    Square Slice
    Richard S.

We did a Brooklyn pizza crawl and DiFara came out on top. The flavor from that first bite is just delicious. We also tried a square slice but the regular would be my go to for my next trip. I may even try pepperoni which also looked delicious. We arrive at 11:45 and waited for them to open. There was only one person ahead of us and we barely had to wait.

Finally made my way to none other than Di Fara! There was no line as we drove by so we had to stop and get a few plain slices. I'll be honest, when I took my first bite, I was super skeptical, the cheese and sauce was runny (because it just came out of the oven) but as I took my third and fourth bite, this place really lived up to its hype! The crispiness was on point along with the dough!! The staff were super friendly, greeted me as soon as I came in, and you can see the place decorated with local legends who have stopped by.

    Epic Sicilian slice

Always wanted to try this place out, it's a bit out of the way so I've finally made it out and holy smokes it was worth it. Purchased a cheese pie to go and had a fresh out of the oven Sicilian slice while I waited. The service was impeccable and family vibes all around. Felt like I was in a nostalgic time capsule of the 80s and 90s. Pizza was outstanding. Best Sicilian I've ever had.

Back and the restaurant looked good. The family making the pizza and locals working the counter. Not that there is anything wrong with any other version of that. The pizza is best hot. We walked home 4 blocks and the pizza was cold. Still good pizza... but I could tell if it was hot it would have been amazing. Eat it there for the best results. Cash is king. Discount in cash over card. About $4/5 difference for a pie

One of the best pizza in the city. Thin crust, tasty pepperoni with cheese. So delicious. 5 dollars per slice. Can't have any complaints for their friendly service and price. Love it

    Regular Slice & Pepperoni Slice

Everyone has their own definition of the best slice. For me it's a thin crispy firm crust with a perfectly balanced sauce. They finish it off with a drizzle of EVOO and fresh basil. I've heard about this place for 10+ years and I have to say, it lives up to the hype. There's a reason there's a line at 1130am on a Saturday when they open at noon. They have about 5 tables and a counter with a few stools so plan accordingly. Can't wait to come back! Rates 9/10.

Some friends and I recently visited a couple of pizza spots around Brooklyn, and this ended up being our favorite spot on that day. The regular pie is delicious! I was thoroughly impressed by the dough, which was flavorful, chewy, thin, and crisp. We also tried the square pie, which was just okay. Skip the square pie and go for the regular slice instead.

Was the Alice worth 5 bucks? Absolutely!!! I was running errands after work and needed something to eat fast and quick. Came in was helped very fast and ordered a plain slice. I've gotta say it was one of the best slices I've had in the last 18 years I've been living in New York. Right amount of sauce and cheese on thin crunchy dough. The fact they add basil to the slice make it taste so much better. As for service it's very nonchalant, fast easy and friendly. Definitely coming back for more and recommending it to my friends.

    Half pepperoni, half plain pie

I came here to order a slice and I knew I needed a whole pie after waiting ~20 min and tasting it. Fresh basil and olive oil is added to the top and the crust is nice and crispy. The original pizza maker has since passed but he definitely left his skills to his children. Run, don't walk to try the Di Fara slice if you're in this part of Brooklyn! Giving 4 stars for limited inside seating but the taste more than makes up for it.

Landed at LaGuardia and decided to make the 1 hour drive to check this place out. 1 hour to go 15 miles! Welcome to Long Island / Brooklyn. :-) Chose this place because of Dave Portnoy's review. This place is at a VERY busy intersection with the only parking I saw being street parking. I got lucky and found a spot fairly close. They have pay stations where you print a ticket and put in your dash. I walked in and was greeted immediately. Told them I had a call in and it was ready. The place is very small but noisy from all the action out on the street. I added a water to my order and I thought the woman put it in the bag with the plates and napkins but when I got to my car, I realized there was no water. Oh well, a donation. :-) I ordered a plain cheese pizza. It was very good but it wasn't the "knock my socks off" good I was expecting. Was it worth the drive / hassle? I think so. If you are in the area, I recommend you check them out.

Definitely lives up to the hype. Went on a weekday at 12 noon when they opened and walked right in . The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Pizza was great with fresh mootz and great tomatoes .

    Lauren A.

Overall a disappointment. Service was good enough, everyone was friendly and the food came out fast. Maybe our mistake was just ordering slices instead of a full pie. I don't care for it when pepperoni isn't cooked on the pizza, but placed on it after. The crust was very soggy on both slices and it was hard to pick up and eat. The balance of cheese to crust to sauce was off as well. Too much cheese. It was a cool looking spot, and I could see what it used to be to the neighborhood. RIP to the old man

    Tim C.

