If it's broke then fix it! Yes fix it. It will save you a lot of money. My Oreck was suddenly b really hard to push and it just wasn't picking up as it should. I thought probably needed a new belt. So I took it into Brookfield vacuum on Capitol and Calhoun. As it turned out I needed a new roller bar. My vac was fix within 2 days. Aside from diagnosing the issue and replacing my roller bar they also gave my vac a good look over, cleaned it up and replaced the bag. All this for $60 bucks parts and labor. What a deal! A new Oreck vac (similar to the one I have) would cost me Between $400-$600! Ya- I'll pay $60 to have it fixed:) my old vac works as good as new! Be prepared when you drop off your vac to pay $40 to have it looked at BUT- that $40 is deducted from the total bill in the end. I highly recommend Brookfield Vaccuum. With everything being so expensive now days why wouldn't you try to Roz something. Also besides fixing any and all Makes of vacs, they also sell some very nice higher end vacs. read more

As a business owner, I rarely write poor reviews because I know how harmful they can be, but I wanted to tell you about the way I was treated today. (I know this is a family business and the person I'm referring to is a relative.) I went in with my Miele vacuum because it wouldn't start. A little over a month ago, you were kind enough to fix the bag holder free of charge. I appreciated that. At the time I dropped it off, the very same employee treated me with such disdain and UGLY judgement over the condition of debris and dirt inside the canister, that it gave me pause. I replied to her scolding by saying-"I'm here so you can help me-please fix this so I no longer have this issue. I didn't come in to be lectured, but for your business to solve a problem." After all, isn't that the POINT OF A SERVICE BUSINESS-to help and solve? I thought at that time she could use some client service skills coaching, but thought I best shut up or my vacuum wouldn't be repaired. So, I dropped it off and didn't see her again, until today. Really not the kind of experience you want to provide for a customer. Fast forward to yesterday. My vacuum wouldn't start. The bag was intact and clean of debris and dirt inside. She smelled something, and that something smelled like poop. She accused me of coming into the shop with a poop filled vacuum cleaner. I no more would be vacuuming poop than I would be eating it!!! As it progressed, another scolding came, this time in the form of your bodily fluid signs by the service desk-which she berated me, several times. I understand health issues. What she didn't realize is, that was not poop-it was organic vegetable fertilizer that had been picked up when a bag dropped open and spilled. Yes, it did stink, but no, it was not dog poop. Needless to say, I panicked-I need a working vacuum and somehow tried to reason with her---no such hope. Once again, her tirade of rules and diminishing me as a customer prevailed. Nicely said, someone needs to come in and coach her on how to treat clients with respect. How much easier it would have been if she had said..."I'm sorry XXXXX (she took down my name, so she knew it) but I smell poop...could there be a chance of that? Did something happen that you may have vacuumed poop.....followed by...I'm terribly sorry, but I can't expose my tech to anything which may be harmful. I wish we could help, but sadly, it's just unsafe for us." I treat others as I wish to be treated. This individual doesn't. Plain and simple. You have a liability in your store, and she walks on two legs. Will never be back and will let others know my feelings on the matter. I hope, for your business sake, that you get her the coaching she needs. read more

We have never been treated so rudely. We were shocked and taken aback as the woman who says she is the "owner" used profanity and asked us to leave the store. She was contentious right away. We have read other reviews and this seems to be a behavior that others have also experienced. To say the least this was a very upsetting experience and no customer deserves to be treated in this way. The folks at this place fixed our vacuum cleaner quickly and politely. They also explained what probably happened and how to avoid the problem again in the future. They wore masks appropriate to our Covid situation. I feel this was a great service and the price was right. I took my Riccor vacuum in for cleaning and service about 12 days ago. It had been broken for about 2 weeks . And so I bought a second floor model Riccor while there because our floors and rugs were dirty, from a Newfoundland dog, 2 young new puppies who bring in sticks from outside and chew, living on the edge of town with fields and grasses, and family visiting with their dogs. I have had Riccor vacuums for 13 years. They are great for pets and many rugs. the one I bought ,the day I brought our vacuum, stopped working after about 15 to 20 minutes. When I called this store the woman immediately offered to void the purchase and I returned the vacuum to the store, which is 18 miles away. I was thankful. Today when I picked up our old vacuum, she had a bag of dirt from the returned vacuum I used on our dirty floors . She showed me this dirt with little pieces of sticks from the puppies and started yelling and screaming at me that I was as dirty f------ b----. Many times. and told me never to return to the store. She will show you the bag of dirt. This is why I bought the new floor model-to vacuum the dirt that had gathered because we couldn't vacuum twice a week with our broken vacuum. She repeatedly called me a dirty f------ b----. It's a vacuum store. I've been a customer since 2016. There is a problem in customer care here. read more

