Our experience with Brookfield flooring was nothing short of Amazing! Scott did an excellent job on our 108 year old Maple floors! We wanted to save the floors and restore the house to its original look. We weren't sure of what the outcome would be but Scott took on the challenge and delivered the most beautiful floors. Prior to the project there was two layers of vinyl tiles and a sub floor. The sub floor has been glued and nailed to the original maple floors! There was also concrete from a prior closet! I have a rental apt that needed the kitchen floor to be refinished. It had been about 20 years since last work done. I called and got estimates from several companies. Some tried to up sell me, some talked about how difficult, and therefore more cost, some had scheduling issues and I had a rental time to meet. Then I discovered Scott at Bkfd Wood Floor, called and talked to him. I was very pleasantly surprised to realize when he came to give me an estimate that I recognized him. He had done some work for me many years back when I lived in Westchester. I hired him to refinish the floor. He showed up on time, got job set up, and did work with minimal dust and intrusion. In fact he partitioned the kitchen off, so they worked in kitchen, while I painted in living room, saving me time. Nice job Scott! Did a great job, gave me great price. I hired Scott to come and do my floors throughout the entire first floor. The first half of the job went perfectly. Scott was there and everything went well. The second half of the job was not so good. Scott was not in town so he had his crew there unsupervised. They opened the doors to my back porch and my bathroom, which I asked them to keep closed, and there was a thick layer of dust everywhere. They splashed stain on my wall and didn't clean it up until I asked them. They missed entire spots with the polyurethane and I had to call them back to fix it. They left a foot print in the polyurethane and when I called and asked them to come back again, Scott was dismissive and I never heard back from him again. I will never recommend them to anyone and I'll never call them back. read more

We used Brookfield Wood Floor Refinishing to refinish(sand, stain, etc) all the hardwood floors in our newly purchased house. Scott and his guys did a great job, the floors are perfect. Scott came in with a fair price and finished the job before his original estimate. He called to update us as things progressed each step of the way as we needed it finished before moving into the house. They were careful with the walls cleaning a splash or two, careful with removing and adding back the trim where needed, and leaving the house in great condition. After a quick glance at this page and a bunch of five star reviews I took a shot. Instead I should have heeded Jeff O's warning. The word "dismissive" was spot on. Scott offered a reasonable estimate. I accepted and asked when he could begin. After some rude remarks about my family, he complained about having to move furniture (are we the only people in the world with furniture?) and abruptly changed his mind. Somewhat taken aback, I asked if I should find someone else. His terse text reply: "Yes." Not "Yes. Sorry about that." Or "Yes. But I can recommend someone else." Years ago, I hired him to patch and refinish floors in a home I had bought and he did an excellent job. So when I moved to another home in the area I hired him to put in hardwood floors in several rooms and to refinish stairs, He did a fantastic job once again.
