Sure they have great beer and food trucks. But they also have the best paper towels in the WCs of any brewpub in the tri-county area.

I just love this place. Not only is the beer damn good, it's all about the atmosphere. It's a relatively small place with a lot to do and see. There is plenty of seating and there is not a ton of noise pollution. I may be getting old, but I don't want to go somewhere that I have to shout. Its a place to go and kick back with friends and enjoy a good beer and conversation. There are also board games and connect four to play. I have seen a few euchre games going on there as well. They had a golden retriever that greeted all of the guests and brought a lot of joy to the patrons. He has since died, but now there is a brand new puppy joining the team! Sadly, the pup wasn't there last night. I was hoping to meet him. But I'm sure he/she will be a wonderful new addition. One important thing to note is that there is no kitchen here. No kitchen does not have to mean no food though. They do have a good truck, which is available (with a limited menu) on Fridays and Saturdays from 5-10pm. The staff will also advise you on local spots with free delivery to the brewery, and you can always grub hub, or pick something up and bring it. It's just a nice place to go and relax. No pressure. This review is from the point of view of a non-beer drinker. If husband was doing the review he probably would have given it a higher score. I saw on the website that there was a cider that I wanted to try, when we got there they were out of it and I was a bit disappointed. The mead was only being sold by the bottle. I can't drink that much and the bottles were a bit expensive. So my only other option was wine. The wine was ok, it was a generous pour but nothing special. Husband asked the server what his favorite beer was and the said "it's not on the menu" and then husband asked if they had it and the server said no, so that was a little strange... Husband sampled a few beers and enjoyed his them. Bar service was slow. Maybe they can't find staff but they need more servers/bartenders. read more

As a fan of rehashing old traditional beer recipe's from the 4th century to the Middle Ages, I have had several beers here were the flavor was unreal...but it's not for everyone. This is NOT like slamming a Dogfish beer made from chewed corn, but a very unique perspective on brewing beer. read more

Really nice place. This was the closest brewery to my hotel on a business trip to Utica, MI. Stopped in for a flight. Place is very clean and welcoming. Beer styles ranged from pale lagers to DIPAs, with some kettle sours and a dark beer or two thrown in to round out the selection. My 7 beer flight was solid all around. A few standouts, but no stinkers. Bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. Customers were nice. They have free popcorn and board games. I will be back next time my travels take me to the northern suburbs of Detroit. read more

