I got a Groupon for this place for 2 Brooklyn Square pizzas. They were excellent. No issues with ordering, pick-up, or with using the Groupon. I like it when things go smoothly. Two pizzas are too much for me and my wife so I dropped one off at my parent house. They enjoyed it very much. I ate the other one with my wife and 2 of my friends. We all enjoyed. I would go back for sure to get more of the Brooklyn Square's (sauce on top of cheese) or to try some of their other food. Tough to decide on 4 or 5 stars. Went with 4- very good. While it's closer then going all the way into Brooklyn, and dealing with the Belt Parkway, it is not totally the EXACT copy of L&B Spumoni Gardens - First, WAY too much sauce, and a little too sweet of a sauce, if I may add... and also too crusty. A corner slice should NEVER be 45% corner crust!! Also, when people walk in and say they are going to eat their 6 slices, serve it to them HOT, not lukewarm... HOT! Great little pizza joint right in Seaford. Their menu is concise and classic with that "Brooklyn" flair. Having recently gotten a job in Brooklyn, I'll have to try the pizza there and update my review once I've had both. (That seems to be the main point of concern in the past reviews.) Their upside down Sicilian very close to the one I find at Rosas in queens which I would say is the absolute best. L&B is way over hyped. Ordered a Margarita pie over the phone. The website lists the price as $21.00. When I got there, the price was $23. The young lady said that she will tell her boss. There was a pie on top of the oven and she told me that mine wasn't ready yet, that I would have to wait. Okay, I like my pizza hot on the way out the door. Several minutes went by and she grabbed the box on the oven and said it was mine! (Strike 2) The bottom of the box was cold. I opened the box and it was a "round" pie. I was a customer for the past 9 years. Once or twice over that span I may have complained if there was something wrong with my purchase, but it didn't stop me from going back. But my last purchase was the last draw. I called at 6:30 pm Thursday night and ordered for a family style calzone for me to pick up, the girl on the phone told me that they didn't have it, I questioned why as I have ordered it many times In the past, I asked to speak to the Mgr on duty, Andrew got on the phone and I questioned him as to why they couldn't make a calzone, his answer was because they were busy, that they could make it but it would need extra time. I was fine with that. He said I could pick it up in 30 minutes. I picked up the calzone at 7 pm, went home which is half mile away. I cut a piece out of the center and the ricotta was ice cold. I had to heat it up for 45 minutes in my toaster oven which heated it to the appropriate temperature. I called up Brooklyn square at the time I first realized it was cold and spoke with Andrew the Mgr. I told him the ricotta was ice cold in side, his response was , asking me if I had complained aBout the same thing in the past, I told him that I didn't recall and he said yes you called in the past with the same problem, I asked him if he thought I was lying and he said that it couldn't have been cold because it was just taken out of the oven, so basically he is telling me that it wasn't cold, that I was a lier. The he said he was busy and didn't have time for this. I asked for the owner to call me and I'm the past 2 days , NO CALL. They have inexperienced workers and Managers running this place that don't know how to cook and deal properly with customer concerns. I WILL never use them again. Rosarios pizzeria a few blocks away makes better food where the owner is always there and knows how to make his customers happy.! read more