We came out of reverence. For the basil scissors, the olive oil drizzle, the chewy crust that was once called sacred. What we got felt like a postcard from a place that doesn't exist anymore. The slice hit the plate looking tired. Pepperoni, dry and scattered, not crisped, not curled, sat like it had been poured from a cup. Cheese clung to the dough in clumps, oily but bland. Sauce barely spoke. The crust, once the crown jewel, felt uneven. A bit chewy, but without that satisfying resistance that great dough gives you. You chew because you're trying to find something to hold on to. Flavor never shows up. Even the cheese slice, which should've been a showcase: bright basil, good cheese, sweet tomato, felt flat. Damp near the tip. A little stiff along the edge. It had color but no depth. Texture but no soul. Every bite made us a little sadder. Inside, the place still tries to feel like a temple. The wall of photos, the green paint, the handwritten signs, the faded tributes to Dom. But the room has a tension now; like everyone's holding their breath, waiting for greatness to return. It doesn't. Luigi's, across town, serves a slice with real chew, real balance, and no drama. Best Pizza pulls off this exact style with far more life and precision. People still call Di Fara a shrine. We left wondering who it's for.

What's the different between the square and the regular? I saw them making it and the process looked the same to me, except the pan used

The square slice is what's called "pan pizza" or "Sicilian pizza" with a thick crust where cheese lays first, and red sauce is on top in contrast to the regular slice.

Can I order for a pick up over the phone?

    Yes you can.

Do they offer by the slice?

yes, but the wait can still be 30-45 minutes for a slice. each pizza is made by a single man, so there's usually only one pie for slices at a time and there's a line.

We walked into the Williamsburg location, which has a simple neighborhood feel, but the constant line outside quickly reminded us how popular it has become. The space is compact and functional, with limited seating and a steady flow of customers moving through the counter, but despite the crowds, the operation moves efficiently, making it a manageable stop if you are prepared to wait a bit. The pizza is the main reason to visit, and it is easy to see why it has built such a strong reputation. The crust is thin with a light crisp on the bottom while still staying chewy enough to support the toppings, the balance of textures creating a base that holds up well against the weight of the ingredients. The burrata slice is one of the signatures, with creamy burrata adding richness without overwhelming the rest of the pizza, and the combination of the fresh cheese with the crisp crust and bright tomato sauce makes each bite feel well composed. The fig jam and bacon slice is another standout, balancing sweet and savory flavors in a combination that feels unique without being overdone, and the saltiness of the bacon cuts through the sweetness of the jam, creating a layered flavor profile. Even the classic slices are executed well, with quality ingredients that let the simplicity of New York-style pizza shine. Beyond the pizza, they also offer desserts like soft serve, gelato, and olive oil cake, making it easy to finish your meal without having to stop somewhere else. The menu is not overly large, but there are enough specialty slices to make trying more than one worthwhile, and the quality across the board is consistent enough that even the simpler options feel carefully prepared. The biggest downside is the popularity. Seating is limited, and it is common to encounter a line throughout the day, especially during lunch and dinner hours. If you are hoping to avoid the longest waits, arriving earlier in the day is usually your best option. Fortunately, the staff keep the line moving quickly, so the wait rarely feels excessive, and the turnover is fast enough that even with a queue, the experience stays smooth. L'Industrie Pizzeria lives up to its reputation as one of New York's standout slice shops. The combination of excellent crust, high-quality toppings, and creative specialty pizzas makes it worth the visit, even if you have to wait in line. It is the kind of place that is easy to recommend whether you are grabbing a quick slice or making it a destination during a day exploring Williamsburg, offering a pizza experience that feels both classic and inventive at the same time.

It is definitely the best pizza in the US; I say this even after visiting Frank Pepe and Sally's in New Haven, and it's honestly not even close. On our last day before heading back to SF, we ordered a massive whole pie: half burrata, half pepperoni. It nailed the classic NYC slice with a thin, crisp crust and the perfect balance of cheese and sauce. It was so good that my daughter finished her burrata half over three separate sittings: at the shop, on the plane, and once she got home. The pie just kept calling to her! Be prepared for long lines, but it is worth it (and the Brooklyn location definitely has shorter lines than the Manhattan spots). It's not really a sit-down place, so you just have to grab a spot at the bar-top tables if you can find room. The service was good and fast. The cashier who took our order was amazing--absolutely love her--though she did forget to hand us our chocolate Bombolone. L'Industrie is a premier New York institution and busy for a reason: it is top-quality pizza!

Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