I adore this place! Their craft beers are always on point. Never any drop in quality or taste, like some of the other breweries around the area. The focus here is craft beer and it shows. No food but that's okay because all outside food is okay, including delivery. Awesome music, ambiance, and decor. Very unpretentious & down to earth, while super clean and inviting. Let me just start off with, I was greeted by a golden retriever! A friend and I went here for a drink to check it out. We were greeted by Buddy and very friendly staff. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable, and their selection was great! Try the triple! Food is supplied by a food truck, which was awesome but keep in mind the menu is limited. This is a good spot for beer and hanging out. You can bring in your own food- so we stopped and got Italian to go and brought it there. Since I was having Italian I decided to try their red wine- it was a fruit wine but was actually pretty good! Then switched to beer- their selection is good and they have tasty options. Love the beers and feel of this place! It is really nice to sit and hang out here. The dog is a bonus. :) Good music usually at a nice volume so you an talk to your company. Service is always very nice, and offers great recommendations if you need help selecting. No food, but you can bring your own in. Brooks is probably my new favorite brewery in the area! The location is fantastic. Even though it's primarily an empty warehouse like interior, it's fairly comfortable and I really enjoy the aesthetic created by the wood tables and chairs. There's also a well configured projector, and most nights, there's some sort of game on, so it's a nice place to lift a few pints and catch up on the event of the day. Most importantly, it's clean. The service has been very good. Each server we've had has been knowledgeable about the beer, and they've checked up on us regularly to make sure our glasses are always full. There's no food here, which is how I prefer most breweries; you can just bring your own food in or have it delivered. I appreciate that they focus on the beer! The beer is outstanding! Each beer I've had has been a solid representation of the style, the glassware is clean and the prices are right. There are also a number of taps of varied styles, which is a breath of fresh air. There have been a few IPAs on, as well as a brown ale, English mild, Hefeweizen, a number of stouts, amber ales etc... A solid variety. I really like their pricing approach: Each beer is $6 and depending on the style, you'll just get a smaller pour. Lower ABV beers are served in larger glasses, higher ABV beers are served in smaller glasses. Most breweries will price a 4%-5% beer in the $5 range, and a 10% beer in the $6-$7 range, so it works itself out. I don't feel cheated if I'm drinking the larger servings all night; the beer is great. My favorites have been the Hefeweizen, White Boy Rob (American Pale Ale) and Baba Yaga (American IPA). I've tried a number of others, but I always come back to at least one of these because they're so good. There are also a few coin-op arcade cabs and pinball machines to play with and a bunch of board games to choose from as well. All in all, this is a great brewery and they're doing things right. OK. Let's set the record straight here. THIS IS A BAR. They just happen to make their own alcohol. It is clearly stated on the door no one under 21 is permitted. Food is offered Thursday-Saturday by a 3rd party vendor, which pairs deliciously with the selection. You can bring your own food in if you'd like. This is the best brewery in the area! They always have a wide selection of beers on tap and most of them are fantastic! The staff is very attentive and the Cary always makes you feel welcome. I highly recommend if you're in the area and in need of a beer (or four). Make sure you say hello to Buddy and give him a scratch behind the ears. Update 2/18/2018 Just tried the Sunday brunch...it was amazing! The Breakfast burrito is grilled and stuffed with eggs, bacon, sausage and cheese. Local brewery that only serves their own beer. Nice selection on tap balance of Ales, IPAs, and Stouts & Porters. The hef that's currently there is quite good. The Irish stout on nitro was a flat out disappointment. The peanut butter stout was quite good even if it was a little kitschy. No food is served, but they do have a popcorn machine. Are usually bring it to go order with me if I'm going to stop there for a beer after work. Service is what you expect from a local brewery not fancy but they make sure you get your beer. :) Pricing is average for local breweries. read more

I tried two beers and they were both great as well as my friend enjoying the two they ordered. My favorite part of my trip was being able to drink beer and pet and adorable dog all in one place. I stop by this place to pick up a 6-pack of the banana Hefeweizen because they don't sell it on the metro Detroit side of town. I have yet to see any of the beers at the grocery store and it's disappointing because I would buy the brooks beer if it was sold out by me. Their beer is delicious and they always have an assortment and try to mix things up a bit. I did try and get in touch with them on Facebook regarding what beers they have available so I could come the next day since I was going to be in the area and I got no response which was upsetting. Stopped here on a whim and enjoyed the place. It's big and was very clean (as a brewery should be). It looked like they do their brewing right there in the same area as the taproom, but nothing was going on when we were there. There's a bar that even rounds the brewing area which I'm assuming is where you can watch when they are working. A great selection of beers here, and something for everyone. You can get a shield with 4 or 7 samples for a good price. No food except small snacks, but they let you bring in your own or have it delivered. read more

Came her with my wife and son for Father's Day. There was only one other person in the place. I was told we had to leave because children aren't allowed. The female worker said it was a city "thing" however this is not the case. No children policy is not mentioned on website or their FB page. Brooks Brewing has a pretty good size space so I could see myself and some friends going up there to hang out. They have multiple board games that you can play at any time. It had a little bit of slow service and I wasn't quite sure if that's because it was our first time or they were understaffed. It'd be worth it to head back there for another try. The beer was good. I was excited to try this place for my birthday, but I came in at like 830 on a Saturday and it took over 20 minutes to get a beer. And I had to go to the bar to get it, while I see other tables being served, my group of friends and I were ignored for 15mins. Got our own table eventually after kicking people off which were just sitting on it. Literally left after one drink, the beer was okay but not worth the 20min wait to get a fucking beer. read more

This place is special. Come here. You won't be disappointed. Things I've tried that were great: Romancing the Dragon, Gold Cone, Hopsterbation, Oubliette, Peanut Buddy. In particular the Peanut Buddy is uniquely satisfying, and the 13% Gold Cone has a foamy head I've never seen on any other high alcohol beer. The service was also amazing. Brooks has a large, comfortable taproom with a brewery dog who greets customers. Actually, I think the dog was my favorite part. They had a wide variety of beers, all of which were pretty good but not memorable.
