Brattle Square bagel
Della S.

I'm usually wary of bagel spots because I hate the disappointment of paying over $10 to get a bagel sandwich that barely has any fillings. Thankfully Brooklyn Bagel Factory does not disappoint! Their bagel sandwich fillings are as thick as the bagel itself. I decided to try the Brattle Square ($11.99) which came with a thick spread of cream cheese on both halves, lox, capers, tomato, cucumbers, red onion, and alfalfa sprouts. The sandwich was so hefty that it could easily be split between two people. I loved how the bagel was dense and chewy with a nice bready flavor. The fillings were fresh and the lox portion was generous!

I remember first seeing the signage for this place months ago and being excited to try it, glad I could finally stop by! We came here on a Sunday for lunch and the space was still decently busy. There was a line waiting for food and a small one for ordering, but we got our food pretty quickly nonetheless and managed to grab a table inside as well. The menu is pretty extensive and it was a bit difficult to choose what I wanted, but I settled on one of their smoked fish creations on an everything bagel. I found the bagel itself to be pretty good, but not super standoutish. The spread and filling of the sandwich was filling and I was definitely stuffed by the end. The mix of flavors with arugula and the smoked salmon itself was pretty delicious. I would say that they could've cut the sandwich in half - it was super messy to eat and started falling apart by the end. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. A little pricy, but a decent bagel spot nonetheless - I would be willing to come back to try some of their other sandwiches and maybe a drink next time as well!

Food is amazing, location is perfect if you're in Cambridge and want another breakfast option besides certain coffee shops. The negative reviews are wild; yes the shop gets overwhelmed if you go on a weekend morning. Not sure why more people don't just order ahead and pick up! I will always recommend this place. Stop in and try for yourself. Bonus: vegan and vegetarian options galore!!!!

The bagels were fresh and delicious, but they were having major technical difficulties (espresso machine and card reader) the day I went so they were a bit overwhelmed. Had a great vegan selection!

Went during opening week! I love the owner and a big fan of his other restaurants. There is a huge variety of sandwiches so you can find anything you like here. The coffee is spectacular and they have a fabulous machine. Service was incredible and as there were a few startup issues, the owner was kindly understanding of any feedback and took it with stride while catering to the needs of his customers! Would come back here to support him. Also the bagels are fire, we come weekly to grab it and jalapeño spread to eat through the week.

Drove all the way from Lynn and it was way worth the drive. Bagels were excellent and all ingredients were fresh and tasty. I'll definitely be back!

This is their #9 Salmon, cream cheese, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, purple onion , capers on a plain bagel.

The food is incredible! Everything is made fresh. The bagel sandwiches are so hardy they are big enough for 2 people. (but you probably won't want to share your sandwich). Have you ever eaten something so good that when you are finished eating it you're mad cause it's all gone? Well that how I feel about their sandwiches. They offer lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well. And the PIZZA'S oh my gosh, and the tater tots- AMAZING!!! Especially the Truffle Parmesan tots Their menu is extensive which means the chances are excellent that you will find something for everyone in your family to enjoy.- please don't get me started about their pastries-FABULOUS!!! The muffins are HUGE and DELICIOUS- the Banana Walnut is my favorite. Their croissants are outstanding.- Now I'm getting hungry! The service is excellent. The owner is a nice, genuine and caring. I'm greeted with a smile every time I enter this store. The service is fantastic! I love having this store in my neighborhood it makes me feel like I'm home.

The bagels are OK they get $10 for salmon spread that is positively horrible. It tasted like beef jerky.

It's really a coin toss, they are either OK or not great. Try bagelsaurus on mass Avenue much better.

I held this year's birthday dinner here. I had a good impression of Coda Restaurant Group before,…read moreand this place did not disappoint. Prosciutto: The best dish of the meal. The prosciutto slices were perfectly salty, rich in fat, and smooth, wrapped around the refreshing sweetness of kumquats, the delicate creaminess of stracciatella cheese, the crunch and nutty aroma of pistachios, and topped with a smoky touch of sumac powder. It had a rich and distinct flavor profile while offering a gentle and comfortable taste. Spaghetti: The refreshing lemon and basil paired with the umami crab meat is a classic combination. Chili oil added a touch of spice and aroma, while pea tendrils provided a light herbal fragrance. The sauce was emulsified very smoothly, making it both rich and palatable, although the spaghetti itself didn't leave a particularly strong impression. Half Chicken Milanese: A large portion, perfect as a main course to share. The chicken cutlet was thick, fried to a fragrant perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Wrapped in lettuce and eaten with mayonnaise, it brought back memories of the fast food stalls outside my school when I was a child. This was my first time trying rhubarb stems. The tangy and refreshing taste cut through the richness, and the texture was like softer celery and firmer green bell peppers - quite interesting. Duck Bacon Pizza: The most highly rated pizza online, and it was truly delicious! The rich, savory flavor of the duck bacon, the succulent richness of the shimeji mushrooms, and the mellow sweetness of the caramelized onions, combined with the creamy cheese base, made it a calorie bomb, but I still felt it was the right choice. Unfortunately, the crust was a bit hard, making it difficult to cut with a knife. Cotechino Pizza: This was my first time trying a pizza with sweet potatoes, and I couldn't help but admire their innovation. The colors were vibrant, and the sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired with the smoky aroma of Cotechino sausage bits created a full yet harmonious flavor, evoking the feeling of being in the southern Italian countryside in early autumn, basking in the bright sunshine and the satisfaction of a bountiful harvest. The restaurant offered menus printed with "Happy Birthday," and the waiters provided professional cake-cutting service. Overall, a very comfortable experience.

I got the after school snack cocktail which was very refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. We split the Bucatini Verde and it was so delicious. I couldn't even pinpoint the flavors I was eating but it was amazing. Fresh pasta and just really good flavor. We saw a dish online we wanted, but the server explained they use that pasta for different dishes and change out the sauce, so I'm glad I got to try it. We then split the Pepperoni + Vodka Sauce pizza which was good. I'll be honest I was a tad disappointed in the pizza. It was flavorful but I think I was expecting the same feeling I got when I had the pasta. It was good, but just that, good. Crust was a little burnt. I did love the vibes and pasta and it's definitely known in Cambridge for a good reason. I'd recommend a reservation if you'd like a table as it does fill up fast.

Picked the Salsiccia pizza to split between us (and a poached pear and cannoli for dessert). First, the atmosphere is great! Inviting, with great views of Ball Square and the amazing pizza oven. The pizza arrived at the perfect temperature and quickly (we learned later that a pizza spends less than couple minutes in the oven due to how blisteringly hot it gets). Great flavor and composition to the pizza -- the sausage was extremely flavorful and there was just enough cheese. The dough is top notch, with just the right amount of chew! The poached pear and cannoli were excellent. Not too sweet with sufficient complexity. Very, very nice. My fiancé chatted with the staff and learned more about the location and the pizza oven (I mean, it's just too cool to not ask to see more closely). Great service, fantastic food. Will certainly return and I now feel remiss that we hadn't yet been.

The spicy sausage pizza was excellent, the dough is homemade and tastes incredibly fresh. The toppings are fresh as well, which really comes through in the flavor. It's a bit pricey, but that's fairly typical for the Boston area. Overall, we'd definitely recommend it. I believe they offer delivery, too.
