Our kids finished the meals without a single reminder to eat, that is unusual for us. We tried this place for the second time . The pizza was on point. They got everything down just right and the crust was thin and crispy. The most disappointing part of the meal were the chicken wings . They only come in one flavor and they were the smallest wings I've ever seen ; beware baby chicks!! Should have posted this sooner, but this was my first time having a pizza from here. So glad I did! Called in an order, had the specialty pizza and some fries. I think I ate half that pizza before I got home. Fresh and hot and tasty! The fries were seasoned just right for my taste. The lady I paid money too was really nice and courteous! The man doesn't smile- he looks like hates his job. The atmosphere felt heavy & depressing, like walking into a funeral home. It was also super warm, felt like owner doesn't wanna spend money on AC- felt like an oven inside. The grated cheese and pepper on table jars were so old, smelled awful. If you're a family of young children go elsewhere, owner will most likely have rude comments to say. If you still decide to try- just be prepared to wait a very long time so have a snack before lol - I anticipate owner will respond super rudely as he will not accept any truthful feedback that speaks TRUTH about his establishment. Called in an order for a Hawaiian pizza. Didn't rush to get it. We arrived and they had not made the pizza yet. You could tell there was some disarray and the owner told the young worker not to give anyone else their pizza without his approval. When they gave us our pizza, we could tell they had cooked a cheese pizza and then threw ours toppings on after. They looked uncooked. We asked for it to be re-made. Instead, he added some cheese on top and baked it some more... Just wasn't what we were expecting. Good food and pleasant atmosphere. Our family of four came here after my son's hocket game. Everyone got something different. We got pasta, sandwich, pizza and an appetizer. The bread on the sandwich was fresh. The pizza had a crispy crust. The food was tasty and I can't believe how reasonable the prices were. The restarant is in a shopping center and lacks personality. A few weeks ago, my husband brought me a meatball sub from here. It was very good-- the best meatball sub I have eaten since we returned to Texas 30 years ago after living in New England for 6 years when he was in the Navy. A good part of that time I worked in a "mom and pop owned" Italian deli, so when it comes to Italian eats, my standards are really high. Last night, we got a sausage and onion pizza so I can officially give this establishment a 5-star review. The pizza was magnificent in every way; perfectly crisp crust (w/o any blackened parts) that is thin- but not too thin, tasty sauce, and adequate toppings. I LOVE how the sausage is sliced from links- the way it should be! Pork or beef can be crumbles, but Italian sausage should be thinly sliced. I sliced about a thousand pounds of it during my time working at the deli, so I aught to know. The folks working, which I assume were the owner and part of his family, were professional. The dine-in area was clean enough to satisfy even picky folks. Certainly a huge improvement over the former tenant in this space. We WILL be returning. Probably often. I intend to sample some of the pasta options next time. I hope the owners keep up the standards because Mansfield desperately needs an option for great casual Italian eats like pizza & subs. If I could leave a zero stars I would. Called last night to order over $50 worth of food to be delivered. He took my order and credit card info. 5 minutes later he calls me back to say they don't deliver to Remington Ranch south of Heritage. After explaining that every other place located at Matlock and Debbie delivered to my house 7 miles away, he started yelling and being belligerent with me. I told him I would never order from them ever again, he laughed rudely say that in his 50 years of working/running a restaurant that none of them didn't deliver that far. Ah where do I begin. I ordered a philly cheese steak sandwich, the onions weren't even sautéed and they use yellow American cheese which just doesn't sit right with me. The actual meat was meh. Bread was nicely toasted. I paid 4$ for a side of Alfredo sauce, not only was it a tiny 3.5 oz container, the sauce was so thin and it was ice cold. Garlic knots are great though. Also, they told me it would be ready in 25 minutes which actually meant 45-50 minutes. The best NY style pizza in town. Thin crust is very crispy and nicely browned. The regular crust is slightly chewier but still well cooked. Both came with delicious tomato sauce and just the right amount of cheese. Other items on the menu are equally well done. The salads are fresh and well made. Try the mussels marinara. This past weekend I was driving and noticed Brooklyn Pie pizza place. I like to try new restaurants. Omg! I'm glad I did. Brooklyn Pie Cafe is absolutely delicious. My daughter and I couldn't stop. We did a pie split pepperoni for my daughter and Margherita. The every piece of this pizza was worth it. The sauce was full of flavor! The crust not two thick, not to thin, it was Spot on! You have got to try this place. They have an extensive menu. I enjoyed the pizza so much. I ordered a lasagna to go for lunch the next day. I've included before and after pictures. Stars (see key for details). Pros: Fast delivery, pizza was better than average, sausage was sliced and not the crumble (which I really liked). Cons: Chicken wings - horrible. AVOID them. They were extremely small, and what little meat there was on them was overcooked and dried out. Sauce was average. General comments: I had delivery and the pizza wasn't hot...so that is why I couldn't say it was good. I do think there is a strong possibility that if you ate in the restaurant and got a hot pie, then it would be good...or better. I do think if they could figure out how to deliver a hot pizza, and cook a decent wing, that they might earn a 3.6 or 4 star rating. Right now I would give a 2.8. Key for star rating: 5 stars: Travel worthy - it's a dinning experience worth investing in. I'm already making plans to come back! 4 stars: No tears - your not going to cry (good or bad tears), but you won't be disappointed. Great and authentic pizza! The portions are good and they are really accommodating. BYOB and a good, but casual vibe. Unfortunately for kiddos, all their sauces have a spice to them, so be careful! My baby can't eat here :( the pizza isn't as bad, I just scrap off the sauce. read more
