We had Thai lettuce straps, buttermilk chicken, and the Aji tuna, and the calamari that they brought back. I think I prefer without the chili sauce. Sara who I think is one of the managers came over to our table several times to make sure everything was satisfactory. We commented to her that we truly appreciated that she wanted us to have a great dining experience, and because of her and Juan we did. Also, the food was great as always and the suggestions they made for desserts were very good. We go to Cooper's Hawk frequently and the food and service are always good.