Bought my vacuum here had a great experience. The guy who sold it to me was very knowledgeable and gave me a very generous discount on a quality vacuum. I recommended them immediately to family and friends. A year later, I took the vacuum in for service. We moved on the other side of town waiting for our home to be built during this time. When I went to pick it up, they were closed many times. Their hours of operation had also been less than ideal with the move and working far away at a 9-5 (if not later) demanding job. On top of that, their Covid19 hours were wrong on their voicemail system and once again I showed up and they were closed. Little did I know, after showing up today 4/18/20 to pick it up, they told me they threw out my $400 vacuum because "that's what it says" on my claim check. Apparently after 30 days they get rid of them (probably resell them). Did they ever mention this to me when I dropped it off? No. Did they mention this to me on the phone the handful of times I spoke with them about picking it up? No. I told the lady it was a perfectly good working vacuum they just did some work on for me, and they just throw it out? She berated me on the length of time it took for me to show up and said no one needed to reach out to me and let me know they would get rid of it and it's not her problem. She also wouldn't say where it was when I asked. It's HIGHLY likely they resold it given they take in used vacuums and this vacuum was no more than a year old. I told them how I had recommended them and couldn't believe they actually just threw it out. All she cared about was herself and kept saying "don't you understand where I'm coming from?" And never acknowledged I was a customer and out a $400 vacuum. Her voice got louder and louder. I asked her why she was being hostile and she said she wasn't and then started yelling at me. I then asked her why are you yelling? You're going to really yell at a customer? Then she got louder and louder. I remained calm and said I would never come back and will be letting family and friend know about this experience and the way she treated me. Then, all of a sudden... I still can't believe this... she started getting hostile and SCREAMING the top of her lungs. "BYE BYE, BYE BYE, BYE BYE, BYE" and started swearing as I walked out. Unbelievable experience. She should be ashamed and embarrassed, and FIRED. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. I feel dirty and completely disrespected. read more

I understand why previous writers have had issues with this business. I generally like to support local businesses like Brookfield Vacuum Cleaners. I called ahead regarding a vacuum part and they said I would need to stop in with the old part to determine if they had the correct part. Once I got there, I was promptly greeted and the wife / proprietor greeted me promptly and went in back to look for the part. During the 4-5 minutes she was looking for it, her husband was extolling all the virtues of the new line of Riccar vacuums. Not hard sell but planted a seed. The wife/proprietor came back and declared that she found the part and was glad to be getting it out of their inventory. When I questioned the price as being much much higher than the same part over the internet (+25% higher) she pulled the part away and made a snotty comment about how I should then support the internet and turned around. I stood there flabbergasted for a couple of seconds. I then turned around and left the store never to return again. read more

I called about a belt for my Hoover Wind tunnel vacuum cleaner and they said that that part # has been on back order for two months. Then the woman told me that my cleaner is filthy because it is bag less, She then proceeded to try to sell me one of their vacuums without stating a price. If you are looking for a Dyson repair stay far away. Although the employees are friendly and informative, they have a strong bias against Dyson. When I came to get an estimate on how much it was going to cost to repair my Dyson I didn't leave with a repair estimate, instead I left with a 30 minute speech on how bad Dysons were and how amazing all of the 30 Mieles within the store were. Unfortunately I had to give this place a 2 star because they didn't do what I requested (which was a repair estimate) and it really seemed like they were looking for me to buy a Miele so they could make an extra few bucks. Update: the dyson was not damaged in anyway (unlike what the sales man told us). After giving the vacuum over to dyson they took it apart and found a mattress tag clogging the pipes. read more

This is a wonderful, family owned business that combines expert knowledge with wonderful customer service! They provide quality products (American made!) and offer expert repairs. After a recent visit, I believe their motto is "the customer is always right"; which is something that is NOT the case with the plethora of big box stores. Ripped us off. Charged $25 to put plastic cover back on our vacuum when the problem was that the latch to hold the vacuum upright wasn't latching. They not only didn't fix the latch, now the vacuum light also doesn't work. The woman argued with me saying we never asked to have the latch fixed. All they did was put the five screws back in which I had taken off to show them the latch. $25 for nothing. read more

There is a woman that works there, I think she might be the owner. Not a good business for her personality. She should not be interacting with any customers. We called for a quote on our vacuum repair and she said you have to bring it in for them to quote on it. We drove all the way to the store and were told the quote would cost us $40. She would not quote it without the $40. Then she proceeded to say "we are sick and tired of giving free information to YOU people....she said for us to take our Miele back to the big box store." All we wanted was a repair quote, not HOW to fix it. If she could have easily have told us before we drove all the way out there there was a $40 fee and if we did not buy it at their store, they don't want to fix it. I live in Milwaukee but went there for vacuum bags as they are one of the only Miele dealers in the area. Friendly service and same price as what I found on Amazon. I do not have Prime so by going there I avoided paying for shipping and supported a small business. Will definitely go there again. read more
