I waited about 30 minutes 40 minutes for my food and it taste like it had been cooked three days ago. My chicken was dry. My ribs are dry. I mean dry like the desert. Mac & cheese was ok it had flavor, but it seemed like they made a couple days ago and it stuck it back in the oven to warm it up so it was dry at the top and dry the inside, but it had good flavor. Onto the candy yams candy yams were sweet but not juicy just dry and I don't even know how you dry out candy yams, so overall, it was absolutely MID. I mean super MID. Unfortunately the review I assumed I was going to be giving by researching the menu before I came was a NO due to it was the owner's birthday so they didn't cook the full menu for that particular day. Review: 0 Stars - Poor Service, Unprofessional Staff, and Unsanitary Food My experience with this restaurant was absolutely unacceptable from start to finish. First, I tried calling to place an order -- no one answered. So, I went to their website and placed my order online. I called again afterward just to confirm they received it -- still no answer. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was told "Oh, I'm sorry, but your order is not ready." On top of that, they informed me there were no waffles for the chicken and waffle meals I had ordered -- not just one, but three plates for my children. As a result, I had to place a new order in person and wait again, even though the whole point of ordering ahead was to avoid the wait. And then, to make matters worse, when I finally got my food, there were flies inside the bag. I brought this up to the manager, and instead of apologizing or showing any concern, she responded -- word for word -- "You can just open the bag and let the bugs fly out. There's a lot of bugs out here." No apology. No accountability. Just an unbelievably disrespectful and dismissive attitude. The manager's behavior was unprofessional and made me feel like she had some personal issue with me -- but whatever her problem was, it should never have affected the way she treats customers. This is not how a business should be run. I give this place zero stars. You know what........? This spot left me feeling some kinda way. More than 30 years ago, this was the iconic Prince's BBQ of my childhood. Today, it's under new ownership, new name and far from being iconic. At first glance it looks promising and colorful, on that corner. But pull into the parking lot for the real story. This Saturday afternoon, the area (sidewalk, neighborhood, parking lot) was full of activity from individuals who looked like they may have been struggling with their own demons. With frazzled nerves, I completed my order for a rib dinner, complete with greens, Mac & cheese and peas & rice. They do have an outdoor waiting area, but I retreated to my car to wait for my order. Soul food at is best!! This is a family owned place, I believe they were named differently before. Location is great with plenty of parking, nice set up with fans since it's on the outdoors. During weekends they have a Dj and even at times events. The food I feel it's a hit or miss at times the first time we went we got the steak combo and it was extremely good, they are famous for their Mac and cheese and I understand why, great seasoning on the potato salad as well and steak was cooked to perfection.
