    Hobo bagel

This was our favorite place for many years, but it's consistently gotten worse over the last year. They are often closed with no warning they run out of items constantly this morning. They only had a few bagels to choose from. The bagel sandwiches for ice cold the egg bagel in this picture looks like it didn't even rise, but they sell it anyway very disappointed with this establishment.

2 stars for customer service but friends, this is NOT the Brooklyn Bagel that I'm used to. The bagel itself is really yeasty in taste (almost like it's undercooked), under seasoned and the cream cheese spread ... well, you see. I'm so disappointed in my birthday breakfast.

Not my first time here, but a couple times and I usually come here to get the regular bagel or bagel with lox spread and i think my first time when i came a while back i got a Williamsburg which is my main favorite, but this time i got a bagel with lox spread with asiago bagel and ham egg and cheese bagel with garlic bagel The bagels are huge made with New York water they taste good I mean the bagels. The service is always great help and friendly very nice. The store was clean and quiet at 9am came out while i was sitting on the stools to wait so not that long of a wait. Will come back again of course~

Great bagels, good service. Good prices. First time having egg bagels, very good! The manhattan was so good!

Bagel is good, bigger than normal. Quick service but then again there were only two customers including me, server is friendly. Typical ambience of a coffee shop nothing to complain about overall a decent experience on a quiet afternoon and the price is reasonable

The staff were nice enough, the cafe is small and intimate. The interior is decorated in a way that reflect some aspects Brooklyn pop culture. My breakfast sandwich was expensive. I paid a little over 15 dollars for one sandwich; however, the sandwich was amazing. Simply one of the best breakfast sandwich's I've ever had. The shop appears to be decently popular with locals as many of the different bagel varieties were unavailable when i arrived (before noon on a weekday). Unfortunately they are not a local chain, this is the only location so it won't be my go to spot but it'll will definitely make for a nice treat every so often.

My favorite bagel spot in VB! The bagels are so good and are very fresh. My go-to is the NOBO bagel and the jalapeño cream cheese! Very much NY style, the space is small and usually crowded so don't necessarily expect to find in. Service is quick!

I've been wanting to try BB ever since it opened but due to their hours I haven't been able to - they're closed on Mondays (my day off lol) but I was finally able to venture over the other day. It was so great!! I'm from New York and I can appreciate a fantastic bagel, other bagel shops in town just don't compare to BB! I've heard that they ship their water from NYC for the PH level, and I guess it really does make a difference! We got rainbow bagel sandwiches which were huge and yummy. The sweetened iced coffee was also delish. There isn't much seating inside, mainly a counter along the wall with stools. We were lucky to go on a nice day, there is some patio seating that was great. I can't wait to venture back!

The business owner indicated in their response that I ordered my sandwich with lettuce. WHERE does it say that?

Contrary to what the owner stated, there has not been any refund issued. But I did receive a trolling message from the same owner instead. I think someone has forgotten that A) I am still the customer. B) I am not the one who made mistakes on my order including how to spell my name. Just saying.

The food, the vibe, and service is amazing!! I overheard someone talking about their lox bagel with cream cheese. I didn't want lox (though I'm sure it's tasty), but I got a BOBO with bacon. It was absolutely scrumptious!! The bagel is an egg bagel so it's light and fluffy. Did I mention how large it is?? The flavors of the egg, cheese, hashbrown, and bacon were amazing!! The coffee was great - made with NY water!! I can't wait to go back. You have to check out Brooklyn Bagels!!!

Was not a fan of the bagels - New York does it way better. I could have made the same tasting bagels at home.

Either they lied and these bagels were day old or they were the worst bagels I've had -- even for VB.

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

Plant Bingo at Sage Kitchen was a fun evening overall. Check-in was smooth, and the staff did a…read moregreat job explaining how the game worked and what to expect before everything got started. The game itself was lively, well-paced, and everyone seemed to have a great time. The patio where the event was held is beautiful, and it was spacious enough for the crowd. The only downside to the seating was that some guests ended up behind a wall where they could hear the caller but couldn't actually see her or the plants being awarded. One suggestion that I think would make the event even better is the prize structure. When there are ties, the winners have to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who gets the plant. While that's part of the fun, I felt bad for the people who won their bingo card but ultimately went home with a donated T-shirt, soil, or plant food instead of a plant. Even a small, inexpensive plant for the runner-up would make the experience feel more rewarding, especially since the event is centered around plants. The food and service were a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered the California Club with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious. However, the menu was more limited than expected, and we were told some of the regular menu items (including the tacos!) weren't available during the event. Our server was genuinely pleasant and did the best she could, but she appeared to be covering more tables than one person reasonably should. Service was slow, and we had to remind her about our drinks after our food had already arrived. It felt more like a staffing issue than a service issue. One thing I didn't care for was the payment process. We were only brought a credit card slip with the total to add a tip and sign after our card had already been charged. We had to specifically ask for an itemized receipt to review the charges. I would have preferred the opportunity to see the bill before my card was run or at least have the option to use a different payment method. The event advertising was also a little misleading. The description said, "Join us for 20 rounds of bingo, raffle entries, plant prizes, tacos & drinks!" Based on that wording, it certainly sounded like tacos and non-alcoholic beverages were included with the ticket price. Instead, everything had to be purchased separately, and we were told the tacos (which are on the regular restaurant menu) weren't even available during the event due to the limited event menu. Clarifying that food and drinks are available for purchase would help set better expectations. Despite those issues, we genuinely enjoyed ourselves. I was fortunate enough to win one of the plants, and it's beautiful. My suggestions are simply things I think would make an already fun event even better for everyone. The energy of Plant Bingo, the beautiful patio, the organized check-in, and the friendly atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening, and with a few improvements to the prize distribution, staffing, payment process, and event advertising, it could easily become an even better experience.

I recently attended plant bingo hosted at Sage Kitchen located inside the Anderson garden Center…read more  I was promptly greeted and directed to the check-in table. The check-in process was seamless; my group received our bingo cards and the flyer outlining the 20 game plays, and we appreciated the flexibility of the indoor and outdoor seating. The service was both friendly and efficient. We were required to start a tab; I was unsure if this is standard policy or specific to the event, but either way it worked out well. I ordered the Baja bowl: grilled chicken, black beans, corn, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and avocado served on cilantro-lime rice topped with tortilla strips and Aji Verde sauce. My bowl was delicious, fresh and portioned just right. The plant selections for the prizes were great, I actually won a Pothos Yellow Flame. I do have two suggestions: 1. Consider having extra plant prizes available for tie-breaking rounds instead of playing rock-paper-scissors. If you win you deserve a plant. 2. It would be helpful if guests were provided with a copy of their bill to verify for accuracy before their card is charged and the tab is closed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the event. I look forward to returning to Sage Kitchen soon.
