Bronco's Burgers is exactly what a proper smash burger should be. These things are thin, crispy, messy in the best way, and packed with flavor in every bite. They nail that golden edge-crisp that only a real smash burger delivers. Honestly, the definition of "smash burger" should just be a picture of Bronco's. And the sides? They're just as impressive. Their thick-cut fries shocked me -- I'm usually not a thick-cut fry fan because they tend to come out soft or smushy. Not here. Bronco's fries are fried to perfection: crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seriously addictive. Their onion rings are also excellent. Light, crunchy, flavorful, and not soggy or heavy like so many places make them. It's one of those spots where the burger is fantastic, but somehow the sides keep up. Plus, the tacos, burritos, and cheese dip are all standouts. The chips that come with the dip are fresh and crunchy, and that combo is dangerous in the best way. Inside looks small at first glance, but there's an extra dining room in the back with more seating. Just know it can get busy -- I've been there when it was chill, and I've also been there when it was packed to the point I had to sit outside. Parking in the front is tight, but there's additional parking in the back (marked by a sign). The staff is extremely friendly, and even though they only opened earlier this summer, they've already become one of my go-to mountain ride stops with the crew. Great food in the perfect location. My only wish? A Coca-Cola fountain. They do have cans, so I always grab a Coke Zero to complete the meal, but a fountain machine would take things to another level. Bronco's is an easy recommendation. If you want a real smash burger -- plus great fries and onion rings -- this is the spot. read more

Update to my review nowbthat they have been open for sometime. The only changes I saw were they moved the "bus your own table" area out into the "main room" area. Still drinks by the can. And unfortunately my bun was burnt. It looks like it might be intentional as a liok, but it still tasted burnt. I really wanted this to be a nice local place I could grab a burger, just not particularly good. read more

Smash burger was delicious!!! Service was quick even though they were very busy. Cant wait to go back and try other menu options!

First, the bad. There is an undisclosed 3% credit card surcharge that doesn't appear until the last screen before you pay. No mention on their menu or at the door, nor did the cashier make me aware. They charge this on a debit or credit, which is against GA Law. Now the good. You place your order at the counter and are given a number. A runner brings it out to you. The burgers were great and made to order. Nice sear on the smashed meat. My wife thoroughly enjoyed hers and they put lots of extra onions on mine, just as requested. I had ordered 2 fries but noticed later they weren't on my receipt. Cashier was a bit distracted, so maybe a little more attention to detail, like repeating the order before totalling. If there were no CC surcharge (or it was disclosed beforehand) and a little more attention paid to the customer when ordering it would be a 5/5. read more

"That was the best burger I've ever had" said my wife about Broncos American classic smash burger, several bites before I finished my burger. I'm sure if you looked up 'smash burger' in the dictionary Broncos would be pictured. I hesitate to give a good review for fear of the place getting overcrowded, but their burgers are amazing. Fresh ingredients, fast service and a price barely more than McDonalds, if you like burgers you have to give them a try. Combined with Broncos onion rings it was an experience bordering on Nirvana. Broncos is the source for the best burger in Hiawassee, a town with some pretty good burgers overall. read more

Quick spot with tasty food. They have a few tables, but seems more like take out. You order at counter & they give you a number & bring to you. I had nachos they had beans, queso, cilantro cream yummy Pico de gallo. Serving was more than enough for 1. Husband had smash burgers with BBQ sauce & bacon. He said it was very good. Hands down the best burger in town. I've eaten here 3 or 4 times, and while I know they have other things on the menu, I just cannot resist their burgers! It's rare to find a place that consistently has amazing burgers yet here is a place that keeps hitting that goal every time. I also really enjoy the fries, and normally I can take or leave fries, I never eat many wherever I go, but there's something that causes these to be deceptively tasty, I'm not sure of the seasoning on them, but they are delish. The only I complaint I have, and it's not really a big thing, but the lack of drink options. I'm sorry, but I really dislike when restaurants only have a cans of soda, rather than having either a soda machine, or even bottles of soda. Again, this is a small thing, especially when the food has always been excellent. read more

The crust on the smash burgers is some of the best ever! That umami pop makes all the specialty burgers work. Mine had jalapeño cream cheese as a perfect foil to those earthy patties. Great addition to Haiwassee and the second local restaurant for the ownership (Nocturnal in Hayesville). This is a casual place that you order up front, pay, take a number and food is delivered to you. We went in around noon on a Tuesday and the place was slammed. Only seating avail was at the bar, where u can watch food prep. Our food came out within 10 mins even with the "rush". I ordered the smash burger and wife had nachos. Both were very good. The smash burger came on a Martins bun (excellent), and edges were properly crispy. Both patties hung over edges of bun and had ample cheese between them. I ordered the basic burger which comes with cheese, their house sauce (thousand island with some sriracha), grilled onions and a few pickles. Overall excellent burger (and only 10$). Wife's nachos were well dressed and tasted quite fresh (house-made chips). Beans, cheese, creama, salsa, japs on nachos were messy and good. We will def be back to try bbq and burritos/bowls. Only downside is no beer and few drink options. Hey Mike - u gotta have sweet tea option. Great place and nice addition to a town that lacks quality options. read more

Fast, friendly service! We visited on a Friday at 6:30 pm. Ordering was quick and easy. Our food came out a short time later. The outside seating was a nice way to enjoy the mountain air. The smash burger was great, they toasted the bun which makes it all the more perfect. When you go in you order your food and then they bring it to you when it is ready. It was fresh and hot. I think it's a nice addition to downtown Hiawassee. read more

They make a very good pulled pork sandwich at a reasonable price, definitely worth a stop if you're in Hiawassee.

Local resident here. Get into Broncos and try it before it closes. This place is fast food order at the register served on a cookie sheet with plastic and paper complete with sit down service prices. The flavors are good, but the prices and ambiance leave everything to be desired. The $13 burrito? It doesn't come with a side. It's just a burrito. Tasty, but way over priced. The chips and salsa for $5 turned out to be 10 chips and a 1/4 cup of salsa. That's 50 cents a chip! Oh, and the drink case up front and the water station hidden in back was a disappointment too. $3 for a bottled water when there's free water offered and the cashier said nothing about the water station. But she did take time to clean the tables using the rag bucket stored on a shelf behind the service counter above the plastic ware and condiments. Make sure you check your utensils and condiments to be sure they're fresh and dry. I don't expect this place to make it through the end of the year before it goes the way of the coffee shop before it. read more
