This review is based solely on the excellent customer service that we received . My boyfriend and I stopped here on a Friday around 6 for a couple cold beers. The place was packed. We were immediately greeted by a very nice smile and upbeat, helpful personality. (think it was the owner) ice cold beer(: we were waited on by like two or three different members of the wait team, but that was OK. I know some yelpers hate that. Very clean establishment. Clean bathrooms. We will definitely go try the food soon. I don't like sitting in front of a lot of people and I like the fact there are some private tables and outside seating as well. I've been here twice, and both times the food was mediocre at best. House salad consists of lettuce, a slice of tomato, onion, and some slimy flavorless chunks of Anaheim pepper (gross). The thousand island dressing is awful. Our server was nice enough, but she didn't offer us beverages after we ordered "water for now" and she didn't offer dessert either. My family and I had lunch at Brooks Place during a quick trip up the hill from Broomfield. We visited the last location and I'm pleased they're still around. The owners are frequently on-site, are quick to engage in friendly conversation, and I appreciate the attention they clearly pay to their business and customers. Our appetizers included the pretzel bites and chips with curry dip. Both of these were fantastic, but it's the pretzel bites my wife and I are craving days later. I took a friend's recommendation and had the Brooks Place Burger. It was cooked well and tasted great, but too spicy for my taste. I didn't hold this against the restaurant since I ordered without reading the description. My toddler enjoyed a few bites of the Mac & Cheese but was more interested in flinging pretty much everything from the table to the ground. He got some pretty good distance on a chunk of chicken so I was impressed. His loss - I claimed his portion and it was delicious. Plenty of beers to choose from. I was set to order a familiar Left Hand Milk Stout when the owner suggested Old Chub from a local brewery. Good choice. The staff was friendly and attentive although I had to ask for water a few times (our waiter was in training, and it was a large group). Plenty of TVs and a few games suggest they want customers to hang out for a bit. We'll definitely return the next time we're in Colorado. read more

My daughter and I came here for the first time last week to have dinner and watch a preseason football game. Even though it was pretty full, they let us pick any of the empty tables. Service was awesome and we ordered the specials - calamari and salmon. Both were wonderful. We moved to the bar to watch the game. Service was still good. They had pretty much closed, but let us stay for most of the game. We're going back this week for the next game. Great experience! read more

We really enjoyed our stay here. We only had drinks, but the barkeep was really cool, as well as attentive. We did some see people eating (I say that like its a novelty or something), and the food did look super yums. It was pretty loud, but it's somewhat of a sports bar, so it's to be expected. Enjoyed our after hike supper at Brooks place. They did an excellent job with our group of 14. (We did call the day before to alert them we were coming.) Got drinks and dinner out to everyone quite reasonably. Handled my gluten and dairy allergy questions with ease. Good burger and side salad. Hands down, the best service I've received in a long time. The place was packed. We had a party of 5, which I then changed to 9 as soon as they finished setting up the table, AND we had 5 kids. Not once was anyone anything other than super happy to help us. Our drinks arrived with lightning speed, and our orders were timely and accurate. Busing of the tables was perfect, as well. Their beer list is large, and they're happy to let you sample. They also have a nice cocktail list. The food is not bad, for a bar. Their burgers and Mac and Cheese are great. My only complaint is that my chicken was unforgivably dry. All-in-all, we would absolutely return. read more

This is our go-to burger place. The burgers are consistent. I usually sub out the fries for the chili side. The fries are hit or miss - either deliciously crispy and seasoned or they are cold and soggy. The service is generally good and there's great beers on tap. read more

We sat there without any service for 15 minutes. Multiple servers walked by and didn't even acknowledge us. At a restaurant, 15 minutes feels like an eternity. It wasn't busy, and the section we were sitting in had one other table. Terrible service, other than the bartender who actually helped us. This place came highly recommended from a couple people for their burgers, however, I am entirely not impressed. I have eaten at this place twice...once it was quite busy and the second time not busy at all. On both occasions my burger was dry, overcooked, and tasted incredibly charred. Why bother asking me the cook of the meat if well done is the only cook that will be provided to patrons? The French fries were incredibly salty. The potato skins and cup of chili were the best things about both visits. The server did take the burger off the bill on the second visit, however I will likely not be returning here for burgers. read more

Honestly, the service was terrible with passive aggressive server who did not check on our table exept to bring the food and drinks and bill. Sat there for 10 minutes waiting for her to come so we could ask for the check. Was very short. Food was okay but would not go again. We went hiking at Eagle's View Trail Loop (great by the way) and stopped here on the way back. The menu features a variety of items. (If the phone reception wasn't so poor in that area I would have seen the reviews and tried the pretzel and beer cheese! Maybe next time.) My wife had the chicken wrap, the chicken had a good smoky flavor and a generous portion. I opted for the Ruben sandwich which can be a gamble. I'm pleased to say it was really-really good. The corned beef was chopped (versus sliced), lean for corned beef and had a great flavor. I opted for the side salad, salad is salad, but it was cool and refreshing. The service was good and our waitress/server was extremely pleasant. We would definitely eat here again if we were in the area. read more

