This place was good enough I'd eat here again if someone asked me to go with them, but not good enough to make a special trip there. It's got the cutest name and a decent sized menu. However, the food was also just decent. I liked the tenders and sauces and not much more than that. The fries were more than plain and the jumbo shrimp lacked flavor in my opinion, so I dunked them in buffalo sauce to kick them up a notch. For this visit we opted to eat inside and the tables were all sticky. Not in a dirty way, but almost like they had cleaned the finish off them or had removed contact paper and not used any goo-gone. With a little elbow grease or some cheap "fixing up" I think that situation could be rectified. We also were almost blinded at the time we ate around 7/7:30pm. The windows on the front allow sun directly in the restaurant and there's no way to block it. Thankfully we finished as the sun went down and we didn't have to deal with it long before we left. If you like tenders, this wouldn't be a terrible spot, but there is definitely room for some improvements. read more

They immediately won bonus points for the name alone, but then we discovered their chicken is actually pretty cluckin' awesome. My first go was the giant spud with chicky tendies and buffalo sauce. The chicken is so tender and has the right amount of batter crispiness to it. The sauce was very flavorful, but if you don't like it heavy-handed, you might want to ask for the sauce on the side. They aren't stingy. My spouse was raving over their jumbo shrimp. I can't speak to that because I don't eat them, but I haven't stopped hearing about since we went months ago... It's a modest-sized restaurant on the one busy street in K-ville. The staff was very friendly and everything was clean. This is one of those experiences where you go in with completely modest expectations, and are absolutely Brother Cluckin' blown away. We were happy with every aspect of our lunch stop at Brother Cluckers! They won us over on quality, value, friendliness, and cleanliness. Hard to do better than that at a chicken shack... but we found so much more than great chicken. Indeed, I saw they had daily specials and that on Sunday it was a jumbo shrimp basket with a side of choice, cole slaw, and some hushpuppies. Sounded good to me so I ordered it up. My wife got the buffalo chicken loaded potato. They gave us our numbered receipt, we helped ourselves to drinks, and had a seat. When the food came out, immediately, you are impressed by the amount you get. My basket had 12 definitely jumbo shrimp, perfectly fried, the side of okra was just as voluminous and tasty... maybe slightly underfried but still crisp enough, and the fact they were a little underdone made the rest great in the air fryer later. Hushpuppies were located under the shrimp, they had a nice onion flavor and were great. The cole slaw is the kind I like, NOT heavy on mayo at all. A slight sweetness and hint of vinegar. The cocktail sauce even had a nice pep (I like mine heavy on horseradish). Could not have been more pleased with my order. Same could be said of my wife's potato, it was a big un' and overflowing with toppings and tender buffalo chicken. I particularly liked the buffalo sauce they use when I got to try a bite of hers. Not over or undersauced, well balanced... in general just done exactly how she wanted it. We both left knowing we will be back another time, and that it won't be a long time. With my job, I have to eat out a lot. I rely on places that are clean with good food. With that being said I've worked in this area for two years and had never been to Brother Cluckers. Today I decided to give it a try and boy was I surprised. Let's just say I missed out on the last two years! I ordered a cheeseburger with fried okra. I requested to add coleslaw since I noticed on the menu, it looked like the good kind like your grandma used to make. As I approach the window, a staff member named Roxana was very kind in helping me with my order. I told her it was my first time visiting their restaurant and she made it a very good experience. I opened the container and noticed a very generous portion of fried okra. I took a bite and it was crispy and good. I went to eat the cheeseburger and it literally melted in my mouth. I like it when the bun is soft enough that it melts around the goods inside it. The food was fresh and very good. I noticed on the menu. It's a fast casual spot in a small space with limited seating. Counter service was fast & friendly. It was obvious that everything was cooked to order. I liked that they had additional options for sides other than fries. The fried okra was one of the best I've had. The okra tasted freshly breaded & fried...not from a frozen bag. The chicken fingers are the highlight of my spicy clucker sandwich. They each were probably 2-3x the size of chicken fingers from other places. They were juicy, fried perfectly and paired very well with the slaw, pickles & pickle sauce in my sandwich. The bun was also buttered and toasted giving it an extra layer of taste. This was my first time trying this restaurant. We where heading to Dairy Queen but saw this place and decided we would give them a try. They looked closed but the website said they were open. We pulled in and they where open. We placed a pretty big order and we pulled up to the window to pay. The food came right out. This made me worry everything was going to be cold and not good. Just the opposite, everything was really good and hot when we got home. We both ordered there chicken tenders and two sides. I can honestly tell you that my meal was good. The green beans and coleslaw that I got with mine was the star of the show. The chicken was good and they sauces they offer was good as well. The wife agreed that hers was good as well. I tried three sauces, the Buffalo sauce, Clucker sauce, and the Sweet Asian sauce. All were delicious and the perfect compliment to my food. The Clucker sauce is my fav! The combo also comes with a drink. The food was prepared to order, hot, and fresh. All of my food was fried but not too greasy, which is a thumbs up for me . The environment is the perfect setting for comfort food with great music and a friendly staff. Brother Cluckers is in a prime area, Union Cross Road in Kernersville. It is near the interstate, apartments, homes, businesses, and Glenn High School. While dining a few families came in. Some dined in and others utilized the drive thru. So let me start with the service. I drove up and immediately got nervous. There was a lady outside with a dog with a man just chatting and (of course) playing with the dog. Shortly thereafter, the man comes inside and insists on shaking the manager's hand. She then goes to the back AND NEVER WASHED HER HANDS. I watched intently to be sure she did not touch my food. Thank GOD she didn't. Now as for the food. Let me start with the wings. Don't bother. The wings? The coupon makes it worth the experiment. However, before you pay full price I suggest going to Zaxby's...especially if you are eligible for the military/veteran's discount. The fries are MUCH better. My son an I have very different opinions of good chicken sandwiches. He likes very crispy deep fried with lots of breading like popeyes. I'm a chick fila fan. When we saw a new chicken place open up in Kernersville we decided to try it. Our biggest disappointment was that there are chicken strips on the sandwiches. When I got back I looked back at the online menu and sure enough the video shows a full chicken breast being prepared and I can't find anywhere that says there are strips on the sandwiches. We didn't find anything really to be excited about but nothing else to complain about. We agreed it was just average and would compare it the most to Zaxbys. Probably will not visit again but I only eat fast food once or twice a month and usually stick to what I know I like. read more

We were passing through during that odd time where it's too late for lunch and too soon for dinner, so we decided to split the Hungry Clucker plate. We got the tenders fried, with fries and hush puppies, and siracha honey and clucker sauce. Everything was so fresh and delicious! You can tell these tenders are homemade.
