Me and the bro-hams decided to take a flier last week for lunch and try out this newer place posted up in an obscure shopping center located on Kempsville. It's Chesapeake's newest take on an already "overstuffed" taco scene, how different could it be? So as I walked in with reservations without a reservation, surprisingly, I was met with a fresh and vibrant mood. Not the typical cheap looking, dingy, and grimy trappings that you are accustomed to seeing in your run of the mill Mexican establishments. This one had high ceilings, sandy brown pueblo looking tiles and nicely crafted wood tables to complete the feel that you are dining in an old Spanish fort in New Mexico. So far so good... Our waiter was this good looking kid that probably looked like Rey Meysterio Jr. had that dude ever taken his mask off. Extremely friendly and super-efficient. He quickly dispatched the daily specials, took our drink orders, dropped off the standard issue chips and salsa and handed us our menus. After a quick review, you could see that it didn't depart from the quintessential menus that you inevitably see at all the other mexican restaurants listing the mind blowing infinite amalgamations of the different types of tortillas, proteins, cheese and cheese sauces. I decided to go with a burrito with spinach that tasted average at best. The flavors were decent, my chicken was a tad dry, and the fact that I finished seemingly too quickly didn't tickle my fancy. Mi hermano went with a mole' dish that I couldn't even pronounce that was a little too sweet for his palate. Overall, not the best thing we've ever eaten, but not even close to being the worse either. There has been some good things on review sites regarding this newest entrant into the mexican food scene in Chesapeake. Honestly, I can see what the fuss is about. The food is good. I love the chips and the salsa bar. The tacos are delicious and so is the guacamole. My only issue with this place is the service. It's quite busy most of the time and can take way too long to get a drink or food. I also ordered a spicy margarita once and I got a look like wtf is that. They made it but the waiter was confused. This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant in town. Everything I have tried is delicious. My favorite dish here is the Super Bronco. I truly recommend that to anyone. The margaritas are to die for. Really enjoyed this place! The service was on point and the waiter had a sense of humor which was nice. The meal was was hot and delivered just as ordered. Enchiladas were delicious and the salsa bar was definitely an added bonus! My Diet Coke never went low which is important and the server checked back several times to ensure we were taken care of the entire time. The bronco special was amazing and the wait staff was excellent if you like tequila the you should look at their drink menu they even have mezcal but it's not on the menu you would have to order that shot by name it's a little pricey but worth it if you like tequila. read more

Stumbled across this hidden gem while in the area. Truly a pleasure eating here. Had the burrito Del Mar delicious and the horchata was really good. They serve you chips and you go to the bar and chose your salsa and the white sauce is actually pretty good compared to other mexican restaurants I've eaten at but I prefer queso. Just left this place, and could hardly wait to leave a review. We attend the dance studio a few doors down and debated on where to go for dinner. We often debate and end up going home. Thank god tonight we decided to try Bronco. We walked in about 5:20. There was probably only 2 other tables in there at the time. It seemed like by 5:45/6:00 it was filling up. When you walk in you realize how big the restaurant actually is. We sat down and the first thing I noticed was fresh home made chips brought to the table. They let us know there was a salsa bar. I believe there was maybe 6 different Salsas. The white was my favorite but there were all amazing (something for everyone, some very hot some not hot at all) My husband and I ordered drinks... I got a homemade white sangria and my husband got a corona margarita. The sangria was incredible, I got a jumbo which was 9.99, it was ALOT. It was one of the best, if not the best sangria I've ever had, and a jumbo was more than enough for me. There was an appropriate amount of alcohol, you get more than what you pay for in my opinion (which is always good when it comes to drinks). My husbands drink was great too! This is a great place to come to enjoy some drinks, since we had our kids with us, we just tried one drink. On to the food; we both got the burrito Del Mar. which has a bunch of seafood as well as rice and veggies. We added the white cheese sauce on top which doesn't usually come with it. There was scallops, shrimp, and crab meat. Full sized shrimp... big scallops... and shredded crab meat through out the whole thing. Every bite had seafood in it. You could taste each individual flavor. This burrito was huge, so filling, and truly delicious. My kids both ordered from the kids menu and ate everything they were giving. Every person that worked there personally either waved or smiled at us or our children, they were so personable and nice. They made the experience even better. Just to add; we watched a waiter make the gauc fresh for the table behind us. While we didn't order it... it looked amazing and I will be trying it next time! All in all, this place is an 10 out of 10. I'm so glad we stopped in. We are mad that we have been coming to dance and NOT having dinner here. This will be a once a week visit for us. AMAZING ! Legitimately the Best Mexican Food in Chesapeake. Hands down, and they don't serve that weird white sauce the other places serve.

We love this place! We go at least three times a month. The manager Juan and his wife always make sure we are always happy. We celebrate birthdays, have crazy fun happy hours, and enjoy the BEST Texas margarita ever, and I've had margaritas from Texas and Mexico and they win! It's the only place I'll drink 'em. Food is delicious and great portions - I always share with someone. If you don't like carbs the guaco tacos are for you! Lettuce wrapped tacos. read more

I'm sad to say that I may have to stop going here. The food isn't bad really. It's the horrible service! Every time I go I feel ignored. I always at least once during my meal have had to get up and find a server. They just don't seem to care. There's one older gentleman that is there sometimes, he's the most attentive. I came in today to place a to go order before I went to work in the shopping center. I was greeted immediately and given the menu to browse. I decided to order the Lunch Special 20, which is a quesadilla stuffed with your choice of beef, chicken or mushroom; I went with chicken. My order came out promptly and I was also given some chips with salsa & white sauce to go with it. I got to work and noticed what looked like a mushroom poking out of the quesadilla, I opened it up and my quesadilla indeed was stuffed with mushrooms. I double checked the receipt on the bag and it said quesadilla pollo (chicken). Fortunately, I like mushroom and had not eaten all day, so I ate it anyways. It was good, but I would have much rather enjoyed the chicken like I had ordered. The pricing was fair, so I probably will return again (just hopefully will receive what I order!) read more

My wife and i went for lunch and we have definitely found our favorite mexican restaurant. This restaurant is unbelievably clean and the staff are awesome. My wife got pollo parrilla, she loved it. Of the four Mexican restaurants that I've been to in Virginia, this had the best quality of food for price. The environment was friendly, the music wasn't too loud, and it looked like they had a great tequila selection even though I did not drink. I had the fajitas and it was more than enough food for a big eater. Definitely recommend! read more

3rd and final update for this place. When it first opened, this place started of strong! Delicious food. Generous portions. Tasty margaritas.