As far as mountain food goes, Brooks is definitely a step above the rest. An extensive menu and plenty of gluten-free alternatives offers some much-needed variety to our usual outings at the area's many Mexican restaurants. Ok so I have been coming to this restaurant for a while, but I just had really horrible service here. It was so bad I looked on my receipt for the waitresses name, Kim L, is all it says for her name. My God it makes me never want to come back to this restaurant the service was so bad. How many times does someone need to ask for a baby high chair, or silverware? And then she charges me the wrong amount on my bill she doesn't split the bill. She puts my friends items on my bill. How hard is it to divide the check properly? When I point out her mistake she gets an attitude and is rude. She agrees to correct the mistake and recharge me the correct amount, but with a major attitude. I've stopped a few times "on my way" from Winter Park to Denver. It's worth driving a bit out of the way. While it's great to swing by for one of their many fabulous beers, it's well worthwhile to stay for dinner. While the regular items on the menu that I've tried are fantastic, the specials (soups and entrees) are often where the chef really shines. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the staff is friendly. While I had been to their former location, it was only recently that I stopped in at the current location and I was glad to see there's a lot more space, yet it keeps its warm, welcoming feel. If I lived in the Conifer area, this would be my "local". read more

Wow! I've lived in Conifer for 4 years, and I've eaten here 3 times...sadly is is not improving. Rather, the opposite...The price is NOT worth the wait or food! I sat at the bar...mistake, but since there were only three other people there, I thought it'd be faster. Not the case. The bartender talked with her buddy, and luckily noticed I sat down. I'd probably still be waiting if she hadn't! I placed my order for a quick lunch, and waited...and waited...you catch my drift, but her buddy got another beer Johnny on the Spot! I finished my coke, and sat there watching the TV screens until my lunch arrived. Finally, she noticed I needed another coke, and utensils, and condiments. So $15 dollars later, after a lukewarm lunch (heat lamps don't do cooked food justice, and pretty obvious when its been sitting under) I finished. The bartender didn't ask about the food, didn't ask if I needed anything else, and finally gave me my check. Rather expensive for the quality of food and service, so I learned my lesson about the local Brooks Place Tavern. Three strikes and you're out! read more

Our favorite family restaurant! Once again... the consistency of food and friendly service never disappoints. The kids are home from college for the Summer and our first order of business was a trip 'up the hill' to Brooks Place Tavern. Naked Wings with multiple sauces, a couple burgers and pretzel bites. I never write reviews... but this time, i feel obliged to my fellow diners. Horrible service. Don't go there. We were hiking in the area and decided to grab some burgers. I checked Yelp for highly rated joints and found this place. Good ratings so we're decided to give it a try. Boy, it was a mistake! We got there at about 3 pm. We were seated inside. The menu looked good. We ordered pretzels and beer cheese appetizer, burgers and a meal off the kids' menu. The waitress told us the kitchen is backed up and we need to be patient. No problem. 20 mins later they brought salads. No appetizer or silverware. Our waitress hears about silverware and asks about refills and disappears. 10 mins later, the kids starving and picking out lettuce leaves by hand, we flag down another waitress and she brings us silverware. Still no drinks, appetizer or food. 20 more minutes they bring our our burgers...COLD. so are fries. Several more minutes go by, still no sight of our waitress. We flag another server and ask for the manager. Only after that or waitress decides to make an appearance with our drinks. When we tell her about our food being cold and missing an appetizer, she never blinks an eye. Never apologizes. She scolds me for being mean to her and says that she wouldn't be able to help. For someone working in a hospitality business, you'd expect them to know the difference between mean and dissatisfied with the service. Also tells us she never wrote down our order. My husband asked her to leave our table and let us work with the manager. The manager, Kim, came over, listened, apologized, redid our order and gave us a discount. We're grateful for how she handled it, but would never go back. Don't recommend it to anyone. There are much better places with a great service where you can get a good burger. read more

Good food and good service. Wonderful selection of beer on tap. The menu is quite extensive with something for everyone in the family. I do not recommend the pretzel app with cheese dip, the dip was separated and then they added roux to bind it back together. Unfortunately by doing so the sauce tasted bland and I could not eat it. We've been here before and had mixed experiences. Last night our food was less that great. The ribs which cost $23, were dry, over salted and burnt on the bottom. The chicken kebobs were well seasoned but dry and over cooked. The side salad was a bit limp. It also seemed like the place was a little under-staffed. The waitstaff seemed a bit frazzled and the kitchen was backed up. So sorry for the mediocre review. :( read more
