As I drove to the place it came to realization that it was a gas station.. F*$#... Well I couldn't cancel the order so I figure I give it a try. Who knows it could be a best pizza ever. Walk in the gas station and it was empty. Ok I can say this because I am Asian but not a good vibe when I get an old asian guy that comes to help you in a gas station pizza joint.. Lord have mercy. My wings and fried zucchini came he packed it up. He took the pizza out of the oven and it as burnt.. Well at least he had enough pride to say oh I burned it so I'll have to make new one.. So had to wait another 15 mins or so for the pizza, while my wings and zucchini waited in the bag. OK so finally get my food home wife calling me asking me if I am still alive.. . Pizza.. Ok I'm sure I said pepperoni and spinach but he dumped some fresh basil. Pizza tasted like cardboard box with some ragu sauce on top. I've been ordering pizza here for a few months now and could not believe it when I found out it was in a gas station. The quality is incredible and had been completely consistent across all of my orders. Don't go in and expect to get the speedy service from a chain that uses frozen ingredients or a fully staffed parlor. This place is in a gas station and immediately that pushed most away, don't let it be the reason you miss out on a great pizza. This was my first time trying it out and when we got there the owner was so friendly and excited to see me walk in had my food ready to go quickly and it smelled great. I ordered a medium half pepperoni jalapeño half margarita and fried zucchini. The fried zucchini was crispy and honestly better than most places I've had I gave it a solid 9/10. Don't be like me and overlook the "gas station" part of the business description. I thought this was a new location of Brooklyn V's pizza and didn't realize my mistake until I was already waiting to pick up the order I called in 20 minutes prior. I waited almost an hour for it upon arrival and thought to myself that I should have just walked out several times but felt bad because I didn't want a small business to waste money if the order had been started already. HUGE MISTAKE. I got 2 pizzas and 2 orders of garlic knots from this place for a friend's birthday several weeks ago. I took the leftover pizza and garlic knots home to my husband for dinner and by the next day I was sick with food poisoning (the bad kind that is too graphic to describe here but affects both ends). I thought it was something else because my husband was fine but by that evening he started getting sick with the same symptoms. This was on a Saturday and we both had to call out sick the following Monday because we felt so bad. When I was finally feeling better, I called my friend to see how she was doing and she said she'd also been sick all weekend. Thanks to Yelp, we were able to try delicious pizza tonight. I didn't have time to cook dinner so we decided to grab takeout. I checked Yelp to see if I can find something new and that's exactly what I got. Found NY pizza and wings and it had such good reviews we decided to give a try. I ordered on the phone. We got the Bianca pizza, margarita pizza and the fried jalapeño ravioli. The guy I spoke to on the phone sounded really nice. Not sure he was the owner but he could be. He said food will be ready in 20 min. My husband went to pick up. At first he couldn't find the place. He called me and I sent him the address, still couldn't find it. It turns out it was in the gas station, tucked away in the back! We didn't know that. We thought we were looking for a restaurant! The food was ready by the time my husband got there. So between the time my husband took to find the place and get home, the food was just warm. I would have loved to try it super hot. To compensate for that, I decided to warm up a couple of pizza slices in my small toaster oven so that the cheese was melting again. The ricotta on the Bianca was so soft and delicious. The pizza was very good. It needed just a tiny bit of salt. The margarita was very flavorful, especially because of the fresh basil. It had fresh mozzarella on it which I really like. The fried ravioli was great! It was just the right amount of spicy. It's stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeños. It occurred to my husband and I that we should have ordered some wings since it's NY pizza and wings! We will be trying that the next time for sure. Prices are very good! Simply put, our entire order was poorly executed. The medium pepperoni pizza was undercooked and overly greasy. The small pizza was burnt on the edges and nearly raw in the middle. It didn't help that one of our pizzas had to be remade whole we waited because the first attempt had burnt. The wings were underdone and yet dry, somehow. The cinnamon bites were overdone, which resulted in an awkward chewy outside. The cheesecake was frozen solid. The margarita pizza had about 4 sliced cherry tomatoes, no cheese, and a plain sauce, with what looked like one basil leaf torn into tiny confetti. The pepperoni pizza looked like a gas station pizza. Neither were awful, but for the price and expectations this misses the mark. The wings were standard deep fried and bottled sauce. The boneless wings were extremely tough and appeared to be frozen chicken tenders cut in half and then fried. Food was just ok. Service was not good & I wonder if the older gentleman working was drunk. App told me 20-25 mins for my pizza & wings. I arrived at the store roughly 25-30 mins after completing my order. When I arrived, another gentleman was ahead of me waiting for his food and was extremely frustrated. He informed me he was told his food would be ready 30mins ago & had been waiting the whole time. When I got my turn at the front of the line, the employees told me it would be 9 more minutes. A little frustrated at this point as I had just heard the other gentleman's frustrations & it was clearly past the time I was given. After roughly 20 minutes, they finally brought out my food, well most of it...They had shorted me a pizza. I immediately informed the employee of this error, he grabbed the receipt & confirmed he had messed up. I asked for a refund as my family was at home waiting on this food. They informed me that I would have to call a number for the app, which they could not locate, as they could not issue a refund in store. As we couldn't find this number and they told me they could make the pizza in 9 mins, I told them to go ahead and make the last pizza & I would return. Took me 10-12 minutes to get back & when I arrive they told me 5 more minutes. At this point I am questioning their ability to tell time. After 10 more minutes, they finally had my order complete. Right before we got back to our hotel hubby really wanted to pizza just so that we can have one to eat in the morning we love cold pizza. As I look on yelp I found that this was one that was close to our hotel. I searched yelp and this place showed up and it had great reviews. We were still returning from Phoenix when I ordered the pizza I had called in and place an order and they said it would be ready in about 15 minutes. 10 minutes to their close time they had called me back to let me know that the pizza was ready for me to pick up I was a minute away. Now tricky thing was finding the place because we are not from here so it took us a minute to find it because we were driving in circles only one I called him and asked him where they were located they told me they were located in the Chevron gas station and they also have a drive-through that was trippy. I've been coming here (the Brown & Recker location) since they first opened in June of 2020, and am so glad that they survived everything that was thrown at them (the COVID lockdowns, the supply-chain problems getting quality ingredients, and the lack of snowbird sales for a couple of winter seasons), and are thriving, and that they just opened a full restaurant on Main Street east of Power! I love supporting local businesses that actually care about their customers and supply quality products, and this is one that will continue to receive my business, and support. The food and customer service are both excellent at the Brown and Recker location, and I'm really looking forward to visiting the new restaurant as well. Tonight, I ordered a sausage/anchovy/mushroom/basil pizza, well done, and it's superb! As good as if I had taken the time to make home made pizza, and that is a HUGE compliment coming from me! If you're looking for true New York pizza, believe it or not, it is inside of a Chevron station in North Mesa. My wife absolutely loves their gluten-free pizza, loaded with toppings. The kids and I like the cheese pizza. The dough, sauce, and cheese are all phenomenal! If you were longing for New York pizza, this is the place. Gas station Pizza is what no one is telling you. I couldn't find it, made a uturn and then realized it's inside the Gas Station. If the photo's showed that I wouldn't of even ordered. I called in to place an order, went to pick it up and saw Gas Station and kept on driving. That's why they said it will only take a few minutes they must microwave it.
